Rude staf, we had bad experience with both employees on duty. very unfriendly for new golfers. The course itself is very below average. Payed 90$ to get yelled at by an employee to hurry up when the group in front of us had just started the hole. Save your time and money and do NOT go here. read more

Took my parents out to dinner tonight at the newly minted Maddie's Fairway Grill (named after the owner's daughter) at Lake Beulah Golf Course. This review is painful to write. We have been patrons of the LBCC for years. It was sold last year and we feared the club wouldn't open for fish fries anymore BUT they did and we were cautiously excited. While the menu and description looks the same, all of the food across the board lacked seasoning. The marble rye and German potato salad were served family style so you could order more - and honestly were shining stars of the meal. While it was a little different, the potato salad came out hot and had a nice tangy dressing as I would expect. I had a cup of the clam chowder which was ok. I ordered the blue gill fish fry which comes with your choice of potato pancakes or fries - I did the pancakes. It also comes with coleslaw and applesauce. I had a 5 fish fillets which is a good amount. Unfortunately the fish didn't have any seasoning so I used my entire container of tartar sauce. I saw most at the table grabbing the salt and pepper. The potato pancakes were really thin hash browns as the potatoes were shredded not grated and they just weren't made like traditional potato pancakes. Our wait staff were wonderful but they had a hard time getting drinks. Some drinks came after the food order because it seemed bartenders were too busy with people at the bar and not making the drinks. Before the purchase of the club, the potato pancakes were authentic so this is a big disappointment. It shows the staff is new and they weren't able to retain any of the old kitchen cooking staff. We all agreed that we would give them another year to find their footing and make any changes they need to and we will try them again. read more

The wait staff was pleasant and the portions generous. We went for the Friday fish fry. We enjoyed our dinner, the food was good. Unfortunately, there was a large group of older people at the table next to us who made the experience less than enjoyable. It included one guy with hearing problems who was generally obnoxious - hard of hearing, loud and throwing around "the N word". Not my restaurant, but I would have asked them to leave. Left a bad taste in my mouth, in spite of the good food. Property itself has seen better days. Entrance up to the restaurant was pretty rough and not well lit. Atmosphere was 1950's -1960's summer camp. There was a good size bar and several televisions. read more

This course is not maintained - when I went I couldn't tell where the fairway was because it wasn't mowed, you can't find your balls in the deep grass, and overall it's just a mess. The course itself is weird - tee boxes are so close together you are hitting at other people, greens are next to each other, and the 622 yard hole just looks like a long field. We've gone there for years for Friday Fish Fry and it has now turned terrible. The fish was soggy and chewy (not crisp), fries were bland and had a frozen taste to them, and it was all so overpriced for the little food we had that had with our meals. We left hungry and disappointed. The 2 ladies working the bar who seemed in charge were not very friendly either. (but our young server was nice). It was a bad experience, and we won't be back. It is heartbreaking as it is a place we used to love to go. read more

Fish Fry Friday is BACK! Great choices fried haddock, baked haddock, perch and bluegill. Potato pancakes were tasty. Full service bar and great old fashions. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Very clean and the atmosphere was charming. This is on my "go to" list! read more

So glad this establishment is open again! 4 people in our party. 2 had perch, 1 baked fish and 1 haddock. All agreed fish was very good as were the potato pancakes and waffle fries. Don't understand giving a bowl of German potatoes when you get a potato with fish? Maybe offer that as an option? The German potatoes were cubed red potatoes with a vinegar sauce (not German potato salad with the hard boiled eggs and bacon like grandma used to make). Coleslaw heavy on the vinegar. Experienced bartender was awesome! Friendly, efficient and made great old fashioned while training new staff. Our waitress was also a delight. Will definitely return and look forward to an even better evening when all staff has been trained read more

Just finished 9-holes of golf. Course is under NEW OWNERSHIP. Ken PGA Pro from New Zealand; very knowledgeable. Wide fairways and fun par 3's. While greens are in horrible shape; there's a LOT of potential! Going back in August/September for golf and Fish Fry next week. Looking forward to all the upgrades they are planning! Went here for a Friday Fish Fry. We ordered only to find out after our order was taken to the kitchen that they were out of certain fish. Now the manager came over and did apologize to us after we ate, so that was cool. However, the lack of several items on the menu was concerning. I want to be fair here as this restaurant has many menu items so they did have plenty of food. The service was good and the staff was pleasant. My suggestion is to call ahead on a Friday night to make sure they have what you want. read more

Lake Beulah is a great place to spend the day playing golf for fun or playing more seriously if you choose to do so. The holes are not super challenging but the shots must still be hit correctly to shoot a good score. The 625 yard par five is a good example of this. One last comment....the staff working there seems to really want your experience to be a good one. If you want to have fun while playing golf this is the place. If my memory serves me correctly (I'm almost 77 now) I started my son out at Lake Beulah when he was about 12 years old. He loved to play and we both had a good time. read more

A very busy fish fry for a good reason, the food and atmosphere are outstanding. This is a homemade, authentic family fish fry. Authentic German potato salad, rye bread, cole slaw, applesauce, potato pancakes and baked or fried fish. Be prepared to wait for a table, the wait will he worth it. read more

Talking to a work acquaintance of my husband and he mentions this place for a fish fry. He was so insistent on how good it was that we decided to give it a try. If you don't live in that area, you are looking at a bit of a hike to get down there, and there is going to be a wait, it is fairly limited seating, so plan accordingly. We were lucky enough that someone in our group arrived earlier than us and put our name in, so for us it was a one drink wait. Side note, an excellently prepared Old Fashioned. The menu on Friday is only for fish fry and when we were seated at about 7:45pm we were told the were out of blue gill and walleye. Shortly after being seated we were brought rye bread and coleslaw to pass. We ordered haddock and one person with us had perch. When the fish came, it came on platters with additional plates of potato pancakes and German potato salad. The fish was fresh and hot, light, crispy batter. Potato pancakes were the real deal, which I find rare, they were great crispy around the edges and soft in the middle. German potato salad also tasted homemade. Also, I guess because this is at a golf club, they are not open all year. read more

Decent 9 hole course, good prices and not very crowded when I went. Fish fry is excellent. About the best I've had. It's not all you can eat but the portion sizes were more than I could finish. Brandy Old Fashioned was fantastic. My wife and I will definitely be returning both for the golf and the restaurant. read more
