Lados is a Pakistani and Indian restaurant that started in 2018 as a food truck, but they're coming up on the 1 year anniversary of opening up their permanent restaurant. They're serving up a variety of halal food including chicken sandwiches, paratha wraps, chicken wings, curry dishes, and others. This was my first time going, and I tried The Zinger. It's a piece of Pakistani fried chicken topped with cheese, lettuce, and their zinger sauce inside of a sesame seed bun. It also comes with a side of seasoned fries. The first thing I noticed is just how big the sandwich is. It's probably the biggest chicken sandwich I've ever had, and it's can definitely be enough to split if you're not feeling super hungry, especially with the fries. The breading is a little spicy (probably medium) and a perfect amount: thin but still enough to be crunchy. The chicken itself is juicy. Right now, in addition to order ahead pickup, they also offer outside dining. It's a covered area with 6 tables and string lights. They aren't doing table service though, so you order at a tablet then wait for your order which you can take to go or hang out at one of their tables. Lados is delicious and relatively affordable (only $10.99 for a huge chicken sandwich and fries), so I'm definitely planning to go back and try some of their other items. read more

Wow super surprised by how good the food is here! The Zinger is one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've had, ever. Wouldn't have expected that from a Pakistani food truck. The Zinger is huge (plan to share or have leftovers), perfectly deep fried and tender dark meat inside, flavored with a light and surprisingly complementing curry flavor. We've come here 4-5x ever since our friends introduced Lados to us a few months ago. We ordered their zinger paratha wrap and kebob bomb burger tonight. The wrap is something we always get, they use the same chicken/sauces as the zinger burger and place it into this deeeelicious paratha (flatbread). Just look at that chicken to wrap ratio! Definitely make sure you have some napkins around. It was my first time getting the kebob bomb burger and the burger patty itself was full of spices and flavors - my husband really liked it but I think it was a bit overpowering for me. The bottom slice of bread was also too soggy by the time we drove it back home, couldn't lift it up without it falling apart :( We've tried their zinger burger, crisper whisper burger, and tika masala - all of which are delicious. Also like the seasoning on their fries! The last two trips we've made here (both on a Friday night), they have been extremely busy so we did have to wait a bit longer than our quoted time on the phone order, so just a note on that in case you are famished! First time at Lados, and probably my last. Overall, this place is located in a run down location. The parking lot looks like a junk yard for salvaged cars. The restaurant is very dirty. The workers up front do not understand English and therefore made no attempt to comply with our preferred requests, e.g., no cheese, no tomato, no mayo, etc. Food was not hot, and the side fries were in fact, cold. We tried the zinger burger, the wings, chole, shami, and the beef chapli burger. None of it was memorable. Another turn off was the fact they had every soda flavor available under the sun except for anything Diet. Bathrooms were dirty, they ran out of ketchup, and the miniature stainless steel water cups were extremely small (around 2-4 oz each) which meant for a party of 11 people, someone or another was constantly going up for refills every 1-2 minutes. I was not a fan of the food or the dirty ambience. I give 2 stars total: One because they serve halal meat, and 2. Because they have a decent area and accommodations for prayers onsite. I had a great date this past Saturday. My cousin wanted to hangout w/ Gavin then take him to a birthday party for close to 6 hours. I still wanted to dine there. + chicken paratha + chicken tikka masala fries I almost cried when I took my first bite of the paratha; so juicy, fresh, and comforting. It's like I should have ordered 10. Next were the fries which was just as amazing-tasting. Lados has a very unassuming look from the outside that's very easy to miss. Don't be fooled though. This could be their ploy to lower expectations before they wow you. I visited them on Jan 1 2021, still dining as COVID protocols would allow. Their dining space is well lit and has a lot of elements of pakistani culture and south east asian hospitality. It was one of the few places that made me want to visit them once things opened up for dining once again. I got a zinger paratha roll and a chapli kebab roll along with an order of the lados fries. The zinger roll is a piece of fried chicken a la KFC with "Ayesha's secret sauce". The chicken was perfectly cooked, crisp and we'll seasoned. The roll was a little small in my opinion and left me wanting more. The chapli kebab roll was not really a kebab but the roll itself tasted good. Mildly spiced as before, there was a few different flavors at play that I enjoyed. The fries were a tad disappointing as the sauce that was added made it really soggy. My 20 minute drive back home was probably to blame but in case of to go orders, i think it may have been better to give the sauce on the side to not result in soggy fries. I'll definitely go back to try more of their menu. Lastly, be sure to try the chai they offer while waiting for the order. This place is a gem in South bay area. I found out about it only recently otherwise would have visited long back. I tried chicken Zinger burger and chapli kabab. Both were above my expectations. I was tired of eating Afghani chapli kabab in all restaurants that offer it, and I have been looking for original Peshawari chapli kabab for ages. This place comes 90%+ close to original recipe, which is quite a feat thousands of miles away from Peshawar. A few suggestions I have for the owners: 1) Please get the parking lot entrance pavement repaired, it's full of deep cracks and gaps spoiling vehicle suspension. 2) The sauce with burger can be improved in taste. Maybe with some more garlic/mayonnaise flavors. 3) If chapli kabab is served with a side of mint yogurt chutney in same size as sauce given with burger, it would complete the flavor. 4) The only thing I frowned upon forwas some chewy fat in middle of the chicken burger. It was a small piece that I had to spit out, but not enough to decrease the rating. If the chicken pieces can be thoroughly cleaned off fat/veins it would be great. I would visit definitely again with friends. Update: I have tried the same items ordered above over 4-5 times and they have maintained amazing consistency! Lados is a simple hole-in-the-wall located in the suburban part of Sunnyvale. Featuring South Asian Fusion, it's a great new place that deserves a visit. From what I know, Lados was once a food truck. This is likely the explanation for the kinks that we saw in their service, though I expect that to improve as time goes on. Their ordering system is elegant as you simply interface with a touch screen to make your order. It would behoove them to install two for when there's a bigger crowd, though. In addition, their system can't quite handle deals--such as the one you may get when you check-in​ via Yelp--so you have to talk to them in those cases anyway​. The flooring​, chairs,​ and tables are simple yet nice. Onto the food, though. I've had quite a few things here! - Bomb Kabob--this was great! The kabob used reminds me of the Halal Patties used for a BBQ I went to many years ago...The ratio of the meat to bread was just right. - Crazy Curry Fries--the custom fries of Lados. Not much to say about these other than that if you want to get fries at Lados, get these as they are unique. - Zinger Paratha Warp--featuring the famous Zinger fried chicken along with cheese and what appears to be similar to mint chutney in appearance (yet tasting more like ranch), I found this to be a highly delectable wrap. The fried chicken exceeded my expectations as it surpassed those that I have tried at other South Asian Fusion establishments. You have to try at least one of the Zinger items when you go here. While the tikka masala sauce was very flavorful but pretty consistent to others I've had, what stood out to me was the heat and char from the chicken within it which only added flavor. Oh my gosh the chicken is so juicy and tender (both in the zinger burger and the basket of wings). The basket of wings were really surprising - you get 5 wings and they are huuuge. Honey garlic flavor was incredible, and I highly recommend! Portions are also really filling, and I personally couldn't finish my burger or my wings (which will make for great leftovers for my next meal) They have outdoor dining available, and indoor dining is open back up now, too.
