This owner has major problems. He accepted a warranty job from GE. at my home. Scheduled it for a Thursday with GE. I called and left a detailed message for him on that Monday. He sent a text saying "I am not available" Later that same Monday after him not returning my call... I called again. He answered. He appeared under the influence of something. I did not drug test him, but I'd guess alcohol. He was SO RUDE to me, yelled at me. He claimed to not know who I was, or what I was talking about, at all. He was nonsensical when he said: "I can't service you today"... I never mentioned him servicing me that day. The message I left was about the upcoming Thursday service call he accepted from GE. He asked me something repeatedly. I said "it's all in the message I left". He became enraged by my response and hung up on me. click. Like so many reviews on here mention. You cannot run a business hanging up on people, because you are enraged within yourself. Then 2 days later on Wed. I texted back to see if he was coming on Thursday. His "scheduler" responded later that day and said He had know idea who I was (see below) or what I appointment was talking about. Then Thursday morning the day of the scheduled service (Thursday, see below) they cancelled the service completely with GE. This caused a 10-day delay in my issue getting serviced. The owner of this business also lies to cover his apparent alcohol problems. See attached photos. The worst customer service ever! Called for an update on my appointment that was scheduled via a 3rd party. I explained the situation and off the batt was annoyed with the fact that someone had made an "appointment" saying he's the only one that makes appointments; which if that's the case that's fine. He then told me he would be available till the coming week. To which I asked if there was anyway for it to be sooner as I have a household of 8. Rudely he said "yes yes that's the soonest" I followed by explaining to him it was an inconvenience for me as I was told the appointment had been set and was even told that it was an all day type of appointment (I didn't find it odd as that's what happened when I order my appliance). I told him a courtesy call would have gone a long way at which time he decided to cancel my order. Sir you are an approved vendor for GE and probably others. If there's a process that is unknown to us the consumer it wouldn't cost you absolutely NOTHING to walk us through it. I believe in effective communication and you lacked it. As consumers we do not have the knowledge of what procedures or process it takes for you to actually come out and service an appliance. Being honest upfront and transparent can go a LONG WAY. read more

Stay away from this place. The guy who answers the phone is always overwhelmed and stressed. No follow up or returned calls. Any questions about what the tech is planning, he gets flustered and goes on a rant about how he doesn't know anything and the tech knows. call the Tech ( I don't have the tech's number ). The tech ( I think Wes ) seems good and rational. But things get chaotic as soon as phone guy is involved. Three weeks ago they came out for a fridge repair. Eager to fix. Then we needed to order a fan, that was scheduled to be there three days later. I call on that day to see if they heard anything, and that if they got the fan, when they could install it ( need a working fridge! ). Phone guy is super stressed and overwhelmed- at what? Unknown... I call early that next week- did the part come? Stressed chaotic response. "I don't know, I need to check the mail..." more BS I call later in the week- same response. The part was supposed to be there a week ago- three days after the initial visit. I called 4 days later. The same response again. It's now been 2.5 weeks. Never got a call from them. I have to call, but each time he's freaking out. Stringing me along for weeks. It's mid summer and I need a working fridge and would have just gone with another company with the issue already resolved if this guy wasn't involved. Stay away. read more

I always like to give business to the small guys, instead of the big box stores. That being said, I went in to order several parts at Lake Appliance. What a mistake that was! After a month and a half, calling three time to check on the parts and actually going into Lake Appliance three times, I was getting seriously discouraged. Everytime I called, they said they would call me back and I would never receive a call back. Every time I went into the store in person, they said they could not find the parts and they would call me, of course I would never get a call back. This is the part that really upset me, the third time I stopped in and they could not find the parts, I started to nicely explain to the guy that I am getting frustrated, I have been waiting for these parts a very long time and I really need them for a rental property. I live out of the area and went out of my way to personally stop by and check on the parts. Before I could finish, he throws his hands up into the air and says, what the @#$& do you want me to do about it. Get the parts DUDE, that's what I want! I could not belive that he had the tenacity to be rude to me. I don't know how this place is still in business. The place is a mess and they are totally disorganized. Do yourself a favor and don't ever step a foot in this place. I ended up going to a great place in Lake Port, the guys were nice and professional, the place was clean and I had my parts in a week. I have used Lake Appliance & Repair for about 8 years now! I have vacation rentals here at Clearlake! They are the only ones that I would trust to come into my house if I weren't home, or to go into my rentals..They are always reliable and always honest. Wes does GREAT work and can usually always find the problem. Charles the owner goes above and beyond! Grant you they are a small business. Not many employees. THEY ARE NOT SEARS! However they are much more reliable! If for some reason the repair person can not get out the day promised (maybe because the service person is ill) someone will call you and reschedule. They are a great small business! So if you are moving here from the BIG CITY.. you might have to exercise some patience, we are at a slower pace here. Great business!! Thanks guys!! Wish I had the option of giving no stars. I bought a washer dryer and dishwasher from RC Willey's. I requested repairs on September 24, 2021 and they still haven't repaired anything. I have no washer or dryer. They were to be here for repairs on November 12, 2021 Noon to 4:00 P.M. They are a NO SHOW today. Don't call them for anything. A repair for my wine refrigerator was requested by my home warranty company. 5 days later, I had to call Lake b/c they had not contacted ME. I was told the earliest appointment was 4 days after I was LEAVING my vacation home in Napa. I arranged to have someone else be available for an appointment. Fast forward 3 weeks....no appointment, no contact, NADA. Called them today, talked to a very unprofessional individual who responded to my "this is not really acceptable" with a "Fine. I came here to pick up Uhaul equipment after another site let me down hours away. Not only did I have a smaller truck than I originally ordered, and had to pick it up hours away from my destination, it also had none of the equipment I needed. They really helped me out here, got me the equipment I needed, a larger truck, and didn't even charge me. It was quite a bit of work to transfer me into a new truck without a charge and it was after hours so the whole thing was even more generous than simply solving my problems. The 5-star review is for the repairman, Yao Nguyen, who was fantastic! Yao was extremely skilled and did an excellent job at fixing our dryer. The guy was super nice and knows his trade. He was knowledgeable and gave us great information about our appliances in general. Lake Appliance Repair is lucky to have him. My one issue is that I don't think Lake Appliance has enough employees. The schedule is packed and they can only service Napa a couple days a week with people who live out of the area and stay in hotels for a night or two because they don't have enough people. Aside from that being frustrating because it dragged the repair time out 4 weeks, Yao was awesome! read more

Well, I'd like to review this company's actual work, but that's the problem- I couldn't get them to do it! They are American Home Shield contractors- the only in the area- and they were as unhelpful as they could possibly be. They never called me, I had to call them, they came out, took their $60, spent five minutes measuring the appliance, then left after telling me they'd order the replacement. I heard nothing from them so I called after several days, was told they'd call me back- and nothing. After more than a week, I called again, and was told to call the purchasing department of American Home Shield, so I did. I had to provide all the measurements and info myself, because Lake Appliance & Repair failed entirely to do so themselves- despite the grand show of measuring they made on their one visit. I called Lake Appliance & Repair the day before delivery, again to make an appointment for install, but was told they'd call me back. They didn't. The appliance was delivered by third party to my house. Sweet. Called the day of delivery, was told only one person is allowed to make appointments, and he's frequently out, he'll call me back. He did not. Called the next day- same thing. Called the next day, expressed polite concern as to the feasibility of success with such a lack of communication and attention to even the most rudimentary elements of common business practices, met with hostile excuses and conflicting statements as to the whereabouts of Charles- "he's not in, wait, he just came in, he's not in again". There is a point where you suddenly realize you are up against a confederacy of dunces and there is simply nothing you can do. For whatever reason, Lake Appliance & Repair was determined to be unhelpful, rude and obstructionist, as though they resented my intrusion into their vacuumed existence. Even the simplest of tasks like marking an appointment calendar proved to be just too overwhelming, making their representative angry and argumentative. I gave up trying to communicate with her. She seemed to be using English words, but in a way that made no sense- like she was in an alternate universe conversing with some village idiot. I hung up on her and called American Home Shield. No other contractor in the area. So I canceled my American Home Shield contract because while I did save money, it was not enough to have to deal with the total lack of professionalism and simian rudeness that most of their local contractors embody. In the end, I hired another prominent local company to install the appliance- it took only 36 hours from the time I called them (they were quite rational and seemed genuinely happy to help) to when it was installed and I could switch the appliance on- where Lake Appliance & Repair couldn't accomplish that in a week! I certainly wouldn't trust them to do any work involving electricity or gas, not with that level of laziness. American Home Shield did send me a check for the cost of installation in just over a week. Lake Appliance & Repair, I hope you learn to show a little more respect for your customers- no matter who they are, even if they're from American Home Shield. Learn how to use an appointment book, and train everybody how to take appointments over the telephone and above all, try to get someone to answer the phones without sounding like an overworked Texas cocktail waitress. Terrible! I was referred here by my warranty company and have never worked with such an unprofessional company. After two weeks, they still could not give me an appointment. I repeatedly called and was told their technician was sick or the appointment book was not in the office. They always promised to call right back, they did not call even once. They also repeatedly made sure I knew that they'd only had our case for a week, two weeks, etc. I'm sorry, but you should be able to schedule an appointment straight away. I since had my warranty company reassign our case to a repair company who called to schedule our appointment a few hours later. Avoid at all costs. read more

Today Mike from Lake Appliance & Repair came to my house and repaired my dishwasher and ovens. My husband and I could not be more pleased with this company and with Mike! The ladies answering the phone could not be nicer or easier to work with. Mike came to my house right on time and was wonderful. He was informative, he explained everything completely, he was very pleasant and easy to speak to, and he knew what he was doing. After a terrible experience with Sears I will not call anyone else but Lake Appliance and Mike. Even my husband who can be critical could not stop saying how nice and efficient Mike was. After many phone calls we still haven't gotten our freezer fixed. This has been going on for two years, ever since we bought the freezer. A new door arrived at our house about 3 weeks ago with no warning, so that's been sitting in our family room for the past several weeks. They were supposed to come this morning (Thursday) but nobody came by or called. Several hours after the missed appointment I called and was told they had an emergency and wouldn't be able to come out until Monday. Bottom line, don't use them. Lake serviced our new Viking Range under a Viking warranty. Our house is in a fairly rural area near Calistoga and they were willing to go there, take the initiative and address the problem satisfactorily, while some other appliance service companies would not. It was a little difficult to reach them and make an appointment but once the appointment was made they were very responsive and professional. I would definitely use them again. read more

I see that these guys have mixed reviews, but I had a great experience with them yesterday. My wife and I are staying at a friend's mom's cabin in Cobb. Our friend told us that the refrigerator is unusable because it makes a terrible noise. She was right - it did make a constant, horrible screeching noise, super loud. We had to leave it unplugged. I called the guys at Lake Appliance, and a friendly fellow answered the phone. I'm thinking it's a Friday morning just before Labor Day weekend, so what are the chances they'll be able to help me? The guy on the phone says that they don't work much on this type of fridge (Sunbeam), but the repairman Wes can come out and take a look if we'd like. Wes, is available this morning, but busy this afternoon, so I'd need to have him come over now if I wanted help today. He might be able to fix it on the spot, or not, and he won't know until he gets here. I'm thinking that we're only here through Monday, so it won't help much if the part has to be ordered. But we decided to take a chance. Wes was here in about 20 minutes. He was friendly, professional, and obviously knows how to fix fridges because he had the whole freezer compartment apart in about 5 minutes, and had solved the problem in another 5, without needing to order any parts. We now have a working fridge and it only cost the initial service charge. Absolutely worth the $70. Thanks guys, for helping us have a great weekend here, and helping us give our friend's mom a working fridge! read more
