This salon is close to my house so about 4 months ago I walked in hoping it would be a great experience. First of all, it's kind of a weird layout, I entered from the parking lot (not the street side). It wasn't real clear where to check in and oddly there was no one around to greet me. After about 10 minutes, someone appeared and came over to get me set up with a tech. Seemed like gel x was mostly what they did so had that done. While the tech was working on my nails, a client walked in to show her that her nail popped off after just one day (should've been my first clue) and she needed it redone. Fast forward, one of mine popped off 3 days later, I went back to have it redone like the previous client, and then the gel completely chipped off on 2 other nails a couple days after that! Really? I'm retired and honestly don't abuse my hands/nails. Just daily routine stuff. The staff there did not seem experienced; it was almost like they were students who were still figuring out how to apply gel x nails. So, didn't waste my time going back a third time. I've since found an amazing salon with an experienced, on-site owner and highly trained, knowledgeable technicians who create the most beautiful nails -- from gels to acrylics -- that continue to look amazing for weeks. read more

I joined one of their memberships that includes 3 services per month. I went yesterday for a mani and had a wonderful visit. The shop is so pretty and clean. My manicurist was really sweet and did a fantastic job. I love how easy it is to check in via a tablet, and you can pay & tip on either that or the staff iphone. I really don't ever leave negative reviews, but I just moved to the area and this salon was recommended so I tried it out for my maternity pictures that I'm getting done tomorrow. I sat there for 2 hours for gel removal and just a simple mani, no gel, which I never do and deeply regret. I asked for a sheer lavender polish.. it was definitely not sheer but it was pretty so I kept it. The polish was SO thick and chunky and she tried thinning it out 3 times but it did no good. Like I said, I was there for 2 hours, I'm very pregnant and I needed to get out of there to run errands, I sat under the dryer for 10 minutes but with the polish being so thick I guess it didn't dry all the way even though I was being careful. After getting home and doing some further inspection the manicure wasn't even good, I'm just very frustrated because now I am taking this polish off and painting them myself and I suck at it and why I pay to get my nails done and I'm upset that they are going to look horrible for my pictures. I had tried downtown location 4-5 years ago and wasnt a big fan of my mani-pedi experience so I never went back until I heard that they opened in the neighborhood. I was also seeing such great press on social media from friends for them so I decided to give it another shot as they had the kids service free promo for month of Jan. I tried the mommy & me pedicure with my daughter and we both loved it!! It is a great vibe & decor just feels clean and posh as you enter. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. This place is overpriced with terrible customer service. I've never been treated as bad as this place treated me. Luka was rude, disrespectful and did not care at all how my nails looked. Instead of a relaxing spa day with my little cousin, I paid $350 in total (2 dew effect mani/pedis for us both) to be treated like a damn cadaver. My toe AND finger cuticles were snipped to the skin, not once but twice ON BOTH! It literally took me 2 weeks to actually formulate this because I could not believe I blew that money on a mani/pedi that started chipping off in a week. Go literally ANYWHERE else! I hardly ever get my nails done but I was taking my niece out for a mani and school shopping as a little treat for her. My nail tech was nice and at first looked like she did a good job however my gel nails began chipping off within days and they were completely peeling off in less than a week. I wanted to update my review after my recent experience to help others avoid the W. I tried giving the salon another chance as the girls who work there are very sweet and kind and it's convenient location wise. However, the way the W handles their business through a central call center is absolutely horrible. They also do not offer enough training or autonomy to their own staff. It's honestly embarrassing for them as a business and I'm tired of no accountability so posting specifics here. I got a gel x mani that during the application was not curing correctly. Two staff members tried to help the stylist but they didn't know why. She did her best but upon arriving home the nails were already popping up that night. So I tried contacting the salon to have them removed. This was extremely hard as you can't call the salon and the central phone has a loop that only wants you to talk to a chatbot that only book's appointments. Evidence the W does not care about clients and only their bottom line! I was finally able to leave a vm that went unreturned. I then tried texting a reminder number that did respond as a human. They rebooked me only for me to show up for the new appointment where the salon had NO IDEA why I was there and what for. The stylist didn't know it was a gel x removal and struggled to get it off. I then got a regular gel manicure that is chipping after less than 24 hours. The worst part was the salon didn't know why I was there to be booked appropriately and comped without my having to haggle. I felt bad for the girl who was sweet and did everything she could to get this appointment comped. She was attempting to reach the impossible main line to see about a refund to my past appointment which was very kind of her too. Again the staff is super great and tries their best within the limitations of the business model. W please do better for your staff and clients. read more

I hate being a Karen but I have to post this. I wish I could give negative stars. We just moved to New Albany and I was excited as this place is close to me and I was planning to buy a membership. I get my nails done every two weeks and have been getting them done for atleast five years. This place apparently does not take off dip which I didn't realize until I was reading the fine print of the details of my appointment. I kept calling to try and reschedule so I could take my dip off myself beforehand, yet no one picked up or called me back. I go in and they clearly weren't busy and the person at the front desk was chilling texting on her phone. Not sure why they couldn't pick up. Then I'm told they have to charge me the full amount for my service but that they WONT see me because they don't take off dip. Sorry you lost out on a long term customer. What a scam. read more

I want to start by saying Louise and Shanna did their best to remedy the issues that came up during my services and were both very sweet and helpful. The major issue here is that the services are outrageously overpriced and not worth the cost in my opinion. The same services in Southern California are half the price for better service. Just moved to the area from out of state and was looking for a place for my new mani/pedi spot. I cannot emphasize how disappointed I have been in the services here. I first got the Lulu pedicure which was okay. The tech was sweet, the massage was nice, however there were issues with nail art. I specified I wanted nail art for my appointment. Nothing crazy, just a little flower. Back home this is super common and done everywhere so I assumed a place such as this that boasts such great nail art on their social media would be able to do it. Turns out two of the techs could not create such art and I was told it's because I wasn't getting a gel pedicure; that nail art is better for gel. This must be preference because I've never heard that before and only ever have gotten nail art with regular polish. I was offered a discount for a future appointment so I got a gel manicure. Honestly, it was absolutely disappointing and again NOT worth the money ($45- although mine was discounted at about $20- still not worth it). The appointment was supposed to come with the "can't live without massage" but turns out I could live without it because I never got one. The tech got a little lotion and put it on my hands, it could not have been more than 15 seconds. At checkout when Shanna asked how my services were I asked if my service was supposed to come with a massage and she said yes. So either they have a different definition of massage or it was completely left out of my services. Further, after getting home I realized several of my nails were left with sharp edges from how the gel dried. The tech did take a nail file to soften edges but honestly missed about half my nails. This lead to them catching on things and pulling up sooner than they should have. The services here are just ridiculously overpriced. I don't understand how people here are willing to pay these prices. I will say the place is clean, smells nice, is trendy looking, and everyone was very nice. The managers were nice and did do their best to make things right which was appreciated. All that being said, I would not return and would not recommend this place to others unless prices were slashed by at least a third with improved services. read more

I want to like this place. I have tried it now maybe 4 times. My first experience was wonderful. But each time it's gotten worse. I went for a pedicure that is about 20% more expensive than other salons. My scrub was maybe 10 seconds a foot. I definitely still have rough feet, she didn't even put any effort into it. I can't say I received a massage. What I got was a small amount of lotion rubbed on my foot. And then my polish job was a complete disaster. I was supposed to only be there for an hour. But I was there more like an hour and a half, not from being pampered but because my nails looked very sloppy. The technician was nice but she had no business working there. That will be the last time I ever go there. Staff needs major training. read more

This is going to sound like a negative review, but bear with me. My daughters and I had mani/pedi appointments leading up to my elder daughter's wedding. Fortunately, she was happy with both her manicure and her pedicure. My younger daughter only got a gel manicure and she was happy with the results, although she thought the polish was a bit thin. Forward to me, I was happy with the pedicure, but the gel manicure was not the best. The polish was very blobby. It was my first, so I didn't know what to expect. When I mentioned it to the technician, she said that it would smooth out. Unfortunately, it did not. She should not have moved forward with that polish or thinned it. Something, anything. I did not have time to go back in before the wedding and decided to live with it, since no one would be looking at my hands. I was not the bride. When the dust from the wedding settled, I contacted the nail bar and explained my situation. They were happy to redo my nails, but since this was not something I wanted to continue doing, I asked for a refund and to have the polish removed. They immediately refunded the money for my manicure and set up an appointment for the removal. During this appointment, I found out that the tech that did my nails was very new and had not yet taken her state boards. She was working as a graduate with a work permit. I was in an unhappy situation but The W Nail Bar took care of my issue with hardly any effort on my part. They said that my original technician would get coaching so that she is not so timid to correct an issue before it becomes something that needs to be dealt with. I'm not a fancy nail person, I'm too hard on them to waste money on beating them up. BUT, I will happily get another pedicure. Thank you for making it right! read more

I've always had a great experience with this place until today. I had an appointment scheduled to have gel removal on my fingernails and toes with a gel mani and pedi. Well, I decided the day of my appointment to get only gel removal and not have gel put back on my fingers and toes. So, as the nail tech is doing my gel mani, she doesn't say a word to me that I would still be charged for all those services I wasn't getting now. She just made conversation about her cats and her life. Then, I wait around after and they eventually get me in to have the gel removed on my toes. This was a different nail tech who took the gel off my toes. NEITHER nail tech said a WORD about being charged for the services I decided not to get. It wasn't until I get to the check-out counter that the nail tech who took the gel off my toes, tells me that I was still going to be charged for ALL services I booked even though all I got was gel removal. They charged me $137 to have gel taken off my fingers and toes and said it was their cancellation policy. I would've absolutely just gotten all the services I had scheduled done if one of the nail techs would've told me I was still going to be charged full price regardless of what I got. And then one of the nail techs (the girl who took the gel off my fingernails) lied and said she warned me that I was going to be charged regardless. Don't you think I would've just agreed to get the services done if she would've told me this? I'll never go back to the W Nail Bar as they clearly have ZERO integrity or respect here. i had a pedicure at this salon on Wednesday 11/30. I was a walk-in and the person who made my appointment told me that they could fit me in in about 1/2 hour. THey got me in at the designated time with Jordan. I have to say that this was the worst pedicure I've ever received. She trimmed my nails to short so the big toes both bled. she didn't have enough of my chosen polish so she chose another one which was not even close. my nails look awful. And the big toes are both so jagged they put a hole in my sock. She was also rude to her co-workers. I regret not saying anything at the time but they were doing some filming or something so it didn't seem like a good time. But I will never go there again. read more
