Abe's has been a staple in my brunch routine since the new management. Although they've relocated a bit further from me it's always nice to go and get my sweet and savory combination. the cookie butter bliss is a plain waffle drizzled with cookie butter, pecans, whip cream and a biscoff cookie. I also get a friend chicken breast on the side with a side of smoky aioli. There are several waffles on the sweet and savory menu and you also have the option to build your own. There's something for everyone.

If you're looking for a low-key breakfast joint, and top of the line waffles... you have to try Abe's! Good atmosphere out on the patio, and amazing food.

Was really worried when this truck left that area next to Northwest Beerwerks. Have been a fan of this truck since they were originally called Honeycuspe. Finally found out the truck can be found in that new complex near Heritage Distilling. Looks like they expanded their menu because I don't remember them having that many items. Sis got the Balsamic Vinegar on bacon with goat cheese and it was pretty good. I got the basic breakfast with bacon and sriracha aioli and it seemed more vinegary and less sweet than I last remembered it. They said we could sit in the dining patio of the brewery they were parked next to, which is best since the waffles won't be so great when they're cold and soggy trying to get them home. The servers were really nice and low key. Fun experience, but I feel the flavor has slipped since we last saw them. The waffles used to be craveable, not now it's just something I might try if I'm in the area and want something sweet because the savory waffles are just okay.

Great little food cart situated next to a ton of breweries. They have a good amount of seating available. The waffles are light and crispy, and the fried chicken is really tasty (also HUGE portions of chicken). Their house made beer cheese is awesome! Their house made BBQ is okay. It's really thick and you can really taste the caramelized onion in it! We were excited to try the potato cakes (got one cheesy and one regular) and they are WEIRD. I expected some kind of crisp shredded potato thing, but they're essentially mashed potatoes that have been tossed on a griddle. They're not bad, but not at all what I was expecting.

There were three of us dining in together today and we decided to order the Garlic Parmesan Fries to share! These were absolutely delicious and served on such a large platter. Perfect item to share. I ordered the Cookie Butter Chai Latte and Split Decision Sampler (pearl sugar and southern waffle, two eggs and choice of bacon or pork sausage). My boyfriend ordered the Bergamot London Fog. I didn't take a picture of the food he ordered, but it was one of the specialty eggs entrees. I was a little underwhelmed by my entree choice, however it was still good. I didn't want to be too stuffed, so it was a good choice overall. The service was great. Super friendly and energetic staff working, which made it a great experience. We were quite fortunate to arrive at a time where it wasn't too busy where we had a long wait to be seated!

So I googled Buddy's and found out they're less than a mile from my house. I had to try!! I was not disappointed. When I walked in, I was greeted by the server and she had a lovely smile. We ordered to go. The place smelled like a sweet waffle, it was very informal. They serve chicken, waffles and fries. Husband had Strawberry waffle and chicken and I had loaded fries. The chicken in my loaded fries was crispy and tender on the inside. Husband was so happy with his waffle and chicken too. Will I be back? Absolutely! Their spread included small bites of chicken and waffles, but because of my dietary preferences, I only sampled the waffles. I have to say I left that day feeling a bit disappointed, but I decided to give them another chance in the future. Fast-forward to this past spring for my college graduation party. For my food spread, I employed a mini "taste of the Tacoma-themed spread" with Buddy's as one of the options. I decided to order catering services from them. I have to say they really messed up. The order was placed and paid for three days in advance for pick-up (6 combos & 2 waffles). Their order wasn't ready; however, they made amends and comped us several items that we did not order for the inconvenience. More importantly, most of my guests from all across the U.S. spoke very highly of the chicken and waffles. That day I tried only the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle, and I once again felt unimpressed. But yesterday...yesterday was different. They say the third time is a charm. I arrived 30 minutes before closing, so I could only get carryout service. I was going to go with the options I've already tried: Blueberry and Strawberry Shortcake Waffles. While browsing the menu, I saw the Banana Cream Pie Waffle on the special board and decided to give it a try. This moment is where the story takes a significant turn. This is by far the best waffle I've had in the US. The waffle was amazingly fresh and crispy, coupled with a perfect blend of softness, a sprinkling of wafer crumbs, and bananas. This is by far my favorite waffle in all of Tacoma. In fact, anywhere in the world. I will give it a 20/10. If you are a vegetarian, I'd recommend ordering a serving of the crispy "Salt and Pepper Tofu" appetizer from Indo Asian Street Eatery to pair with these waffles. The pairing will get you close to or similar to the experience of the chicken strip pairing. I assure you there is no drop-off. My only complaint is paying $13 for a waffle. The waffle is a very nice size, and I do understand given current prices and the cost of doing business, but with $13 you can make several waffles in-house. But make no mistake. This is definitely worth it.

The bacon was cooked perfectly--not too crispy or too soft--and had amazing flavor. The eggs were well-seasoned, which is something you don't always find at breakfast spots, and the breakfast potatoes were just as tasty. I HAD to order the French onion soup (practically a mandatory order for me whenever I see it on a menu). Le Sel Bistro definitely met my expectations because it was rich and flavorful with plenty of cheesy, savory goodness. Mmmm! Definitely had me satisfied along with my entrée. I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious. I love me a good pork belly and this was a unique twist on the classic Eggs Benedict that I had to try, adding a savory flavor that complemented the dish perfectly. Everything was cooked well and beautifully presented. My friend ordered the (classic? Daily special?) French toast and completely demolished his plate before I had even finished mine! It looked incredible, and by how quickly it disappeared, we agreed it tasted pretty good (I had a small bite). The ambience and décor are exquisite, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that's perfect for a leisurely brunch. We dined indoors, enjoyed a great conversation over our meal, and never felt rushed. The customer service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. While the prices are a bit high if you're comparing it to a typical breakfast spot, they're exactly what I'd expect from a bistro. I'd recommend budgeting at least $25+ per person if you're ordering a meal. Between the quality of the food, the inviting atmosphere, and the excellent service, I felt it was well worth the price. I would totally recommend this as a fancy breakfast location and would return to try more of the menu.
