I've read so many bad reviews about the customer service here that I had to update one I did a year ago after today's experience. I don't know who has the crappiest attitude. The heavy-set guy that's checking/driving in the vehicles or the guy at the register. I get it. Life sucks and you hate your job but it must not be too bad if you get to vape inside the garage while on the job. Didn't really care about their attitude last time but this is just too much. This was a recheck for a PCV (visual inspection) and the first time I felt they didn't visual it correctly as the mechanic said it was still ok. Generally my wife and I upgrade our vehicles every 5-6 years; however, due to our world's current economic status (believe it or not-we're in a recession yall), we have decided to hold off on making any large purchases. Therefore, my wife's 2015 Mazda6 hit the eight year mark in which it was required to have a smog check at the time of renewing the registration. To find a local, reputable smog shop, I did a quick Yelp search and found Smog 'N Go. Thankfully, the two Yelp reviews that I read (shout out to Yelp Elites Josiah H. & Gillian A.) mentioned the $10 off coupon that is available upon checking in on Yelp (and also on the Smog 'N Go website). Prior to my visit, I called to see if an appointment was required. The employee that I spoke with informed me that it had been a slow day, and that I should bring it in right away. When I arrived, I drove my car towards the back of the establishment (per the sign at the front of the establishment), where an employee directed me to park in front of one of the garage ports. He greeted me, took my keys, and motioned to the office where I needed to check in. Within the office, an employee asked me a few intake questions and told me that they would call me when the car was ready. I then proceeded to go on a 60 minute nature walk in the surrounding residential neighborhood. When I returned from the walk, and employee greeted me and told me that the car was ready 30 minutes ago (not a problem because I needed to get my 10,000 steps in for the day). Horrible service. I took my vehicle to a different smog n go location (which is over priced) and had a surprise failure due to an electrical issue. That shop essentially told me to drive hundreds of miles to clear the system. I went back to this location after that didn't work to get some advice and have an honest conversation about the issue and the guy told me I'm out of luck and they refuse to even help me the slightest or trouble shoot. At smog 'N Go you simply pull your car around to the back where an attendant will direct you to pull up to the correct bay. I handed the attendant my paperwork and walked through the lobby door to the front register where I signed a form and was asked to take a seat in the lobby while my car was being smog checked. Within 15 minutes I was called up to the register where the attendant said my car passed and after payment I received a form with a "passed confirmation number". What I love about smog n go, aside from their quick service, is that they'll send your passed smog check by electronic transmission directly to the DMV. I still stuff my copy of the pass confirmation number/form with my auto registration to the DMV nonetheless. read more

The fastest SMOG inspection I've ever had in my life. I wasn't even there for 10 minutes. Staff had me in and out. The worker there (assuming one of the managers) is not there to smile or make any conversation. He is there to make the transaction and execute the service successfully. I went there for a smog inspection and obtain a smog certificate because I'm planning to sell my truck privately. I wanted to ask a couple of questions about pricing and the certificate itself but I didn't feel like I had a chance to talk. This Smog 'N Go location closes at 6:30 pm. The closing time is perfect for those who get off work at 5:00 pm and can just head down there after work. (Me for example). I got in around 6:00 pm and followed the sign that mentioned to go around back for quick service. That was what I did! I felt like such a newb as it was my first time ever getting a smog done...but the guys here were very helpful and patient. There was no line so the service was very quick, got in and out within 15 minutes. I also liked that there was a waiting room with a window so it doesn't feel so claustrophobic. Quickest visit I've ever had to a smog shop! I completely forgot to get my car smog'd before re-registering my vehicle, so I got a letter in the mail saying my registration was paid for and just needed a smog check. I called Smog 'N Go the morning of to see if I could stop by for my smog check, and they told me to come on down as their was availability. I pulled up and was directed to the smog diagnostic area and went inside with my paperwork. I normally check in at places so when I did, I saw I got a check-in discount. Which I showed the guy at the register, and he applied it to my check out price.
