They have cute pastries and it's not bad! Convenient location as well. Pastries run out towards the end of day so come early

Stopped at Brug Ala Moana branch to pick up a few treats before heading home. That store is always busy, but the staff does a great job of keeping the lines moving and freshly stocked displays of pastries and baked goods. Our favorites are the Pastrami Focaccia and the Custard Pan. I especially love it when the cheese on the Focaccia melts and creates a small "Cheese " skirt on the edges . The custard in the Custard Pan is so creamy and delicious . Definitely worth it. Highly recommended

Small bakery found in the Ala Moana food court. They have another separate store front at the Ala Moana as well. They have lunch bag merch with cute little bread art. They close at 6pm, so when I came around 5pm, everything was pretty much sold out. Luckily, that led me find this coffee pudding from the refrigerator section. coffee pudding: 9.7/10. SO GOOD. strong coffee flavor, smooth, rich, and creamy. reminds me exactly of the puddings I've had in Japan. So good, I wish I had the chance to get more.

Savory pastry that we love for a quick bite. Fresh vegetables!!

Always wonderful service and delicious food! I try to purchase savory and sweet pastries. When shared with my family, everything disappears.

There are multiple locations of Brug in Haiwaii. The Ala Moana center has two: one near all the food, one next to the cat cafe. Their bread is extremely delicious. Reminds me of Japanese and Asian bread - less sweet, softer and puffier. Watch out, they do sell out easily. By the time it is afternoon, choices can be limited. They also have a sale section for one day old bread cute. Still tastes amazing. And it also means everything else is quite fresh. We tried : potato mochi chewy - and tasty Delicious creamy soft French milk bread. Lilikoi Hawaiian Monk seals - cute and delicious Mango Custard Hermit Crab These whimsical marine animal shaped pastry with tropical fillings are my favorites. There are monthly special bread (see photos) example May & June Specials Earl Grey & Lemon Butterfly Danish, Mango Custard Hermit Crab, Mango Danish. Brug offers such creamy, fresh, delightful, fun and creative bread and buns. I am so impressed. It is delicious. It does sell out so go early in the day for maximum choices. If you like a deal they do sell slightly one day old bread with a discount. That's cute too. I wish they are in California!! Staff is friendly!

We have been going to Brug Ala Moana since they opened many years ago. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Being located in the Lanai Food Court, it is noisy but makes it convenient for our ohana to choose what they want to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I just want a quick bite, I love their Tuna Bomb. It satisfies my appetite for a quick breakfast or lunch on-the-go. My hubby and daughter loves the Bacon Epi to snack on because they can break it off in small pieces and ... who doesn't like bacon?! What I really enjoy is seeing their seasonal special pastries. During this visit, they were already featuring cute Halloween creations! It is self-serve so can take time to choose what you want then take your tray to the cashier where they package your selections. The food court is at the Ala Moana Shopping Center so there's lots of free parking.

Always cute, always delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small shop that can be a little hard to navigate inside, but well worth it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love the lilikoi seal and garlic cheese bread.

I love Brug! This location is on the street level, Mauka side, same area as Marshall's. I think [[HIGHLIGHT]]this location is really small, and has its fair share of crazies popping in and out (due to location), but I will always stop by to pick something up here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love their pastries and always grab extra for breakfast the next day. If I had to choose I like the Brug location upstairs at the Lanai Foodcourt by Macys!

I recently participated in the Brug Bakery anniversary special. All pastry, rolls and single croissant were $2. It was well organized and gave me the perfect opportunity to try things I wouldn't normally buy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was really difficult for them to move the line quickly because it's an incredibly small space and such a huge turnout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a hour wait and when I finally got in none of my favorites were available. However they did have about 10 choices available, they were rotating inventory so not everyone had the same options throughout the day. It was nice to try and takes place every July. See you next year!

We visited this bakery while stopping by to get some musibis. We couldn't help but take a look at all they had to offer because they had a bread that looked like a pig, so that caught our eye. We got a couple of items listed as favorites, and they didn't last! We were planning to eat them once we got back home, but we ended up eating them during our car ride home. Must try: sausage roll (?) I forgot the name!

Some of the pastries are so cute. Staff are very friendly and great service. I got some for a friend and came back after lunch to get some for hubby.

Brug Bakery is a small Japanese bakery, with a few locations in Hokkaido, and I thought it was cool that they had some locations in HI! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This particular store is at the Ala Moana Center - I can see why this place is pretty popular and why their selections run out quickly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their offerings include sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches, and loaves. As other Asian bakeries, you pick up a basket and start choosing; we picked up: +the Croquette Pan - bread with a vegetable croquette, tonkatsu sauce, and parsley +a Beef Curry Pan - filled with a homemade Japanese curry +a Bear pan +a shrimp alfredo pan - this was my favorite, as it was topped with tons of shrimp, and the cheesy/creamy sauce topping was yummy Staff are efficient and keeps the line moving; note that this place is super small. Plenty of parking at the Ala Moana Center. +tasty savory pastries +located at the Ala Moana Center

Haven't been to Brug Ala Moana ( on the ground floor) in awhile. I purchased bread, a chocolate croissant and an anpan. The bread...many bake styles available, always good, soft and tasty and always fresh. I also love the chocolate croissant and the anpan. Quality is always on point. But, today, I tried the baby seal bun with lilikoi cream filling. So good, the cream is not too sweet and goes well with the soft bun. The service was fast, thankfully, since the shop is small and so crowded. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A bit hard to move around. You need to walk slowly and gaze at the wonderful pastries[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Soooo worth it, tho.

Yakisoba pan sandwich like in the movie Midnight Diner? I need this

Aloha! We currently don’t have Yakisoba Pan. We used to have it back in the Shirokiya days. It’s a bread that we might bring as a special but not as a regular item. If you would like to special order them I can try to ask the head chef if she can…

I am looking for a place that is able to cater a specific dish. Are you folks able to do "pigs in a blanket" if you are, are you able to accommodate about 50 pcs? & how much would it be? looking for a place that is able to do this for daughters bday.

I love pigs in a blanket, however that’s not a product we have in any of our shops. We have 3 kinds of hot dog style two arabiki sausage (regular and spicy) (japanese crunchy sausage with Japanese dough) and Salz frank with European dough. We can…

The bigger the malasadas size the more airy and fluffy and more bread layers that will be inside. 2. their malasadas always taste fresh and the same quality each time. 3. their malasadas don't feel oily or heavy at all Overall I would highly recommend this place for their Malasadas! I'm so happy to have found them. I can back multiple times on my trip. They also have other desserts too that I have yet to try. They have ice cream, cakes, and other desserts Also tip: if you are ordering a malasada also order a coffee or a matcha drink to go with it. The cinnamon sugar from the malasada just matches so perfectly with a drink this restaurant is also a nice place for walking! There's lot of stores and restaurants to walk around! I'm trying to remember but I think there was a book off that was not too far from here! If you either drive or maybe walk. Service: staff was super helpful and friendly while I was there. However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? And it was a Tuesday night! Great that there was a menu on the door so we could see what the excitement was all about. Appeared to be fancy matcha drinks and desserts with a gelato bar. Decided since we had free parking and the line didn't seem too long, grabbing a gelato to take home shouldn't take long. There was only 1 person working to serve the entire restaurant! She had to make every fancy dessert! Omg. But as I watched her, I realized that she was so sweet to everyone and worked very efficiently. We actually did not wait long at all, as there were only 3 orders ahead of us. When it was our turn, she let us sample the gelato flavors. We ended up buying twice as many scoops because they were all so delicious! Not cheap but tasty! We got the azuki (creamy because it's mixed with marscopone), black sesame, miso (taste kinda like caramel), and seasonal watermelon (only for August). The matcha chocolate was very unique. Wasn't a huge fan of the whipped cream but the mango was pretty sweet. The mochi had a nice chewy and soft texture to it. Sadly, wasn't a fan of the regular red bean or ube mochi but did enjoy the texture. Went back a few days later at 10 and saw a full fridge of the mango mochi w/ lima bean. This is likely the only thing I'd go back for which was pretty good. A full 1/2 of a mango sits inside a bit of white bean paste wrapped in a soft and chewy mochi. Only thing that would've made this even better is if the mango we had would've been sweeter. Decent mango taste but understand there's no way to guarantee whether a mango is sweet or not. Still prefer the unique mochi flavors at Nishodo but quite enjoyed the texture or the mochi her at Kansai. Did notice the mochi here still has a good texture even the next day.
