-Delicious Cake, Horrendous Staff- If you filter the reviews by least stars, you will see that all of the complaints are about the rude staff, which I can contest to. I shopped twice at this store, both times I encountered a male Asian staff at the register. Both times I had horrible experience due to his attitude. The first time, he was very unapproachable when I was picking up my pre-ordered cake, and he talked to us like peasants when my mom were surprised that there is a fee for the box and inquired him about it, we just dealt with it and left. 4 months later and I came here again with my family, I saw the same Asian dude at the register, I'm surprised that after all this time with his rudeness he still hasn't been fired yet... I bought 1 whole cake and a single slice to-go. However, after the purchase, my family decided that they wanted to dine-in to eat the single slice while it was still fresh. All tables in the store are empty so we just sat down at one of them, thinking it's like any other dessert place where we can just eat at the tables on our own and clean up after ourselves before we leave (we didn't know that we actually needed to wait to be seated). We opened the box for the 1-slice, and my dad got up to request for some disposable plates. The Asian dude said the plates are only for dine-in service. We thought maybe the dine-in service will require us to order through dine-in, which we didn't because we did to-go, so we just decided to eat the cake out of the box, no big deal. After we cutted the cake up and are ready to eat, the Asian dude came and told us that they don't allow customers to eat cake straight out of the box here, I'm like what?? It's my cake, I bought it, so it should be my freedom how I eat it? But then he elaborated and said because we didn't do dine-in, we can't sit here... after he said that, everyone was awkwardly silent for 5 seconds processing what the heck just happened, then my dad calmly told him that we are sorry that we didn't know the rules for dine-in here, but can we still finish as the cake is already cut up? The staff then just awkward said "well will you know this for the future I guess?".... Thanks for lecturing us, Asian dude.... was that really necessary? It's not like the place is super packed or anything, no one is waiting in line to be seated, if we didn't know the rule and thus didn't go through the formality of waiting at the empty line there to be seated, why can't he assume that we are doing dine-in and provide the plates instead of making it an awkward and unpleasant experience? Because the prices of dine-in and take-out is the exact same, so really what difference would it make? Maybe he wanted the tips associated with the dine-in service? Well at this rate he definitely ain't getting no tips... Anyways, just to finish up the story, we awkwardly finished the cake, cleaned up after ourselves so that no more snarky comments can possibly be made again from this guy, and awkwardly left... The guy didn't even say bye have a good day, nothing, just left it as an awkward situation and unpleasant experience for me and my family. Lady M has such good cakes and is very pricey, if we are already paying this much for the cake, isn't it only fair that we get a matching high quality experience when buying the cake? The pastries are not bad; however, the service is horrible. We bought a couple items to go and then changed our minds to eat in the empty store. When we asked for some napkins and a fork the people there refused to give us either with a completely idiotic explanation that one can either buy take away or eat in. Spoke with one of the employees and looks like Lady M will be a permanent location at Urban Space! They are famous for their crepe cakes and well known in NYC. This is their first location in DC and I'm not surprised they have decided to stay. It's so popular that last Saturday they sold out by 7pm AND when I went back this past Mon, someone walked out with 4 crepe cakes (not slices). lol. At $9 a slice, it's not cheap, but every once in a while, it's a fantastic dessert. They have many different flavors. Mine are the green tea, red bean and original. I imagine most of them are good, but at $9, I haven't tried them all yet! I'm so happy it's a permanent location and fits in well with Donburi and Sen Khao next door. I was so excited to try Lady M and it did not disappoint! I don't think I can eat any other dessert except for the cakes from Lady M because they are so delicate, rich, and not too sweet! When we arrived at the store Sydney was there to greet us and offer fabulous suggestions. We went home with a slice of the signature mille crepes (MUST TRY), a slice of the gateau fromage - which is Lady M's version of a cheesecake, and a slice of the checkers. I'm so happy that this pop-up got extended and was able to make it out to Tysons in March! I got the chocolate and pistachio crepe cakes. HEAVEN. It tastes like you're eating a cloud. There is a layer of cream in between in each crepe - light, fluffy, and not too sweet. I preferred the pistachio one, but the chocolate was very good as well. I went to store today bought 2 crepe cakes. The cakes there are very delicious and the service is quite good as well.

I was super stoked when I heard Lady M was setting up in Tysons 2. I went ahead and went for the original crepe cake, and oh man... this cake lived up to the hype and the price. 9$ is super steep for a single slice of cake, but you always get what you pay for here. Lady M's cakes were super soft, and you can see the different layers within each cake. I was also a huge fan of this cake because the flavor was not extremely sweet, it met the goldilocks standard of sweetness, flavor, and creaminess. I came in super overwhelmed because Lady M has so many different cakes to choose from. Luckily I was greeted by Gjiang and Sydney, who helped me and guided me to the right cake. I was pleasantly surprised by their friendliness and helpfulness. I was debating on the chocolate, original, green tea, and the checkered flavored cake so they gave me great descriptions of each cake, and what to expect from each cake. We worked together to conclude that I would like the original flavor the best. Good thing I work in the Tysons Corner area. Lady M's cake and customer service will be a great pick-me-up if I am having a long day. Looking forward to coming back for more! read more

This boutique is quite spacious. It's a full service and dine-in location open daily from 11am to 6pm. I often stop by this boutique for my favorite Mille crepes cakes. This happened on September 1, 2019. I am writing this review about this short Asian girl who worked at this location. I was very excited to try the cake because I've only heard good things about this place and now I am so appalled at how I was treated by one of the employees. Upon arrival, this employee continued to be on her phone. She did not even look up at us or make any eye contact. We awkwardly waited for her to greet us to realized she just didn't care about us and she continued with her own business. As we were trying to order and I tried to explain "hi can I get these two cakes..." she interrupted me and said "which one". So again, as I tried to explain to her which one it was she kept asking "which one which one". So I said "if you were actually looking you would know which one i am talking about." Then this is the best line of the day- which she said "if you knew how to pronounce them you wouldn't have to point because it's rude to point." Lol. When was it rude to point at menus because you were unfamiliar with names? I was shocked but continued to purchase since I wanted to try the cakes. Bad idea. Plus she also gave us the wrong cakes which I had to ask again for the ones I actually asked for. 0 for customer service. Your cake is not worth being treated like shit by a girl who makes minimum wage. Apparently her name is Julie. Who knows if that's even true since none of your employees wear name tags. read more

Delicious new addition in the heart of Tysons 2! I have tried both their signature cake and the chocolate one. Both are unlike anything you have ever tried! Delicious, light, and airy and I liked the crepe texture. If you end up with extras you can freeze them and eat them later they will still taste fresh. It is a little pricey for $9 a slide and almost $90 cakes but it's worth it to try it! I wish they had a better selection of teas/cafe items but overall a great addition to Tysons 2. read more

I try to avoid reviewing pastry shops as the most I can say is that they are good or I generally did not enjoy my experience--super vague due to the fact I generally do not care for sweets. Lady M is an exception. If this is your first time, I recommend starting out with the Signature. Most of the slices will run you ~$9, a fair price for what you are getting. Their mille crepes are definitely worth trying. The cake isn't very sweet, but it is creamy, and essentially melts in your mouth. You'll marvel at how they manage to stack consistently thin crepes while maintaining an even layer of light cream between each slice. While you'll be savoring every bite, you will suddenly come to the rude awakening that you have finished your slice too quickly and must readjust your monthly budget to get another chance to indulge yourself in this delicious splurge. read more
