My smog check was due and I usually follow my dad's recommendation for smog stations. My experiences have been meh in the past and usually I go more towards Sacramento for smog checks. I found Laguna Smog after a quick Yelp search and saw the great reviews, so I sent a Yelp message to the business to setup an appointment and a quote is offered, too. Nick (believe the owner) responded quickly and mentioned that no appointment was necessary, which was super convenient since my work schedule can be unpredictable. I appreciated that the pricing was transparent, since you may not get the chance to ask during a walk-in appointment, as the process of getting checked in can happen so quickly. I've also seen other businesses where reviewers can charged unexpectedly higher prices, as well. The shop is in a cul de sac and there's a sign to indicate where you should park. I was quickly greeted by a person (presumably Nick). He had me fill out info about my car and I provided the car key. I hung out for about 15 minutes and the smog check was done! The price was as quoted. They definitely take card and there's no extra charge for it. Service was friendly. Went to Laguna Smog for a my bi-annual smog for my 1992 Honda Accord. Nick was able to provide me with an honest upfront quote online and made sure I was aware that there would not be a free retest if the car did not pass. Needed to get my car smogged right away and this was one of a few that was opened passed 5 PM! I called and asked if they were still accepting walk-ins and they said they sure do! I came into a very quiet lobby. There were only two other people in the lobby and very shortly after one of the customers left. They have a water dispenser and restrooms for the customers which is nice. The guy who helped me was friendly but quick. He took my keys and got right to work. Also, please mention the coupon they have on their website and see if your car is eligible. My Smog test only cost $39.95 plus $8.25 for the certificate. Also, the time on Yelp says they close at 5:30 PM but they actually close at 6:00 PM on the weekdays. My car was ready in less than a half hour. Highly recommend this place. read more

Most smog places won't touch any of the rear engine or mid engine cars but Nick told me if I could get the cover off the back, he could smog it. Quick 15 minute smog, in and out in no time. The waiting room is somewhat sparse....but who cares when you just want to get in and out.Took one of my cars in for another visit and it failed the test. Thankfully they were able to provide me the code and stated that I could bring it back for a free retest. Confirmed the code with my scanner and got it fixed quick.
