This is one of my favorite restaurants on 30A! Whether I am in the mood for a couple of simple grass fed beef Throw Back Tacos or an exquisitely prepared fresh catch, the food is always great. Dinner the other night did not disappoint! I ordered the day's fresh catch which was snapper a duo of sauces over a warm quinoa salad with heirloom tomatoes and pepitas. The fish was cooked perfectly and the tomatillo avocado sauce and the ancho peach reduction brought all the flavors together. Truly one of the best bites I have had anywhere! Stopped in for a Valentine lunch and found this gem! Not only was the selection on the menu diverse but also had a guide menu for food allergies. We ordered guacamole to start and it was the best restaurant prepared I ever tasted. My husband ordered the veggie quesadilla and I the chopped kale w/ shrimp salad and a side of black beans. The quesadilla was fresh made and huge! He gave it 5 stars. My kale salad was amazing and the waitress told me they hand made it to assure there was no cross contamination for my gluten allergy ( I always appreciate that). It was scrumptious! We had our 2 children with us. I won't mention the MONSTROUSLY slow service because it's July 4th weekend. I mean that happens. I get it. That's fine if it took 30 minutes to get napkins. What I can't stand are children's menu chicken fingers for 8 dollars. 2 CHICKEN FINGERS! Are you out of your mind? These were standard children's menu chicken sticks. Not one sliver of truffle on them. 8 dollars. Am I being clear? You can get like 40 nuggets at McDonald's for a dollar and they tastes better than this. Overall the food was very good. The restaurant was very rowdy and it was difficult to hear the waitress, she also missed orders due to this. The classic tacos were great, and the guacamole, salsa and queso were all very good. My sister said her iced tea tasted like soap, and the ceiling fan dripped onto my seat, so I moved chairs. This restaurant continues to decline. We have been here three times over the years and probably won't come back. Bar area is pretty bland with no atmosphere and way to see in the restaurant. Top shelf margaritas are good. Dinner service was ok. Fish tacos were average and my wife's veggie burrito came out cold. Management was nice and offered a new entree but we declined. Average food overall but the main thing again is atmosphere has changed. Hope things turn around because first time we ate there it was really good and fun. read more

I've lived in Los Angeles and Atlanta but this mexican restaurant at the beach has the best chips and salsa I've ever tasted! The service was right on even though they were crazy busy (Hector waited on us). I got the mole enchiladas because I love mole sauce and it was really tasty. Our margaritas mixed with sangria were also perfect and refreshing. What an awesome addition to 30a - they need more places of this caliber on 30a!!! read more

We have been coming here over the past 6 years.Sometimes we would come for lunch and dinner.Last night was probably the last time we will come to LaCocina.Everything has changed here and we just don't like it anymore.Having to pay for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant is just unheard of!My son and husband ordered burritos and it just came on the plate with no beans or rice???You have to pay for every little thing (even by itself it's already very expensive)which is ridiculous!You have to order everything a la Cart which also gets pretty expensive.Im sorry it has just lost the good feel ,charm and magic it used to have.It needs to go back to what we all love about Mexican restaurants and what we used to love about LaCocina...especially coming off the beach starving!The atmosphere just seems cold and a little snobby.Goodbye LaCocina! read more

Atmosphere is a beach-casual with a mid-scale hispanic overtones. Kudos to the staff and atmosphere. Wait time for food once seated with a party of 8 was about 40 minutes. Only reason for 4 compared to 5 star rating. Lobster quesadillas were fantastic with generous portions of crab, lobster, and shrimp in a classic flour tortilla with exceptional chipotle sauce. I have no idea how this place has been open for as long as it has. The food is closer to sewage than dog food. The chicken burrito was flat, full of canned refried beans, and barely had any chicken in it. The chicken that it did have must have been harvested from the leftovers of chicken parts used to make McNuggets, a stringy flavorless mass of wood shavings. Even the rice, which is very hard to mess up, was more like turtle food, and even a turtle would have scoffed. It seems like La Cocina has little to no competition and as a result, they cut about every corner when it comes to food preparation, and are still rewarded. Keep your distance. read more

I absolutely love this place! I make sure we visit at least once when we are staying at Seacrest. Love their food selection--I would highly recommend the Lobster Quesadilla and the pineapple or caliente margarita. A few weeks ago we were there and they were very busy so my family just sat at the bar. We were served by a brunette female bartender who was super nice and very attentive! I found this place while staying at the Villages of South Walton and have been back for every trip to 30A since then. The service is fantastic - Hector has served us twice and his response to what ever we ask for is "whatever you want." The drinks are strong and yummy, be sure to try all of their exotic mojitos. I was shocked at how good the cherry was. Their taco plate and the seafood chimichanga are amazing. Don't miss the brisket and the carnitas in the tacos. Oh - and the guacamole is some of the best I ever had. Love love love this place and you will too! read more

My family loves this place. Their salsa was a unique flavor, which I found addicting. My father and I ordered their version of a chimichanga, the first time I've ever had one, and I was not disappointed. The burrito was stuffed with meat, no fillers. I couldn't even finish half of mine. My husband had a beef burrito and absolutely loved it, also finding the portions to be huge. The consensus around the table (6 of us) was a big thumbs up. We came in yesterday afternoon from Atlanta. Went with a large party and sat in the bar area. Had Denise as our waitress. She is amazing. She remembered all 10 orders without writing a single thing down....needless to say we were all shocked every order came out correct and VERY fast. If there is a wait for a table, go to the bar area and sit at a high top. Full menu offered and drinks!! Plus you can request Denise as your server and get everything quickly. The food was good enough, but two things disappointed me. First, there was about a ten minute wait for a table, despite us seeing several tables that were unoccupied. It was a Saturday night at the tail end of the high season and it appeared they were not completely full staffed. Second, and most importantly, the margaritas are only maybe five or six ounces and are $8. After a seven hour drive with two pre-schoolers, this dude wanted a BIG margarita. read more
