    Red velvet cake

The service was great. The person helping was very nice and explained what they had. I only got a slice of red velvet cake and unfortunately it was disappointing. It was hard and dry. The kind you buy at the grocery store tastes better.

The service at Lady M is great but some of their products leave a lot to be desired. I bought an 8pc Bon Bon box and some of the crepe biscuits as a gift for relatives abroad. My trip wound up getting delayed for half a year so we just wound up opening it and eating it... and fortunately we did cause they were NOT good. The crepe biscuits tasted stale even though they were well within the use by date. Half of the bonbons were good (like the matcha crunch, passionfruit, tiramisu), but when we returned months later to buy bonbons, they seem to have discontinued all of the ones that actually tasted good. Tried the Dubai chocolate mille crepe cake as well and it wasn't bad but not great. Since the cakes need to be refrigerated, the pistachio kunafa layer on top was sadly really hard and difficult to get through. The store is bright and clean and conveniently located in the Arcadia mall.

YAAASSSSSSS Finally got to try multiple crepe cakes like I intended! In a previous visit at another location, I regrettably allowed my girls to choose and order and though the strawberry and cream cake they chose was delicios, it wasn't what I knew Lady M for. So since it's my birthday and it's my choice of cakes, I chose the following slices... to make up for not getting any last time. Pistachio Mille Crêpes Amedei Chocolate Mille Crêpes Signature Mille Crepes All of them were delicious! The crepes were soft, the fillings were delicious. The texture when you're cutting through the layers is amazing. Each flavor is great! I think it depends on what you're in the mood for, then that's what you should get. At this time, the CHOCOLATE was the biggest hit. This Lady M branch is located inside the Arcadia Mall. I'm sure it has a real name, but this is what I call it. Anyway, because it's part of the mall, there are plenty of parking spaces that are free and available. There is no eating area.

There's something about the all-white interiors of Lady M that just screams elegance. It's almost as if you're being warned that you're walking into a fancy bakery that uses premium ingredients so be prepared to splurge. Because that's exactly what we did. The spacious ordering area is intentionally sparse because the cakes are supposed to take center stage. All you can see the moment you set foot (not step foot!) into the store is the beautiful baked treats. We ordered the noisette au chocolat and we were not disappointed. It's not overly rich like I expected because instead of all layers being a creamy mousse, there is one layer which has a gelatin-like consistency. I imagine it's to give the palate a break from all the gooey textures. And it works! Not too sweet, and it has all sorts of mouthfeels - crunchy, creamy, chewy and gooey. Loved it!

These crepe layered cakes aren't for me. Maybe for you, though. Service was fine. If you like your cakes with lots of cream filling, you'll probably enjoy this place. As I pushed my fork down the slice of cake for a bite, I could feel all the delicate, thin layers breaking apart. The taste reminds me of a soft cannoli. I know it takes a lot of work making these cakes, which is why they're also so expensive. They sell their original cake for $11 a slice! They're running a limited seasonal pre-order for their red velvet crepe cake which you can only order online. The price? I think I heard them say it's $100+! The place doesn't offer seating directly inside their establishment, but they do have a designated area for Lady M Cake customers to enjoy their beverages and cakes just steps from the entrance.

I have to say my favorite cake here is the Strawberry shortcake. It has fresh strawberries inside and on top and the cake underneath isn't dry. It's not too sweet either. However, it's almost always sold out if you go there too late. We were told if we wanted a slice, we have to be there by 4 PM on a weekend or Friday. Crazy popular. They also have different slices of cake like crepe layered cake, taro, and chocolate cakes. They sell them either by slice or by an entire cake. They are pretty expensive per slice, it's at least 10 dollars a slice but the quality is worth it. They also have an eating area outside but it closes around 8 PM. It's reserved only for Lady M customers. Overall, I like the cakes here. One of the best!

    Passion fruit crepe cake
    Aileen H.

I love their cakes. The strawberry shortcake was moist, light and just the perfect amount of sweetness. I also tried their passion fruit crepe cake recently and I loved the passion fruit flavor. The cake tasted tropical and the flavors were balanced. Some crepe cakes honestly taste like eating paper to me and I didn't like that kind of texture. However, Lady M's crepe cakes have the crepes so thin that the texture didn't bother me. In the past I have always ordered their traditional cakes, now I will start getting their crepe cakes. I did get their moon cake special edition box last year. The box was beautiful but the flavors did't work for me. The flavor combinations didn't come together and that's why I am not giving them 5 stars. The flavors were more modern like lychee and rose flavored moon cakes. They were pretty flavorless. I like this location at the Santa Anita mall because they have their own seating area right outside the store. Service was good. Lady M is always a treat!

    Welcome to Lady M Cake.

Lady M (est 2001) is a luxurious and classy dessert bakery store inside a mall. It is most famous for the creation of Signature Mille Crêpes. It blends French pastry techniques with Japanese sensibilities, resulting in fine thin cakes that are a touch sweet and perfect for every occasion. However, the quality is either a hit or miss which don't equate the high end tag price. Staff was cordial. Atmosphere was relaxing. Parking was not an issue given its in a large shopping mall. At the end of the day there are better dessert shops that trump Lady M's cakes. Overall, it's a modest luxury cakes. If you're into presentation then this brand is for you.

Amazing as always. The taste. And service was good and fast as well. No tables for us to sit though, they closed out the section so we had to sit near the other small food booths. Minus one star for pricing. It's getting more expensive now. $12 for that slice of cake?!?! I guess business still have to run. Would only eat if craving.

It's been forever since I've had Lady M, so when I spotted it while walking around Santa Anita Mall with my mom, I had to stop! Total impulse decision -- and no regrets. I went for the pistachio mille crêpe, and wow... it was heavenly -- light, creamy, and layered perfectly. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but still super delicious. We sat in the little section just for Lady M, and they even serve water, which was a nice touch. The ambiance is adorable -- very chic and boutique-y. Such a cute spot to treat yourself (and your mom). Totally hit the spot.

    Strawberry Matcha Latte

This is a cute as their place. Their matcha I did not like especially the strawberry cold foam. I ordered the crème brûlée crepe cake it was cool I always wanted to try it but it was mid. TBH wouldn't go back again maybe only for a different flavor of the crepe cake since I have yet to find another place that sells. It was a bit more than I expected to pay I paid 20$ for two items

So the look of this place gives this trendy classic vibe, but it's just ridiculously overpriced. First off, there is no menu! You don't really know how much things are or what the options is. However there is a drink menu when you ASK for it. Their drinks are typically but really pricey for what it is. Their cakes and drinks are amazing tho. They are delicious. They have an "outdoor" sitting area. Apparently it's closed sooo can't use it so what's the point. Also, the girl helping us seem really didn't want to be there. She wasn't really helpful. It made us uncomfortable and wanted to leave.

Super excited because the mini fruit tarts are going to look amazing on my newly purchased dessert tray! I was feeling a bit sleepy so I decided to fuel up & eat breakfast while I was there. If you're a big eater and want the additional potatoes and pancakes, I recommend paying a few dollars more and ordering the Breakfast platter. The Vanilla Latte came in a paper cup (a bit bummed out by not being able to take a more IG worthy picture of that), but it actually tasted really good! Same with the sausage links - it was probably one of the best tasting ones I've had for breakfast in a while. The Black Forest bread was topped with toasted almonds, had jiggly thick sweet custard, and a layer of semi sweet chocolate. The pork floss bread had a swirl of sweet savory pork floss and was topped with nutty crunchy sesame seeds. The garlic bread was really good, soft, and had a streak of yummy, savory, garlicy, cheesy goodness. They even had a cilantro pork floss cake?! I want to first clarify that the baked goods themselves, especially the egg tarts, are consistently excellent. This review is not about the quality of the food, but specifically about the customer service experience during this visit. I am a regular customer at Sunmerry Bakery in Temple City and have supported this location consistently over time. The majority of my purchases are specifically for the egg tarts, which I frequently purchase not only for myself, but also for teams and individuals within the Veteran and military family community that I work alongside and support. While I am not a Veteran myself, a significant part of my professional and volunteer work involves supporting Veterans, military families, and community organizations throughout the area. As someone who lives in the local community, I make a conscious effort to support neighborhood businesses whenever possible. Sunmerry Bakery has been one of those businesses that I have chosen to support repeatedly because of the quality of its products and my desire to see local businesses succeed. I have frequently recommended Sunmerry Bakery to Veterans, military families, coworkers, and community members seeking quality egg tarts in the area. Having shared their products at meetings, community gatherings, and events throughout the region, the feedback has consistently been positive, which is why I have continued supporting and recommending this business. Because of how often I visit, support, and recommend this bakery to others, this interaction stood out even more and left me genuinely surprised and disappointed. At the time of my visit, there was only one customer ahead of me. I selected 2 ube conchas and 1 chocolate concha before approaching the counter. While assisting me, Morgan was engaged in a friendly conversation with another customer regarding county wages. She greeted me and asked if there was anything else I needed while ringing up my order. I then requested an additional 4 Portuguese egg tarts and 4 Napoleon egg tarts. I also mentioned that I was picking up a future order under the name Peter. I politely asked whether the future order had been separated into two boxes, since the pastries were intended for two separate teams that support and serve the Veteran community. I further explained that the order consisted of two separate sets of mixed egg tarts so they could easily be distributed to two different teams. Morgan responded by stating, "No, but I can give you extra boxes so you can separate them yourself." At the time, there were no other customers waiting in the store. It was only myself, Morgan, another employee, and someone in the back. I tried to explain the reason for the request, hoping there might be some understanding or accommodation given the simple nature of the situation. However, the response remained the same and came across as dismissive rather than helpful. The interaction left me confused and disappointed. Customer service does not always require grand gestures; sometimes it is simply about professionalism, tone, and making customers feel respected. Unfortunately, this interaction left a negative impression despite how much I normally enjoy supporting this bakery. Afterward, I returned to politely ask for her name. Her demeanor immediately became defensive, and she responded by asking why I needed it and stated that she did not have to provide it. According to the receipt, the clerk was identified as Morgan K. What stood out most was not necessarily the refusal itself, but the overall tone of the interaction and the apparent frustration throughout what I believed was a straightforward customer request. This is also the second uncomfortable experience I have had involving similar behavior, which is why I felt it was important to provide honest feedback. I am not writing this review to seek compensation or special treatment. I am providing this feedback because I genuinely enjoy Sunmerry Bakery's products and would like to continue supporting the business. My hope is simply that management is aware of this experience and can address it appropriately. Again, the bakery products themselves are excellent, and this review should not reflect negatively on the quality of the food. I continue to believe Sunmerry Bakery has great products and the potential to provide excellent customer experiences. I simply hope management reviews the importance of professionalism, courtesy, and respectful communication so future customers, especially returning customers who actively support the business and the local community, do not leave feeling unwelcome or uncomfortable.

Luckily the lady I spoke to suggested I call the JJ Bakery & Cafe in Temple City. Oh, I didn't know they are also in Temple City. Thank you Miss! I called here and spoke to a nice lady who took my cake order. Lucky again, they had the 8 inch Vanilla Chiffon Cake layered with taro, red bean, and custard pudding in stock. It was only $39.80 no tax. Cool! This location is in the Elm Center Shopping Center. Plenty of free parking. Got here early morning. Line was short. Staff was friendly and helpful. Got my cake. Paid for it and left. I didn't have much time to peruse the bakery to check out their baked goods nor did I get a chance to sit in the cafe area. Pretty cool that they have bakery + cafe combo. Most other JJ Bakery don't have this setup. I will have to return here to give them a bit more attention and take more photos. As for the cake, it was very pretty with lots of fresh fruits on top. There was a good amount of taro with a thin layer of custard pudding. Great taro flavor and taste. Custard pudding had the perfect sweetness. I didn't get much red bean though. I forgot to take photos of the inside of cake. I'll have to order it again and examine it more closely. Nevertheless, great cake choice especially for the taro lovers! I will soon be back to get the full experience of JJ Bakery & Cafe. Thanks!
