It was my first time at the Pop-Up District food hall a few days ago, and The Beat caught my attention with it's large menu and simplicity. They only sell several pastry items where half of them were tarts. Since I was here an hour within closing, they do BOGO deals on their pastries, which is a win for me. I got the PORTUGUESE EGG TART (3.75) and got the HONG KONG EGG TART for the BOGO deal. Between the two, the Portuguese egg tart wins. The custard was creamier and more buttery, and the torched sugar top also made a difference. The HK egg tart was pretty mediocre. Even though the tart itself was a bit soggy (since I did get it at night time), I felt like the pastry itself could have been more flaky. Overall, solid Portuguese egg tart, but 3.75 for just a single one is pricy penny to pay.

Learned about the diff between portugese egg tarts and hong kong egg tarts. Also learned that I like em both! Gotta come by and try!

The workers are super nice! Is it like omg drop dead mouth watering bakery goods - i wouldn't describe them as that. They are good but some are extra dry while others are messy and fall apart after a bite. The taste isn't bad tho they are good!

Cute pastry shop within Pop-up district. I really enjoy their egg tarts and array of chocolate, strawberry and match smashed croissants. A must if you're in the area and want a treat.

These eggs tarts were pretty good. I liked the Portuguese one more than the Hong Kong one but they were both creamy. Surprised to see a random bakery in the new food hall that opened but all in all wouldn't mind going again if they updated the menu.

Hong Kong themed bakery inside Pop-Up food hall at Eden Center, selling traditional Portuguese egg tarts, and their Hong Kong egg tarts cousin. I tried both, very good, with a personal preference for the Portuguese version. They also have other tarts and chocolate croissants.

I haven't been to Eden center in a while so I was surprised to see a food hall. I had pastries at the Beat, and while the Portuguese egg tart was good, I would highly not recommend the black sesame tart. Tasted like dirt. The pastry though was at least very flaky. I wish the tarts were served a bit warm. The egg tart was still good; somewhat of a creamy inside with more emphasis on the egg and a nice flaky crust to pair along with it. Decent texture; I'm used to more creamy custard but the slightly eggy center like slightly-creamy scrambled eggs was a nice surprise.

It was my first time trying this place. This was so good!!!!! Will definitely go back and get some more. It's not too sweet which is a big plus. Very crispy on the outside. Love the texture, taste, and its look :D

We inhaled the other 3. Was a 6 pack

Reminds me a bit of Na Tart in Flushing NYC. In a way I like this one better. Heftier, bigger and flakier crust. We'll be back!

Both were good, but the Portuguese were slightly better I guess cos it's warmer, and fresh from the oven. They also have lava tart, coconut tart, croissant and, chocolate croissant. Staff there were friendly as well.

First I was greeted by a customer while I was reading the outside sign on a pumpkin spicy latte, a customer that was leaving stopped and turned and explained it was everything and do good and if I have not, I must as they put actual pumpkin puree inside not just that pump pump stuff. So I was sold walking in. Next up was home made cookies making ice cream sandwich's by the front door. before I could even get through the line to the front, I was greeted with more baked goods, cupcakes, scones, macroons, dog biscuits - normal biscuits! So I went to town ordering a variety being asked by my lil and my inner child. While sipping on my now, pumpkin spiced latte from here, I saw actual meals being served and I missed out on ordering sandwiches from the back :( Something I will be coming back for! I did get up and order more things, like a fall inspired cookie ice cream sandwhich, all alone by itself in a sea of other flavors, I had to rescue it. And the sour macrons! When did that become a thing??? They were so good and perfect for our movie night later that day. I'm very happy to have stumbled across this find.

They have a breakfast/brunch menu, a daytime/lunch menu, and an evening menu and you can watch them preparing items in the kitchen. You can either eat inside or outside on the patio, and they have heaters for the cooler days. We came here to get some baked goods mid-afternoon and they still had a good selection. The bear claw was large and tasty with an enjoyable cinnamon flavor and the lemon meringue croissant was unique and enjoyable as I'd never had a croissant with lemon meringue filing. They weren't cheap but they were tasty and enjoyable. I did want to mention they have parking but it's hit or miss on getting a spot since it can get crowded so walking might be easiest if you live nearby. I'll come back here again for a meal and to try some other items on their menu.

I really wanted to love this place…read more My family and I chose to come here for Easter because it's dog-friendly -- which felt like the perfect combination for us. They even have a dog menu, and the patio setup is honestly beautiful. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and aesthetically on point. The staff greets you right away, and first impressions were genuinely great. We chose to sit outside on the balcony so my puppy could join us, and that space alone is worth noting -- fire pits going, cozy atmosphere, just really well done. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. We ordered food for all of us, including my daughter and my puppy. My food and my puppy's food came out fairly quickly, but my daughter's meal never arrived. After waiting quite a while, I had to flag down the waiter, only to be told -- after the fact -- that they didn't even have what she ordered. At no point before that did anyone communicate this. So now she has to reorder, and we're waiting all over again while the rest of us are already eating. When her food finally arrives, there's no silverware. Just... dropped off with no thought to the fact that she actually needed utensils to eat. We also ordered lemonade, which was great -- but when the waiter offered to bring more after the issues, it never came. To try and make up for things, they brought out a dessert that looked beautiful, but when we asked what was in it (due to food sensitivities), the waiter had no idea. He eventually came back with an allergy sheet, which felt like an afterthought rather than informed service. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager. Instead, the waiter told me, "I just got out of trouble -- what can I do to make this right?" That response alone was incredibly off-putting and unprofessional. We ultimately just had my daughter's meal removed from the bill and decided to move on. Even my puppy's waffles -- which was one of the things we were most excited about -- came out slightly burnt. Overall, the lack of communication, poor follow-through, and disorganized service completely overshadowed what could have been a great experience. It's disappointing because the space and concept have so much potential. Unfortunately, I can't overlook the service issues.

I also loved the other ice cream flavor pairings you can choose. The monthly flavor was pistachio, love that! One note is that the hojicha latte at full sweetness was way too sweet for me, so I would recommend getting 50% sweetness instead. My friend ordered the hojicha float with pistachio soft serve and rice mochi, which was delicious and surprisingly filling enough to share. There is only one self-serve kiosk, but service was still fast despite how busy it was. Indoor seating is limited and fills quickly, but I loved the modern green and wood interior and all the natural sunlight.

The mango syrup added a nice fruity sweetness. The rice mochi was quite plain, chewy, and a bit too large. It didn't really hold onto the ice cream well. The only thing that was weird to me was texture of the ice cream, it was slightly grainy for some reason which is peculiar. I also felt it was a bit expensive for what it was. I've only tried their ice cream and haven't had a chance to try any of their drinks yet.
