Between the pathetic service, and disappointing menu, and the fact that the bathroom also smelled of septic backup, we won't be back. It's not for us.

The Spanish Coffee was one of the best I've had. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was how my food allergies were handled. I had included my dietary restrictions in our reservation and also called the restaurant the night before to make sure they could accommodate me. I was reassured after they checked with the kitchen that most items on the menu could be modified to work within my restrictions. Based on that conversation, I felt comfortable keeping our reservation. Since we were dining with others for a birthday celebration, I had hoped the information from my reservation and phone call would have been communicated to our server so I wouldn't need to go through all of my restrictions again at the table. Instead, I had to explain everything during dinner. Because the restaurant is extremely loud and the tables are packed closely together, our server had to stand across the table from me, which meant having to discuss my allergies loudly in front of our entire party and the surrounding tables. It was an uncomfortable and awkward situation. What was most frustrating, however, was then being told that my options were essentially limited to a protein and green beans. This was a far cry from what I had been told the night before that the kitchen could modify most items on the menu to accommodate me. I completely understand that not every restaurant can accommodate every allergy or dietary restriction, and I don't expect them to. My concern is that I specifically called ahead for this reason and relied on the information I was given. Had I been told beforehand that my options would be so limited, we simply would have chosen another restaurant where I could enjoy a nice meal along with everyone else for my husband's birthday. For anyone dining with significant food allergies or restrictions, I would recommend getting very specific information about what can actually be accommodated before making a reservation.

Plenty of gooey yummy cheese and toasted crispy bread I washed that down with a flight of very interesting beers. The one that took me by surprise is When Life Gives You Blueberries. Deceiving and sneaky. My nose thought I was going to drink wine and my taste buds were surprised with the tart-sour taste nothing like a beer. My husband had the chili dog and enjoyed it very much. I can say the beer was good (I had the Harp Lager) although it was small in comparison to other bars visited this night, but my girlfriend's phone was stolen in this restaurant. I cannot say for certain whether or not the bartenders stole it or it was some random scumbag, but I can say for certain I will not be coming back. I do not want to continue be around a bar that patrons or hires such scum. It was our first time in there and this happens. Highly, highly dissatisfied. The other complaint is that the portion of beer was not as much as other bars in the area. I can say for certain that Bagger Dave's has a somewhat larger portion for about the same price, and that Champ's Pub has a much larger portion for only $0.50 more, and I don't even know if the beer I chose was more expensive than other choices I could have made. I just know that it had a lot more, and they also gave free popcorn. read more

I can earnestly say that this is by far the worst experience I have ever had the misfortune of having at any establishment. Myself and some friends wanted to get a beer after work, six of us. We were denied service (the youngest person being myself at 23), because the incompetent and egomaniacal bouncer had never seen an Enhanced License in his life. All six of us had enhanced IDs so that we can go to Canada if we'd like due to our proximity to the border and the bouncer accused all of us having fake IDs DESPITE random people at the bar offering their enhanced IDs up to show that that's how they're supposed to look. Really do not understand how you can be paid to check IDs when you do not know what an Enhanced License is, really pathetic showing and there are many better businesses in Brighton that this one can be avoided at all costs. read more

Finally decided to try this place after hearing mixed reviews for a while and it was on the horrible side of the 'good' spectrum... After being rudely let in by the bouncer who had a total Napoleon complex, sat down outside and waited ages to be served from the outdoor bartender; finally, after what felt like ages, I was given the flattest tap beer of my life. Then, after looking at the terribly small menu (seriously very few options here), I decided on the Reuben. After, again, waiting for what felt like way too long, I received it. The first few bites of the sandwich were bleak and tasteless, would not recommend and have heard similar about other menu items. I do not plan on touching this place with a ten foot pole. One of the least enjoyable experiences I have ever had in my entire life, witnessed a confrontation between a bartender, the bouncer and a group of 5-6 people. The bouncer had NEVER seen an enhanced license in his life and was adamant that because he was too inexperienced to understand the situation, that this group was breaking the law and trying to buy alcohol with fake IDs. Next time will more than happily find a new bar to drink at, disgusting experience. read more

Not the kind of fella to write a review but... the food is good. Why a 1 star ? I've never heard a group of staff say hateful racial slurs. Like the "N word" so much! What you do with your own time is up to you but that made us very very uncomfortable. The table across from us cringed with us. I can't imagine being black and going there not knowing how they talk. Especially the older lady. Brighton community shouldn't tolerate that behavior. read more

The blackened salmon is not too bad, although a tad dry. Service got better after our order was placed, the start of it wasn't so good.
