    Crème Brulee Milk Tea

The croffle was delicious!!! We tried the original and it was just the right amount of ice cream and croffle for a quick afternoon snack along with a drink too. I would frequent this place when I am in town.

Decided to try this place out because we were at Lacey for the day! The aesthetic of the store is so cute and I love the cow theme. The service given was amazing and they were quick as well. I could see this place as an amazing study cafe. I think the drinks were pretty good. The creme brûlée did t scream creme brûlée to me, more of just a tiger / brown sugar milk tea. Which is what it technically is. I think they put too much creme on the top that made it really thick to drink (even after shaking). The mango breeze was pretty good, but was way too sweet for our liking. Maybe we just need to adjust the sweetness. I do wanna go and try more flavors though, maybe these ones just didn't hit like we wanted it to.

I visited on a Friday afternoon around 2. The shop was clean and has their cow theme which is cute. I ordered a mango breeze. Simple order, no add in's. If I had realized I could drink it in less than ten sips, idk if I would have paid seven bucks for it. That is the going rate at most bubble tea shops in Washington. If I were to attempt it again, I'd ask for light ice, because drinking it all in less than two minutes was a shock and frustration.

Cute cozy boba cafe offering a variety of different milk/fruit tea flavors and toppings. They also offer Vietnamese drip coffee ("phin") and croffles (croissant waffles). The owners are super sweet and seem to always remember my typical orders (my favorites are the Thai Milk Tea with Crème Brûlée Topping and Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea 50% Sweet with Crème Brûlée Topping). Service is usually super quick and you can place your order ahead of time on Clover or DoorDash which is a huge plus! They are opened late as well! There are board games to play with as a group if you decide to sit down. Also a cute giant water buffalo statue that the kids would enjoy taking pictures with. Lots of topping options for your boba such as popping boba, crystal boba, different flavored jellies, foam/creme toppings. You can also adjust the sweetness and ice level as well.

What a cool little place to have a boba and a croffle. I've been there every day for the past three days because I'm slightly addicted to the creme brulee milk latte with boba, 1/2 sweetness (there's no coffee in it, just creamy creme brulee cheese foam). My niece always gets the taro milk tea with boba and today she tried the Oreo croffle which she liked. I'm getting the strawberry croffle tomorrow. There are four seating zones (stools at the window, tables near the front, lounge chairs near the front, and benches with tables and chairs lined up against the side wall. This place is very instagrammy with that cute moo cow as you come in and the soft round chairs that cup your body nicely. The staff is always nice and they really seem to appreciate their customers. Love this place. Glad I'm discovering this place before it blows up because it just has to with its good food and relaxing vibe.

we come here probably 3-5 times a week. the owners are incredibly friendly and kind. they even recognize us. the drinks are always top notch quality and consistently consistent everytime i order the same one. the inside is very cute im definitely buying a plush if i can!

Tasty new boba spot. The atmosphere was so cute, with nice seating options. Most importantly, though, the drinks were good. We got a strawberry matcha latte with boba and a brown sugar boba tea. We also tried the strawberry croffle. All delicious! A good place to bring a friend to catch up and get a sweet treat.

Came again and got a strawberry freeze, great! The staff is also very friendly and there is comfy seating and some board games to play if you want to chill.

Nice place and boba was good! Avocado is my fave! Tapioca was the perfect consistency.

I opted on the cheddar bay biscuit, got my man the cornbread, got the Oreo for my son, Cinnamon Toast Crunch for my daughter, and my niece also got the Oreo. Each one SLAPPED!!!! The chicken was also generously portioned and well seasoned. They did not disappoint. I enjoyed the art they selected in the building. They also had a couple humorous signs at the entry that make the place feel very chill and laid back. I'm looking forward to going back.

Oh yeah, let's get straight to it! My first introduction to Buddy's Chicken and Waffles was on YELP…read moreElite Badge Day back in January 2024. They were one of many vendors invited that day. Their spread included small bites of chicken and waffles, but because of my dietary preferences, I only sampled the waffles. I have to say I left that day feeling a bit disappointed, but I decided to give them another chance in the future. Fast-forward to this past spring for my college graduation party. For my food spread, I employed a mini "taste of the Tacoma-themed spread" with Buddy's as one of the options. I decided to order catering services from them. I have to say they really messed up. The order was placed and paid for three days in advance for pick-up (6 combos & 2 waffles). Their order wasn't ready; however, they made amends and comped us several items that we did not order for the inconvenience. More importantly, most of my guests from all across the U.S. spoke very highly of the chicken and waffles. That day I tried only the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle, and I once again felt unimpressed. But yesterday...yesterday was different. They say the third time is a charm. I arrived 30 minutes before closing, so I could only get carryout service. I was going to go with the options I've already tried: Blueberry and Strawberry Shortcake Waffles. While browsing the menu, I saw the Banana Cream Pie Waffle on the special board and decided to give it a try. This moment is where the story takes a significant turn. This is by far the best waffle I've had in the US. The waffle was amazingly fresh and crispy, coupled with a perfect blend of softness, a sprinkling of wafer crumbs, and bananas. This is by far my favorite waffle in all of Tacoma. In fact, anywhere in the world. I will give it a 20/10. If you are a vegetarian, I'd recommend ordering a serving of the crispy "Salt and Pepper Tofu" appetizer from Indo Asian Street Eatery to pair with these waffles. The pairing will get you close to or similar to the experience of the chicken strip pairing. I assure you there is no drop-off. My only complaint is paying $13 for a waffle. The waffle is a very nice size, and I do understand given current prices and the cost of doing business, but with $13 you can make several waffles in-house. But make no mistake. This is definitely worth it.

We had the breakfast waffle and the lox waffle. I also had a side of poached eggs. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. I loved that you can order your poached eggs soft med or hard. I'm genuinely a little confused about the hype surrounding this place and how it has earned "best…read morerestaurant" recognition because, food-wise, this was one of the more mediocre breakfast experiences I've had in a while. Being downtown, parking is already challenging. There's no convenient lot, so prepare to circle around and hunt for street parking. I was fortunate I found one spot in front. Once inside, though, I can see where some of the appeal comes from. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. The intricate decorations, dim lighting, and rustic/modern aesthetic definitely give it that trendy, upscale brunch spot vibe. But maybe I've been to enough pretty restaurants too many times because the moment I saw the interior, part of me thought, "Oh, we're about to pay for the aesthetic, aren't we?" And... yeah. Kind of did.. We walked in with a party of 7, and I will absolutely give credit where it's due: service was excellent. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The drink menu was also probably the best part of my experience. I ordered a steamed latte and REALLY enjoyed it. If I were rating just the service, atmosphere, and drinks, we'd be having a very different conversation. Unfortunately, we came here to eat too. I had looked at the menu beforehand, so I already knew waffles were basically the main character here. I'm not knocking them for a limited menu when that's literally their concept. What I wasn't expecting was for the actual waffles to look so underwhelming compared to the photos online and on the menu. If you're imagining big, thick, fluffy restaurant waffles... lower those expectations. These are much thinner waffles. That works fine when they're paired with eggs, potatoes, and other sides, but ordering one by itself is another story. My husband ordered the House Waffle for $12, and when it arrived, all we could think was L'eggo My Eggo. Twelve dollars for a waffle that looked like it could've come out of my freezer at home is wild. Needless to say, it wasn't particularly filling for him either. I ordered the Classic Breakfast Waffle, and it was mostly fine. I finished my plate, but there's a difference between finishing something because it's delicious and finishing something because, well, you paid for it. Both the flavor and my appetite afterward landed firmly in "satisfactory" territory. Bacon was thin, but poached eggs were good enough. The hash brown potato waffle, however? THAT was delicious. Easily my favorite food item of the meal besides my latte. Unfortunately, it was also fairly small. They also seem to be very committed to poached eggs here. Not necessarily a complaint or something I'd deduct points for, but definitely something to know if poached eggs aren't your thing. I didn't see any options for eggs made any other way on the menu. The rest of my family didn't exactly care for the food either. My mother didn't like the scent of the food, my son wasn't a fan of how warm the black cherries were with his waffle, my husband was thoroughly unimpressed with his lonely little classic waffle, and I left nowhere near as full as I expected considering how much money we had just spent feeding seven people. That's ultimately where this place lost me. I can accept smaller portions. I can accept a specialty menu. I can even accept higher prices when the quality makes me understand WHY I'm paying them. But when you combine small portions + mediocre food + upscale pricing, the math stops mathing for me. Three stars because the restaurant itself is gorgeous, the service was genuinely excellent, and my latte and hash brown potato waffle deserve the credit. But the actual breakfast (the reason we even came) was far too underwhelming for the price. Maybe I'm missing whatever everyone else is seeing, but this one was a "glad I tried it once" experience for me. I wouldn't recommend the food at these prices, and I definitely wouldn't come back for it.
