Definitely 5 stars. My mom and I stopped in for lunch, locals but never been before. It was so delicious. Servers were kind and attentive. We had a caeser salad, huge and great. We also shared coconut shrimp, jr fish and chips, and a side of mash. The gravy was spectacular, don't eat the mash without it. Coconut shrimp were spectacular. Fried fish was just a little on the greasy side. Definitely bringing my husband back. They also have a doggie menu, which we love!! Beautiful views right on the beach. read more

We were so excited to enjoy this restaurant! The atmosphere and music were great. However, after 30 minutes of not receiving our appetizer , our waitress said it was on the way..we received it about 20 minutes later. We still hadn't received our dinner items 1 1/2 hours later so we asked for a manager because the waitress was NOT kind, when we explained the situation, the manager's response was "This is not McDonalds". We were speechless and left. I always want to support local restaurants but we will absolutely never come back. Totally disappointed. We will continue to go to Oceanside even though it's a further drive. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Stayed inside because the music was kind of loud to stay outside. Started with the mussels with lemon garlic sauce. It was excellent, the best I've tried in the area. Lots of mussels and the dipping sauce was so good you wanted to drink it. I had the grouper Rueben and it also was very good. My wife had the crab cake sandwich and said it had a lot of crab in it and was cooked just right. We had a beer each and had a great time. We will definitely be back. read more

I dislike having to write any business a bad review but I have now visited about a dozen times (because its in my neighborhood and has a beautiful view) but we are done being patrons for food and quite possibly for cocktails and happy hour, too. We love the view and the outside area has a great, beachy atmosphere but the service is almost always subpar. There seems to always be 2-3 servers handling the (somewhat small) outside area but even with all 3 of them it takes 7-10 minutes to get noticed (it's self seating) and another few minutes to get a menu or drink order in. We don't usually make a fuss over the wait because we've become regulars and know the drill but it does get frustrating when you see the servers sitting at a table with friends, talking for 10-15 minutes while several tables are waiting. We have had some great food here but it's never consistent and when the food is cooked poorly and we kindly tell the server her response is to grab the dish and walk away. We've both been in the service industry in the past and we know it can be difficult and exhausting (mostly why I do my best to refrain from bad reviews) but we know with a little effort (even a fake smile and greeting) and more motivation to serve their guests they would make more tips and we would continue to be customers 2-3 times a week. Their hours are also very odd and again no consistent. I recommend calling before driving or walking over if you plan to eat because they close the kitchen when they feel like it. We give 2 stars because we have had good food here, the drinks are well priced and the view is nice. We do notice that when we see the owner there the staff seems to be a little more attentive. read more

Nightly music on the deck adds to the ambiance. If you like a great fish sandwich order one here. It's enough for two but get your own because you won't want to share it. This place has changed hands four times since we moved here 12 yrs ago but each new owner does nothing to improve it. It's a shame since it has potential. My husband and I were in the area on vacation and stopped here for date night away from the kids. First off, the atmosphere is so incredibly cool! The decor was right up my alley - beach and turtles mixed with hockey! Our waitress was very sweet and very helpful. Service was prompt and she suggested the fish and chips and even told us we might want to share the portion because it was so large. She wasn't kidding! Hubby and I shared potato skins and the fish and chips, and I'm glad we did. The portions were HUGE and the food was great! While we only get to the Flagler/Ormond area once a year, Lagerheads is now my favorite restaurant, and I can't wait to go back! read more

This is the best local restaurant in Ormond By the Sea!!! Whether it's ahi tuna or a great cheeseburger, this is the place to be. Entertainment is excellent and the view of the ocean is always beautiful. Even if you are not a local in Ormond By The Sea -- it's worth the drive!!!! read more

Ate here with my wife on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30. When we got there the crowd was light and we sat down at an outside table. The atmosphere is dive bar with a view of the ocean, except that the ocean is on the other side of the parking area and across the road and over a dune so mostly your view is of the front bumper of parked cars and cars whizzing by on the road. As we sat waiting for a server the first thing we noticed were the flies flying about us and crawling on the table, and since it was looking like rain we decided to move to an inside table. Once inside a friendly server did greet us and tell us to sit anywhere ( 4 tables to choose from, yes it's very small). Another server was busily killing flies against the windows with a fly swatter and flicking their bodies onto the floor. I saw at least one fall onto a table and it too was flicked to the floor with no cleanup of the table. She gave us a big smile and announced "I'm on fly swatter duty". Incredibly the fly problem was worse inside than outside. We were hungry and against our better judgement decided to stay. A friendly waiter dropped off menus and took our drink order which were delivered without too much of a wait . Our waiter then told us he had two tables at the same time so he was going to see what they needed and would be back. Eventually we were able to order, shrimp po-boy for me and grouper reuben for her. As other reviewers have noted, be prepared for a long wait for your food. The food. Shrimp po-boy was good, 6 decent sized fried shrimp on a grilled roll with lettuce and tomato served with a pretty good remoulade on the side. Grouper reuben was slightly fishy tasting and obviously not fresh, also my wife suspected it was not actually grouper based on the appearance of the fillet. The low rating is based on the horrible fly problem and the unsanitary method of dealing with it, as well as the poorly executed grouper sandwich. We do plan on giving it one more try on a sunny day when we can sit outside. read more
