We've been coming here for almost a yr. Sometimes 3-4 x/wk. The bar staff always take about 5 minutes to come talk to u. First greet can even be 10 minutes. Too long and they don't care! They also can't get a burger right. I ordered a Kobe burger (comes w/onions and shrooms) med we'll. Add cheddar. But they brought me a charred whatever burger with nothing but bun!!! This is our second time at this restaurant and their food is very good, the ambiance is that of a good restaurant/bar. This review and 5 stars is for their exceptional service and being in tune with their customers. My wife is vegan and she ordered a black bean burger with lettuce and tomato only (no cheese). When our order arrived the black bean burger had cheese and bacon on it. My wife explained that she was vegan and asked if they could please redo the burger. They went ahead and did in fact redo the burger the way she wanted. We did not think anything about it until it was time to pay our bill. The server advised that her food was comped due to her having to wait for her burger. We were not expecting anything since they made it right immediately but they went above and beyond. This type of customer service is remarkable specially during these times where a lot of restaurants are lacking in just that. Taking off one star due to the dismal service I received on my most recent visit. A new bartender that I've never seen seemed to be inconvenienced by my presence. She spent most of my visit talking to her friends at the other end of the bar. It's a good thing I didn't need my water topped off, because she never checked in after my food was served. Been going to this restaurant for 5 years now. Every time it's amazing. Their sushi selection is divine and mouth-watering. It's a treat anytime people visit our family to bring them to label and it's really a fun time had by all. Almost anything on the menu I would eat and I have had pretty much everything. I've been to all restaurants owned by the label company and overall I think this one is the best. I would give this place about 3.5 stars. It has good reviews but its ok nothing i would say would make me long to return every year. Service was ok, we were seated quickly as we got there about before the dinner rush, go before 5, but grilled items not til after 530. There phones were down for several days so no way to make a reservation. Our guess is there are few non-chain, unique restaurants in the area, so people come here where most meals will cost you about $15-20 plus more for appetizers, drinks, dessert, taxes. We ordered ahi poke it came as a salad, good taste, considering I grew up in Hawaii and know what it's supposed to taste like. Although you sort of have to search for the ahi, we're in Tenn, not sure how they can get fresh ahi without it being frozen, then thawed but I'm a snob when it comes to fish from Hawaii, fresh means that morning, off the boat, never frozen but i don't know how it was shipped, the lighting in the restaurant was good not too dark not too bright so the ahi still looked slightly translucent pink. It comes with chopped lettuce, small slices of avocado, chopped red inion, should have sliced it paper thin not chopped cause that overpowered bites of it, and chips. Again, not how we eat it but when you can't go to your local grocery store & buy a pound of ahi poke, just pure raw fish, lomied in Hawaiian salt, shoyu, sesame seed oil or kukui nut oil & some limu, well, u take what u can get. I would buy this again cause it's good enuf. My husband ordered a portabella mushroom sandwich he thought had a burger in, didn't, his fault. He asked for garlic fries, they were way over cooked. We told the wait person, she said it comes like that. We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary. They don't give u anything (comp) for special occasions but then we used to go to Boma's at WDW Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney always spoils you. However even chain restaurants gave us free tiny desserts for special occasions. We had a bread puddling with melted chocolate draped over it. Hubby liked it so I didn't say anything but the 3 bites i had, parts of the crust tasted like i was chewing on cardboard. Sad way to end my nite. I went home and had a soft donut that was 4 days old that tasted better. Hubby mentioned if we come back again how he would order blah blah. My birthday and our anniversary are days apart. I already want to try the other restaurants nearby. If they disappoint we'll go back to Cheddars or Asheville next year. read more

They are a steak and burger house, but the only real reason to go here is for the sushi during a half off night. The sushi is okay, its probably the best I have had in JC but thats not saying much as I have had better sushi from a strip mall sushi location just outside Nashville than in all of JC. Tried the Vegetarian"Impossible" burger w the works, as we are backing off on beef some. Granted it has a very long list of ingredients for this burger substitute, the texture was great and had good flavor--but of course not like a true angus burger. This is my s first time being here and I can say I had a below average experience. There was more negatives then positives. First let me state the aesthetic in this restarting has the potential to be great , it's very beautiful in a way gives you a nice cozy cabin feel that's open and has lots of natural lighting THATS IT oh and 2$mimosas on Sunday. Now, the wait for a table was 20 minutes they had a table available but they just did not sit us there until after waiting .The waitress gave you the vibe that she 100% did not like her job and she did not want to be there. I never got the message so clear, from her body language to her facial expressions you can tell she preferred to be at home watching Jane the virgin instead of being there. Then our food smelled like someone took 40 cloves of garlic and mixed it with melted butter and poured it all over our fries. Honestly it was like they where trying to keep vampires away . It was a very very very potent smell. To where I just didn't want it. Then my chicken was fried in bad oil I picked it up the meat slid right out of the fried coating YIKES. Love the Label Restaurant! My first time was in 2018 on Valentines day while I was on a work trip by myself. The food never disappoints and the service always seems to be on point as well. Apps - Crab Rangoon: Delicious and huge! None of those little bitty ones that are not filled with anything. The Labels are stuffed and the sauce that goes on top completes it. - Dumplings: These are pretty good as well but not anything special in my mind. Dinner: My favorite is the Blackened Salmon on the grits. So dang good! The mix of all of it plus the jam completes it. I also switch out the veggie offered with Brussel sprouts, which I normally hate! They do something with the Brussels that makes them perfect. read more

Tried it twice. I found that the reality doesn't match the hype - maybe they are just coasting on their reputation. Normally wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes to be seated when there are numerous empty tables, but out-of-town friends wanted to try it. Waited 30 minutes to be seated. Another 15 before waiter took drink order. Another 15 before drinks arrived and food orders taken. Food sloppily prepared and didn't match what we ordered. I have been to Label many times. It use to be one of my favorite restaurants. Today I came in with my family for lunch. My favorite roll is no longer on the lunch half price list because of an eel shortage which would have been an acceptable reason if the roll had any eel in it at all! Hint it didn't! But I ordered two regular rolls from the list and the rest of my family ordered 3 each. I let it go and moved on to the beer list. There were 2 in house labels that I had had before, one I liked much better than the other. But I couldn't remember which one I liked best. I asked if I could have a taste of just one to see if it was that one or the other, and she told me that samples were $0.50! Okay so $0.50 isn't a lot of money but considering the 16 Oz beer was $3 I just gambled. I have never been charged for a single taste in my life! Lol. But I chalked this up and made my choice and moved on for the second time during the meal. As time wore on I realized I was too hungry to wait for the sushi so I ordered fried pickles and they came out as expected and swiftly! I thought the tide of the meal was turning. I sipped my gambled on beer and waited on my sushi. Then it arrived. My daughter looked at her sushi and mine. Then at her dads and her sisters. She smirked and said "we got barbies sushi!" And she wasn't wrong. My husband and other daughter had pretty normal sized rolls. My daughter and I had the tiniest sushi rolls I have EVER seen! First I must give props for the utter skill it had to take to make Barbies sushi but my hunger from a late lunch on top of a morning workout was none too pleased. It was literally like nickel size around and like a 1/2 inch thick maybe 3/4 inch! It was so "impressive" I took a photo! Bottom line is we spent $60 plus tip (because it wasn't the waitresses fault for sure) on lunch and 3/4 of us left hungry. To the point that we actually felt the need to stop somewhere else to get food! We have been to label more times than I can count but each time lately something interferes with us having a good meal experience. We have learned not to order/eat the Parmesan fries appetizer because they either come out with the meal (if at all) or are so greasy or chopped so small that they are inedible. Not to mention at least two of us have had negative GI reactions to them. The sushi always takes forever which is normally not an issue because they are usually not minuscule and typically worth the wait. Given our favorite sushi roll is now excluded and the new barbie sushi versions are a possibility we no longer have a reason to return. It's sad. I don't care to gamble with my time and money. I can certainly get good quality sushi elsewhere for the same price. Im not sure what has changed but it is definitely not the place it use to be and as a result is no longer on my places to enjoy a meal out list! read more

This location has been here a long time -- used to be Cafe 112. As Label it has gone more upscale with wood fired steaks, gourmet burgers, fish tacos and still as sushi as well. This was a needed addition to downtown -- and a pretty successful addition. The service at times can be very slow and inattentive. This is the reason for a 4 ranking. The fish tacos are the lunch time star and quite good!! The fries come in several flavors including Parmesan garlic or waffle - all worth trying. The full bar has some real good wine options and they have drink specialties including adult shakes which are amazing and high end whiskeys!! A full sushi menu is available. I would rate the sushi as above average but not blow your socks off. For sure meets with a college palette - a sushi lover may be a little disappointed. Amazing restaurant. Liked the burger / sushi offerings. We stopped by one evening after a few days hiking. Appetizers were great. Garlic fries, Firecracker Shrimp, a spicy tuna roll, and potstickers all were wonderful. We ordered seconds of the shrimp. Everyone had a burger which were grilled perfect. I don't know why I haven't heard of this place yet. I enjoyed the atmosphere and music. I went with my husband on a Tuesday evening and we were seated promptly and were surprised on how quickly our food came. For an appetizer we had the crab rangoon. It was great with the spicy mayo and sweet chili sauce. We also had the volcano roll. We ordered the ghost pepper sauce on the side. The roll was great. I had the shrimp and grits for my entree and I was not disappointed. I loved the crunchy fried green tomato to contrast the grits and shrimp. The sauce with the smoked Gouda was tasty with a little spiciness. My husband had the grilled mahi mahi fish tacos. He liked them but there was a lot of juice in the taco that caused the tortilla to break. I think the taco would have been awesome with a handmade corn tortilla. It was served with a great little spinach salad that my husband enjoyed and he isn't usually much of a salad kind of guy. Overall, the service was great and timely and we enjoyed our experience at Label Restaurant very much and we will probably return again soon. read more

Honestly, looking at the menu prices (some may argue that it is a tad pricey), you would think that this is a place of higher standard. Although I will say, the food itself was delicious but that is not what my complaint is about tonight. The waitress herself (I will not name names as that is not what I'm here for), was very inattentive to us as guests. It is currently the day before Valentine's and the place is slightly packed, but the waitress we currently have has been MIA most of the night. As we sat at our table we did everything as normal for a restaurant this crowded but I still find the service lacking. We placed our appetizer order and it was over 40 minutes before we were checked on again for something even as simple as a drink refill. The ice in my drink was almost completely melted before I got my first refill. We ordered some special drinks which went MIA for almost twenty minutes before the waitress herself actually admitted that she had forgotten about us, and also spilling our drinks all over the table. Instead of trying to help us clean up by bringing napkins or the sort, my date had to actually resort to cleaning the mess that was not caused by us. Even as I am typing this review, the waitress has not checked or asked if she could help clean her mess she made. The one thing that saved this review from being a one star is the food. The food was actually really good but again the complaint was not about the food. We came here for a late night snack and drink. The service was good but we were sitting at the end of the bar and could hear the servers joking with the bartenders about which liquor customers actually wanted. My boyfriend ordered a chicken entree that smelled horrendous. Not sure if it was old chicken or if they didn't care about what they were serving because it was the end of the night.
