I live 2 mins from Lagarde and this was my first time visiting - I am ashamed! I really loved everything about this spot. Our waitress, Isabella, was so sweet and attentive. My boyfriend and I dined in last Saturday night - it was moderately busy (there's inside and patio dining - covered patio dining in the colder months). I made reservations on Resy prior so we were seated immediately, although I think we would've been seated quickly without the reservations at least that particular night. We didn't order any apps, but we did start with cocktails. I ordered a "Smoke & Mirrors" and later a "Black is the Berry." Drinks were well balanced and just enough to give a buzz. We both ordered shrimp and grits, which was delish. It was more of shrimp and grits with a twist, not as traditional, but the gravy was thick, sausage was fatty, seasoned well and the entire dish came together nicely. We could actually smell our food before it arrived to us; also great portion size. We were stuffed, yet we could not pass up the fried donuts, (alternatively their twist on beignets) for dessert. We ate them too quickly for pics - next time, I'd order them with just the powdered sugar, no whip or additional honey. The donuts themselves were small balls - light, fluffy and just the right amount of sweet. I really appreciated how chill this spot felt - I was 100% relaxed here. So I come here all the time and it's always a great experience. Funny enough, I've had the same waitress the last three times that I visited. I unfortunately cannot remember her name, but she's always great. The food is always solid! I will say that it has been changing in terms of the offerings on the menu. They recently got rid of the hush puppies, and considering the theme of the food of food that they sell that's unacceptable. Please bring them back. Moving on though! I love their cocktails, they're not too fancy and they are well mixed in terms of liquor to mixer ratio. Never had a bad one! Good food, good service, and chill atmosphere. A great Saturday brunch alternative. While not your traditional brunch restaurant, the smothered chicken, open faced brunch special was outstanding. We both had the frozen mojito which was delicious initially; however, I higher suggest they consider using a top shelf rum given the residue affects of the use of cheaper liquor. Just dined here for the first time with family and had an overall good experience. We ate out on the patio and even though it was hot out the area was covered and had a nice view. We ordered the grilled oysters, salmon bites, calamari, and deviled eggs for the appetizers. The grilled oysters were alright, I think they look more flavorful than they actually are but to be fair I'm not someone that typically orders oysters. The salmon bites and calamari were good as well. I got the shrimp and oyster po'boy with the Cajun fries and it was pretty good. I felt like the shrimp and oysters were a nice size for the sandwich and had a good flavor. The bayou pasta and shrimp etoufee were also ordered by family. I didn't get to try these items but all of our plates were empty when we left so that should tell you enough . I had the Maui wowie to drink and it was refreshing, delicious, and had a decent amount of alcohol if you want a nice buzz. We made reservations and because it was busy and hard to find parking we were a few minutes late. Our reservation was still honored and we were able to add an extra table for more room for our party. The oyster were high quality and I like that you can order them by the quantity that you want. There are rotating special so keep that in mind! The brisket "totchos" and salmon bites were amazing! I reeeeally like Lagarde. I enjoy my meal every time I go. The first time was for brunch and to watch the UGA game (they have ample tv's). I ordered the salmon benedict and it was sooooo yummy. We ended up staying well past brunch and the staff was really cool about that. I've come for dinner and sat at the bar multiple times and really enjoyed the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. They make delicious cocktails, including that frozen coffee martini (WHEW! IYKYK!). Their patio looks so pretty at night but I've yet to get a chance to sit out there. After our second visit to the CHOA Urgent Care, (a year apart). We decided to give this spot a try. We were greeted by friendly faces, and our server was pleasant. The food failed us big time. Started w 2 orders of gumbo, ummm somebody tell the chef that this is not gumbo. A very creamy (velvety like gravy) base. The flavor profile is not even gumbo flavor. Bland at best. The grilled oysters were not what we expected either, almost as if they were reheated and topped w some sort of sauce. The pasta dish fell flat w soggy noodles and reheated sauce. The Shoyster PoBoy has potential! The fried shrimp and oysters, too seemed reheated but they were plentiful, and the bread was a decent effort to what we expect from a NOLA PoBoy. It was 9:00 by the time we ordered so maybe this is why everything seemed to be not fresh, and just an effort to serve us. Unfortunate, as it seemingly has a great vibe and would like to believe it does better(per reviews). Me & my friend both ordered two dozen oyster trays each, and also got plain wings with ranch. The wings are small, but I prefer smaller wings for a better crispiness, so it was perfect to me! Well I worked in Chamblee for 5 years. I wasn't even aware what this restaurant was until I wanted oysters. I went in for a dinner date, and they sat me down,it did take a while for a waitress because had to call someone over myself.Hannah was awesome!!! I've been there 3 times in the last month on different days and different times. The service and food was good each time! The staff was always accommodating and friendly each time and we were seated promptly. We chose the patio on every visit and love the view. I imagine it would be even better in the spring and fall. Grilled Oysters I love fresh oyster but given that it is summer went with the cooked ones instead and did not regret it. These oysters were succulent and the spices did not overwhelm the delicate mollusks. Green Goddess Salad As salads go, this one is fresh and crisp. I don't eat dressing with my salads so it's all about the freshness of the greens for me. Mussels I had these as my entree on 2 of the visits. Very consistent. The broth wasn't overly salted and the mussels were tender even though they were on a smallish side. Salmon Bites Highly recommend. We ordered these to share on our 3rd visit and they were gone in a flash! Baby back ribs My dinner friend loved her order of the fall from the bone baby back ribs. Cajun fries Yummy! This is my go to casual group dinner place. I am not necessarily a New Orleans-style food fanatic，but this restaurant has just enough Cajun influence to give the food a little spice. Ambiance: Finally, this note is to the management: Please do not put TV screens in the patio. There enough sports bar/restaurants! Do keep the patio a space for food and conversation. Please fix your wine refrigerator. I ordered sparkling wine on 2 or my 3 visits and they weren't cold enough even when they were first served. I am excited to pen this review for Lagarde. Truth be told, I am already thinking of coming back as I write this. It'll be kinda weird, like calling after the first date.. The oyster happy hour is great. Every Tuesday, all day Tuesday, $1 an oyster. Some of the best bluepointe ever had. Crisp, briny , clean, .. omg.. oysters so good you kinda curl your toes. We had 2 doz bluepoints and another doz of VaVaVooms... all thin cups, but sweet and clean, served with all the fixings you want. I am partial to hot sauce, mustard and cocktail sauce. Tuesday also happens to have a special menu. Today, they had big green egg ribs. We enjoyed a rack, but I am biased when it comes to BBQ. As an avid BBQ master, with many hours under the lid, and multiple brisket all nighters, I can say their ribs are good. Mine is better for sure, but I digress. The side of mac and cheese is worth the extra cost fo sure. They have me beat there. Then there is the PO Boy. Many a variety, and my kid decided on ... fried oysters. We definitely eating a lotta oysters today. I heard him bite down on that sandwich and there was a satisfying crunch from the bread crust. The poboy was loaded with oysters, and looked great. I'm a gumbo snob. The worst thing I have to say about Lagarde is that I won't be going back for the gumbo. It is good gumbo, but I am simply particular. EVERYTHING else we had was spectacular. My hush-puppies were perfect. The dipping sauce just gets in the way. My wife's shrimp (La Plancha) was a solid winner. That, combined with the cheese grits is why we're going back to Lagarde. Our friends had the Jambalaya and the Salmon BLT. Both of those looked delicious, but I think the Jambalaya is an absolute winner. I can't wait to savor that dish all by myself. The server who took care of us was fast and friendly. We wanted for nothing. Our glasses were always full, and our food came out fast, hot, and fresh. That staff seems to work very well together. Lagarde is a Louisiana inspired restaurant that has a great selection of small plates, cocktails and of course -- Oysters! I really love the ambience of this place. The lighting is gorgeous in the evening and the staff is so friendly! My favourite part is that they always have specials and they change the menu from time to time-- this keeps you coming back because their new menu items are always well thought out and delicious. Out of the menu items I have tried these are my thoughts: Oysters (grilled) - Delicious, but sometimes over breaded. Last time, we had to take a lot of the breading off as it was overpowering the oyster. The first time I got them they were perfectly breaded. Pimento Cheese and Ranch Totchos - Literally YUM. The flavours compliment each other perfectly and I love the cheesiness. Hushpuppies - Are you kidding me? The best hushpuppies I've ever had. Chicken Sandwich - I wish there was a little more flavour to this one, personally. If you're looking for a simple chicken sandwich-- this will do, but I would not order again. Daube - So tender, flavourful and well made! I loved this dish, the flavours compliment each other well and the meat is cooked to perfection. Smashed Potatoes - very interesting side! My friend who got this really liked it. It had a unique flavour but I personally like my potatoes fried or mashed :) Overall, Lagarde is an absolute gem in the Chamblee area and I have always had a great experience here! Oyster happy hour? Count me in! I've been to Lagarde a couple of times now for brunch and for oyster happy hour, the food has been basic but delicious each time. When it gets busy, parking can be a total nightmare. I recommend parking in the free deck and walking a few extra steps over. That way, you're not having to worry about parking in the compact spots next to large SUVs or poorly parked cars. I brought my parents for brunch back in Sept. 2020 and they were alarmed how packed it was, especially with the timing with COVID. But we were patient and made sure to keep our distance when we could. My parents were NOT pleased with how loud the live music was (see video) but I will remind them to bring ear plugs next time... We ordered hot coffees to start. I was pleased with my order, but I was shook by my mom's order of the pan roasted trout. No, it's not on the brunch menu but my mom was being adventurous and somehow honed in on the most Instaworthy AND tasty dish on the dinner menu. I have also recommended it to friends who have tried and loved it. It's super crispy and fresh and flavorful... but somehow feels light and healthy at the same time. I myself ordered the "Toad in the Hole" French Toast and my dad got the Blackened Salmon BLT. He ate every bite without offering me a bite to try as he usually does, so I'm guessing he enjoyed it. My French toast was simple but it hit the spot. A little heavy for my tastes... but once again, I licked the plate clean so.. no complaints there. And anytime there are no complaints from my parents, it was a good meal. I stopped in with some foodie friends a month later (early October 2020) for the Tuesday $1 oyster happy hour. I thought some of the COVID-19 themed cocktails (the COVID-19ini or the Pandemic Punch) were a little too soon, as it could have been perceived as insensitive to those who have lost loved ones to the illness. I decided to avoid those drinks and ordered a Maude's 75, which was light and refreshing. I'm just mad we didn't make it to the discounted cocktail happy hour. I had to order the $1 oysters and ended up getting a dozen for myself. My friend and I also ended up splitting another dozen of the grilled (garlic butter/Parmesan) oysters, as well, which are also $1 each. I really loved the grilled oysters (I mean... what doesn't taste good doused in garlic butter and Parmesan cheese) and the $1 oysters on the half shell weren't bad. My expectations are never high for oysters during happy hour. I was also tempted into ordering some shrimp that you can order by the half or full pound. I ordered them "New Orleans BBQ" style, which was basically just seasoned garlic butter again but I'm definitely not complaining. Overall, I hate how crowded it gets, especially with trying to maintain SOME personal boundaries since COVID isn't 100% over yet. Even so, I recommend getting there earlier than later to avoid the crowds and enjoy the dog friendly patio and live music during happy hour or brunch time. read more

Very hospitable and pleasant atmosphere, both inside and out. With the bar a prominent feature of the dining area, it was not overly noisy or obtrusive at 5pm on a workday. The food was very tasty. We started with fresh oysters which were properly chilled and served with the traditional preparations on the side. As for dinner, we each ordered tasty entrees ranging from Po Boys to shrimp creole, gumbo and jambalaya. All well-prepared and very enjoyable. The locally made "Samson's Bite" hot sauce was appropriately hot and not overly vinegary. Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive to our needs and always kept the water glasses filled. All in all, a totally enjoyable Cajun experience and one to which I will certainly return! read more

It was ok. Service was below average. Servers don't seem to be assigned tables or maybe just our table? We were asked if we were being helped (no) so that server took our order. We were ready to order because we had been sitting there for over 5 mins. Another server stopped by to see if we were being helped....by that time we were. Sadly we went for brunch so no exciting entrees to order from so we ordered bbq shrimp, shrimp po boy and shrimp and grits. Bbq shrimp was tasty but not enough bread to dip into the sauce. Po boy was just sad. The shrimp were miniature compared to the ones that came with the bbq dish and shrimp and grits. Like really sad. The bread was good tho. Shrimp and grits were awesome! Spicy, flavorful and good sized shrimp. Nice patio Parking sucks -- not enough parking for the retail and restaurants. I hate that about Atlanta. Be prepared to circle and hunt. May go back .... Very impress with this place. Never knew it existed in Chamblee like that, tucked away off PIB. The look and ambiance reminded me something I would find in Midtown. I met up a friend for brunch on a Sunday. During the weekdays, they are open in the evenings. Weekends are open all day for brunch. We met up early and since we both are in love with fried okra, I chose this place. Unfortunately fried okra is not offered during brunch but I asked. They obliged. Yes!!! It's the best fried okra I ever had. My friend ordered egg benedict. He said he had it in France it was yummy but Lagarde's version is even better! That's amazing. The restaurant isn't vegetarian friendly and I'm not a huge egg fan so I ordered the caesar salad. It was drenched in so much cheese and dressing. It was delicious but I was full. Two of my friends live nearby in Chamblee and invited me and a few other friends to dine here one Sunday afternoon. Parking is available in a lot and nearby deck and it was easy to find a spot. I arrived first and went in to grab a table, and the hostess seated us outside. It was unbearably hot with little shade and no fan, so we moved to a large table next to the bar. By this time, my friends had arrived and we began ordering. I saw reviews and opted for the friend chicken sandwich with a side of broccoli (balance lol). Our food came out in good time and at first glance, I was kinda disappointed with my sandwich - it didn't look as crispy as some of the photos on here. When I finally took a bite, it wasn't it at all. The bun was good and whatever sauce they put on it gave it good flavor, but the chicken was not as seasoned or as crispy as I was hoping or as the reviews raved. And the weird part is that the chicken used were chicken thighs and there were about 2/3 pieces of fried chicken thigh on the sandwich. I was expecting a fried chicken breast - white meat. Honestly, the best thing I had was the broccoli. This was literally the best broccoli I've had at a restaurant. I was really hoping the Louisiana/Creole flavor would pull through, but it didn't. We had the tequila mockingbird, funny name. What wasn't funny was other cocktail names such as "pandemic punch" and "black is the new berry." not sure who thought these were cheeky and cute, but they're borderline offensive to be frank. I had read a few reviews of Lagarde and was ready to give it a try. Must have been a VERY off night. First I ordered gumbo. I am really not picky but I can't pass this up. The veggies were crisp and there was no roux was used as a base. It was very dark and think but that was the only resemblance to Gumbo. Sent it back. Ordered 6 raw oysters which in spite of being very small were tasty. I ordered a large oyster according to the description. So I ordered the shoyster po-boy. That would be 1/2 shrimp 1/2 oyster served on Leidenheimer bread from New Orleans. If they insisted on bragging about their bread, the rest of the sandwich should have been better. It was huge. All lettuce. Tiniest pieces of protein ever and their French fries were hollow shells of refried potatoes. The wait staff looked like they should all have been in the kitchen washing dishes so when the bearded and mismatched gentleman came to talk to me about my issues, I had to ask him who he was because he didn't introduce himself as a manager and gave me no name. They comped all but the 6 oysters and my bill was $17.82 tax included. A group of wild horses would have to drag me back there. read more

They had plenty of tables for dining outside. The mimosas were constantly flowing because we ordered bottomless and I will say they are not shy with the champagne which is exactly how I like my mimosas. For food I ordered the blackened salmon avocado toast with a side of tator tots. Everything was really good & filling. I will definitely be returning to try some of the other menu items.
