Just a first impression, only ate there once. This used to be a Charlie Chiang's, and still has some of the nice interior design features of that place. The food seems to be basically Korean Japanese, with some Vietnamese and Thai options too. Plenty of fully Korean dishes also. As you'd expect, there's plenty of sushi and a few types of pho and ramen. I had gyoza and bun cha. The gyoza was okay, but wasn't in the Japanese style that I prefer. Instead of soft skin with maybe one pan-fried side, the whole thing is deep-fried and crispy like thai dumplings. The shell has a much stronger flavor than the interior. The sauce is pretty sweet. Japanese style gyoza uses just soy sauce and vinegar, with a little enhancement from stuff like onions or ginger. It's a more subtle flavor. The bun cha was pretty good, but like a lot of Viet and Korean dishes, you've got to assemble it yourself, and I'm embarrassed to say I don't know the procedure. There's a big bowl of noodles soaking in sweet clear sauce (not to be confused for soup, lol), a cup of lettuce leaves, some pickled veggies, and the meat itself. In the past I've had kalbi served on a lettuce leaf, with rice as foundation, so I tried layering a few noodles into the lettuce and then loading it up with meat to make a sort of open taco. It's pretty good that way. The vermicelli absorb the sweet sauce and go together well with the beef and lettuce. The meat itself is extra delicious and to be honest, I'd be fine with just the meat and skip all the extras. My only small complaint is the dipping sauce was very cold, as were the noodles, so trying to mix the noodles with bites of meat quickly cooled down the beef. It's also a bit messy. I'm glad the sauce has most of its fishy flavor diluted because it seems easy to slop it around as you try to get a grip on the noodles. Service was quick and friendly, no problems at all. And I like the decor. Glass partitions, big wine rack, recessed lighting, a couple of outdoor tables. Plenty of space. This is not a complaint, just FYI: like most korean places in this area, the music and TV are K-pop, 24/7. I don't mind, the volume wasn't too high, but this type of atmosphere (combined with the goofy chemistry theme) means this place is more fun than fancy. Foods were not like pictures/description. Salmon lover rolls got no salmon roe likes menu picture (No roe at all). Udon came with zero fish cake when the description said there are fishcake in it. One of the server tried to convince us that tofu (Not much tofu either.. more like garnish) was fishcake. When they brought out fishcake, it has hairs in it. Update your online menu and add notes for modification!!!!!!!Some people' are allergic to certain foods, others do one eat meat for religious affiliations. For you all not to properly list the ingredients makes it a nightmare for those of us ordering : practically EVERYtHInG in your food had bacon. Fine if you like it but super, f*ing annoying when you don't list these items on your menu and the only way to order is through your website soooooo--- please update your menu and allow the ability for people to ask about potential modification. Btw you will add items like mushrooms and onions but fail to say it has chunks of pork? How does that make sense? Had high hopes as the concept looked interesting and they seemed to have a huge fusion menu with an "experimental" theme, however it seems they have not yet discovered vegetarianism in their laboratory since they had only a couple dishes out of hundreds that are vegetarian and are nothing special that I couldn't get in a more authentic restaurant (e.g. veggie ramen). Two Korean waiters kept suggesting dishes that had seafood or meat ingredients in them because they didn't seem to get the concept of vegetarian, and were totally inflexible to modify some dishes which could easily be made vegetarian. Just happened to be walking by and took a look at their menu on the window. I noticed they had drunken noodles on the menu and I love drunken noodles if it's done right. So the next day I gave the drunken noodles a try and wow one of the best drunken noodles I've ever had. Will definitely be back for the drunken noodles as well as try some of their other options. I normally don't like Asian fusion place, but I gave this restaurant a try. We ordered Takoyaki(octopus appetizer), salmon roll, and N3 jiang ppong (Korean seafood soup). Everything was so good. We especially loved the N3. Warning*: if you don't eat spicy, this is too spicy for you. N3 Korean seafood soup was super good. For less than $15, you get a huge bowl with lots of seafood including shrimps, mussels, and octopus tentacles. We were surprised that this soup price was very reasonable. Service: We didn't have a specific server. I guess they all just helped each other bc no one asked us how was the food, but another server came and offered water. So I wasn't sure who the tip would go to. I am usually really concerned who the tip goes to bc I have been a server before and I want my tips to go to those who deserve it, and not like to the boss. It reminds me of a little curry house I used to go to all the time when I lived in Japan. The chicken katsu was really good but honestly you could take the chicken off and it'd taste the same. The chicken doesn't have any super good seasoning. If you look at the chicken without the outside coating, you can tell it's seasoned, you just can't taste it. No real flavor. The spicy stuff is just uncomfortable to eat without any redeeming qualities or flavor. The Don Pas is absolutely flavorless as well. If you're mixing tonkatsu with pasta, the tonkatsu needs some sort of sauce or something to back it up because it's so dry and you're kinda left wanting for something a little more flavorful in either the pasta or the katsu. Too sweet for my taste. My friend order the fire cream paste, it was spicy but too creamy. Another order the fire jjamppong, the waitress said it's really spicy. It was a large dish, full of seafood. But the squid/octopus was over cooked, it was chewy. The shrimp was mushy. The noodles needed more time to cook and it was spicy but no flavor at all.
