I sign the quote and they say my trees will be treated in 1-2 weeks. 10 days later I email them asking when my trees will be treated. No response. 12 days later I call, no answer, leave voicemail. No response. 13 days later I call again, speak to someone and they said I have to talk to the gentlemen that provided the quote. He then calls me - this is where it gets wonky. He says even though he said in his email he would treat in 1-2 weeks he said that he should not have said that because now was not the optimal time to spray. We need to be further into the growing season when the new growth of the tree is complete and they were laying eggs. That doing it now wouldn't be as effective and leave the new growth vulnerable to spider mites. It was a long conversation as I was concerned and it ended with me agreeing to wait and them saying I can trust what they are telling me and that this is best for my trees. Less than 24hrs from that conversation I get a text saying good news, I am the first stop to be sprayed this morning. What????? Why is there even a truck out spaying anyone if this is not the optimal time? I called them on their BS via text. I was lied to. Don't tell me now is not was is best, we agree to doing it later and then say we will be there within the hour to do what I told you yesterday is not the right thing to do. When I told them this was BS they told me to find another tree company to treat my trees and continued to taunt me via text encouraging me do research on this topic, saying "Good luck with you trees", laughing at my text calling them out. And for the record, I did not swear or threaten them. I did say they were feeding me BS and lying, which I still believe they are. I do not recommend using this company. Update: I did the research they told me to do. You are supposed to treat your trees for spider mites Feb-April in Chicago area. They were either lying or incompetent. Amazing company! We had Kyle come out because we were dealing with ants, stink bugs and mice (oh…read moremy!). After a review of our home, he was able to offer us a quarterly plan that was very affordable and was able to treat everything. We learned a lot too! For instance, did you know the stink bugs hibernate in your walls until Spring? Kyle was able to get rid of our ant problem in one shot. Additionally, he set traps for the mice and found some ingress places we were able to close up. Once we rounded up the mice, we haven't seen any since! The disappointment occurred when I learned that I would be charged a credit card fee, especially since I was already paying the highest quote. My daughter runs a tiny business compared to Manitoya Tree Service, and she never charges her customers credit card fees.
