I was pretty disappointed with this place. The people are nice, but overall the service was subpar. Honestly I also wasn't impressed with the food. Chips and salsa weren't free, and they weren't great either. Food and drinks were way overpriced (Even for 30A) and just were not good. Really disappointed in our food, the place. First and last time. Chips were awful, my shrimp tacos, were so spicy they had to make me a fresh order. My husband hates sending back food, they should warn you how "spicy" the food is. NEVER AGAIN, the place needs some ambiance, it was pretty empty , that should have been a sign to leave. Not the best but not the worst either. Everything needed more seasoning. Salsa tasted like ketchup - needed more garlic, onion and cilantro. My chicken burrito bowl tasted like the chicken was cook days ago. Very dry. Ordered a pitcher a margaritas w patron and could not taste alcohol in it. The chips were the best part. Definitely try the La Bamba Queso Dip - it was amazing! The margaritas were great as well! Not as impressed with the entrees. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was so soggy from the juices it sat in that I couldn't eat it. Also the service was so-so. I am SO excited about this new find in one of my favorite lil beach towns, Seacrest! My family had been raving over the freshness, flavor, and atmosphere, so I just had to come see for myself! First of all, HOW CHARMING! The decor, the outside veranda, all nestled into the cozy little town square. So inviting you just wanna walk right in. Second, the margarita. If you know me at all I am forever questing to find the best. It was rumored that these sweet concoctions were the best in 30a. I am pretty sure they were! Not too tart, not too sweet! The perfect mix and the perfect drink! After that? The main event. THE FOOD. My favorite food is taco anything. So naturally I went with a ground beef taco and it was up to par with some of my favorite back home in Jax. I love the pick two and pick three options so you can mix and match and try a little bit of everything. My mom got the beef enchilada, and my word. So good. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and the food was phenomenal. And the prices were excellent, as well! Cap all this off with solid service? Well, y'all have made a believer out of this girl! I would not recommend going to La Cocina. This restaurant was way over priced for the portions and flavor. The food was not good at all. Our waiter was very kind and responsive which was nice. The front desk people were very rude though. If you do want to go to this restaurant, do not go at happy hour. It was more expensive than dinner. read more

Last year we had such a good visit to LaCo we decided to go again for dinner our second night in town. After waiting for an hour (no big deal--there are lots of shops to explore before they text you for your table) we were seated. Our drink order was immediately taken and our quest dip appetizer ordered. However, as three parties who were seated after us, including a party of 12 teenagers, were served their food we started to question where our food was despite being reassured it was on its way. I kept seeing our waitress glance our way but she must not have ever followed up with the kitchen because after waiting an hour a manager came over and said our order (which was only two orders or chicken nachos and two kids meals) was lost. I was understanding and said I could tell they were busy. Our waitress brought us a comped salsa (which we could not eat due to dietary restrictions) and we waited 15 more minutes before our food arrived. Our nachos were cold as if they had been sitting for too long after being baked. By this time our children were melting down and only ate a few bites of their over-priced kids meals. I complained that our food was cold and they said they would comp them, but they had already said that when we waited over an hour. So we were charged $36 for a bowl of queso, a margarita (since I never got asked if I wanted another one in the hour we sat waiting for our food), and two kids drinks. We couldn't even eat the cold nachos. The manager came back over to apologize and said they were experiencing growing pains which was nice but we still didn't get to eat dinner. Honestly if our kids weren't with us we would have walked out. Never again will we waste an entire night of our vacation at this place. read more

I'm sorry folks this is not a large/Jumbo.. they said this is all we have. By then I had already stupidly ordered my 15.00 quesadilla.. Yes 15.00. While it was tasty they had all this fancy sauce and crap on it which I dont need... by this time I was like, whatever. Got the bill and that "jumbo" maragertia was 10.00. While on vacation, my wife and in-laws were able to experience some otherwise unavailable (non-franchise) dining establishments. I'm not certain whether La Cocina Mexican Grill is a franchise but the fact they were able to revamp the menu lends one to think they aren't. Full disclosure - my wife and in-laws had been to this establishment before. For me however, it was my first (and second) time in three days with dinner on both occasions, the experience was noticeably different from the first to the second night. The first meal was fraught with problems. Although the quality of the food was "predictable", "acceptable" or even "typical", the service was by no means typical. It was abysmal. The wait staff was under represented as a whole, but what WAS there, tried very hard to make up for their short supply. It appeared to be like watching very determined and skilled tennis players playing tug-a-war with NFL linemen. Over their heads but struggling to stay afloat for the sake of the customers and just plain pride. After we left, I was certain we wouldn't be back. The in-laws had other plans. Two nights later we were walking to our dinner destination and I was surprised they felt like giving this place another shot. By now though, I had some preconceived idea what to expect, I could prepare. Long wait, average food and struggling staff. Nothing of the sort occurred. See, unbeknownst to us, that night was the launch of a new menu. With the new menu was specific staff changes. With the staff changes and the new menu came excitement and energy. Okay so here we go. Preconceived notions - out the window! Service, very attentive. Still some bumps but Patrick, the restaurants' manager, assured us they recognize the bumps and in due time, they too will be corrected. So for now, greatly improved overall service. But the food... spectacular! New chef is clearly an improvement. If you had gone prior to 6/12/2018, go again. For your sake. Bear in mind, there may be bumps. You can always tell how your meal at a Mexican restaurant is going to be based on the chips and salsa. Luckily, the salsa that was plunked down upon arrival was thick and laced with cilantro and chipotle. For my entrée, I ordered the seafood quesadilla. Wow! So delicious and such a huge portion that I took home half and ate it for lunch the next day. We sat at the bar and the service was ok. Bartender was a bit grumpy despite not seeming overly busy. He was attentive at least so not too much of a black mark. Everyone always talks about Hector so I guess I will have to look for him when I return. read more

So sad to write this as I am a long-time fan of this restaurant but tonight was probably our last visit. On the positive side we were seated promptly and the service was GREAT! On the negative side the revamped menu and pricing is out of the ballpark, even for this area. I take offense at paying $3 to have chips and salsa at my table in a Mexican restaurant. My husband got tacos that looked like they were from Taco Bell - small shells with a couple of tablespoons of meat, a smattering of cheese, L&T for $5 each then had to add another $6 to get rice and beans. Taste was good but value for the money was poor. Same comment on my quesadillas - good taste but way overpriced and did not include any side items or even sour cream or guacamole. They have priced themselves out of my willingness to pay. I know this is a tourist area but the value for the money here is just unacceptable. read more

We've been coming here for years and it's always been fine but the food last night just wasn't good. All of the meat tasted like it was leftover and had been reheated. My daughter couldn't even stand the taste of the "fish" in her fish taco. The chicken just didn't taste right. Not only did it not have very much flavor, it tasted old. Excellent food each time we've been. Only reason for the 4 out of 5 star rating is they forgot two entrees for our dinner party of 11. After all the other dishes came out, they had to cook the missing orders. They were quick to correct the issue but we found it odd that they completely missed entering the two dinners. Having come to 30A for years now, this is one of the most underwhelming establishments I've visited yet. The food is alright but it certainly is not up to par enough for the inadequate and substandard service. After being seated a waiter did not come to the table for an extended period of time and when drinks were ordered they did not arrive out for almost 15 minutes. The servers were extremely negligent to the tables when the restaurant was hardly busy. Overall, 2 out of 5 stars based solely off unsatisfactory service. read more

I was in PCB for vacation and stayed in the community where la Cocina is. My mom and I was waiting outside because it opened at 11, so we were sitting outside for about 20 minutes prior. At 11 I tried opening the door and the hostess just watched me. It wasn't until about 11:06 when someone who was already in the restaurant for breakfast tried to get out is when the hostess opened up the door. That was weird. Other than that I had the chicken quesadilla, it honestly tastes like canned shredded chicken if you ask me and my guac was brown. I love Mexican/Latin food. I can probably eat it daily.. but we were hesitant going to eat at La Cocina because we had just got to Rosemary, wanted to check other places out rather than just going to the go-to Mexican place. But turns out we did and MANNN I'm glad we did. Everything was great. Everything.. from the food, drinks, service, our waitress, the atmosphere ...we couldn't have asked for a better experience. I also loved how diverse the business was. Our Ukrainian server was so sweet and knowledgeable of the menu..she knows what she's doing and deserves a raise.
