    Jambalaya! So good.
    Susie H.

Came here for a festive night out near Christmas. 11/10 did not disappoint. The festive holiday cocktails were great - my server suggested either Dirty Santa or The Grinch. Both were delicious. The tuna nachos had a spicy kick to them but were good. The jambalaya was a large portion and was also good. We asked them to make our espresso martinis festive - and they added a candy cane and a festive stirrer. They had a nice wine list too. Only downside was trying to find parking - but our server was great! Her name started with an M (I think). I will come back here for sure.

Grilled Oysters & Thai Fried Shrimp

Lagarde was a highly anticipated restaurant for my friend and I and what better time to come during Mardi Gras when they have their themed menu? We were seated in the enclosed, outside area which was kind of a buzzkill because the inside seemed lively and those vibes were nonexistent in the quiet outside area. My friend was encouraging me to order the charred oysters as I've never had them before and we ordered a lot and they were pretty good! I ordered raw oysters to compare and enjoyed them twice as much. The drinks were solid as well. If you come here you want to stick to just that-- oysters and drinks. We ordered a few appetizers and they were all underwhelming in their own way. The whipped ricotta was unlike any other I've had before and the word that comes to mind is amateur? It just wasn't good. The Thai fried shrimp was just fried shrimp, nothing really Thai about it. The Nola BBQ shrimp was solid and the brisket tots were okay but was far from impressive. Stick to the oysters and drinks like I said.

Absolutely love this spot! The food was sooo delicious & fresh! I absolutely love the roasted oysters. They were amazing! I visited this spot during halloween season which was so fun. They are all decked out and have fun halloween cocktails! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone in this area. They have a wide menu with lots of options. Parking wise: we did have some trouble. They lot was full and the line for valet was SO long. So definitely build in some time for parking!!

    Hair in butter

Our visit started off well. Our server Morgan was pleasant, and the brunch menu seemed to offer something for everyone. A good start went downhill quickly when one of our plates came out with hair in the butter. Our server apologized and took it back to the kitchen for it to be remade, which was fine. The bigger problem was that we weren't offered any type of compensation (a percentage off the entree that had hair, comped beverages, something). I'm not expecting a free meal or anything outrageous, but something for the inconvenience of having to wait while the kitchen remade the order would've gone a long way. I'm not sure if this falls on management for not empowering their employees to make these types of decisions, or if it was up to Morgan, and she didn't care to offer. Either way, the food wasn't good enough to overlook the customer service failure.

    Salmon BLT

This place was really nice and casual! They had outdoor dining and the doors open. Our sever was very nice and professional. Our food was brought out piping hot and delicious. I ordered the Salmon BLT with the Cajun tots and the Summer in Chamblee cocktail. Oh and the deviled eggs and Thai Fried as appetizers. The cocktail was incredibly refreshing and perfect for a warm afternoon! I didn't get andouille on the deviled eggs which I later regretted because I felt like they needed a little crunch. The Salmon BLT was tasty. Although I wish they didn't put such a thin piece of Salmon on it. The Cajun tater tots were cooked to perfection and absolutely amazing! I would go back just for those alone. All in all, a really good culinary experience!

Came here for my cousins birthday with a party of 8. My husband and I split the chicken wings and I got the chicken biscuit for my entree. Both were very tasty but something seems to have changed with the wings once last time we got them. Can't really tasty that it was grilled. The server was kind but messed up the surprise cake we got for my cousin. She brought out share plates before the cake so that gave it away. We also paid for a cake cutting fee and they tried to cut the cake at the table which would have been a mess. Had to ask them to take it back to kitchen to cut.

Lagarde has really amped up their brunch menu. Before it was more like a lunch menu, but when we were there last week, it was pretty legit. The food was all really nicely, presented and prepared, and there was not a bad bite to be had. The only Negative thing I could say was that the drinks were slightly lackluster, but I think it was because the ice melted on the patio.

Came with a group of 7 people after work. We all enjoyed our drinks but the mystic tai really topped the list! We also split a bunch of appetizers like the fried okra, calamari, and grilled oysters. We sat on the patio to enjoy the good weather and service was lovely too. Parking: private shared lot with lots of spots.

How have I never heard of this place before??? Had some family in the area who wanted to do brunch and this was close to all of us. We did have a reservation for brunch which I thought was because they were quite busy for a Saturday!! Only disappointment of the trip was we tried getting the cinnamon roll but they didn't have it that day which was sad. But the rest of the meal was great. I went with the breakfast BLT and that was a huge sandwich. Delicious food and such a cute vibe. Would definitely be fun to sit outside.

A friend of mine sent us an Instagram reel and mentioned she wanted to celebrate her birthday here. I thought, "Why not? The place looks cute." I wasn't overly excited, assuming it was more about the atmosphere and decorations. Boy, was I wrong! The food was amazing I kid you not! They do a fantastic job with the decor, changing it monthly to match the holiday. What We Ordered: * Brussels Sprouts: Super good and crispy! * Calamari: A bit salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. * Oysters: We ordered two of each variety they had (sorry, I can't recall the names). They were small but fresh! I'm not usually a fan of Gulf Coast oysters, but these were perfect. Bayou Pasta: Let me brag about this dish! Our server, who was very nice, recommended it as one of their most popular items. I can see why, it was bussin'! So good that I came back the next day to get some to go! Hanger Steak: Surprisingly, this was a hit too! Cooked perfectly, tender, and amazing!

Great after work evening location for a Friday! The parking seems a little full but there's lots of locations sharing one lot. However, people are coming and going pretty fast. As you walk up you'll see a patio out back. I saw kids and a dog and thought about my pups! Walk inside and there's plenty of seating. I sat at the bar and was greeted shortly after. I enjoyed a voodoo-Rita. It was amazing with a small punch! If you enjoy oysters or thinking of trying them... the grilled oysters were superb. Finished my evening off with the pasta but didn't get through half. The staff were very nice and friendly.

Hidden gem in Chamblee, how did I pass by this place so many times and not eat? The food is SO good. The service was amazing, our server stayed ready for our bottomless mimosa refills. My shrimp and grits and salad were so good. I literally ate for 2 hours to get through it all. It's a big restaurant with indoor and outdoor spaces. The inside is the restaurant is modern but also has big screens for a sports bar vibe. Definitely will be a regular here!

I have only came here for dinner so coming here for brunch was definitely a different experience. I do feel like my food was okay. I started with oysters first and I felt like they did not taste as fresh as I usually would have them. They were still good though. when it came to the chicken and French toast, the French toast was amazing. I love French toast honestly and the chicken on top was good too, but the pickled peppers did not taste good on top of all of it. I tried to take them all off, but the flavor was just soaked in the chicken, so it gave it a sour taste. I did not like the peppers at all. I love the french fries though . My friend sent her barbecue shrimp back because it did not look like barbecue shrimp and it was pretty watery. We were a little confused by that dish. Other than that, the experience was great, our server was very attentive, and it was just a beautiful day to be outside . Love the outdoor side.

And if it wasn't in a hotel that I frequent I would avoid this place like the plague. Think of the money they are losing due to extremely lazy staff. Only redeeming quality is the look of the place. The buffet offers just an average variety (no cold cuts, nor cheese, nor berries of any kind among the fruits), but the fare is usually fresh and more than sufficient to satisfy your morning hankering. The scrambled eggs actually doesn't seem reconstituted. The pastries offered are especially nice, and, yes, they have oatmeal, not just grits. What I like most about Southern Grove are the staff, which alone took them up a star. The two ladies that were there this time are so pleasant and polite, working closely together to serve the needs of the guests - it's a pleasure to be served by them. I know one shouldn't "judge" the wait staff by their attitude (have walked more than a mile in their shoes, but not in recent years), but when you're not served by someone who doesn't look like he/she wants to be there, it's something you notice and want to recognize. Good job, Ladies!

At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!
