The Critical Care Team is phenomenal, including Doctors Vietti, Montaque and Sharpe and their amazing group of nurses Barb, Jamie, Megan, Brittney, Brit and others. We brought our dog in while having significant respiratory distress. They tried to get him to breathe on his own by using High-Flow Oxygen, with no success, and had to put him on a Ventilator. Our dog was able to breathe in oxygen but was unable to exhale the carbon dioxide as it was getting trapped in his lungs. After numerous tests, they determined that he had Eosinophilic Bronchopneumopathy (EBP), a respiratory condition that was attacking his lungs, causing inflammation and an excessive amount of secretion build-up. Because of the inflammation, the secretion build-up was partly blocking his airwaves, preventing him from being able to expel the CO2, which is very toxic and dangerous. Although they were familiar with the EBP, they never saw an instance in which it impacted a causing the airways to get blocked. Long story short they did an amazing job identifying a very unique situation and saving our dog's life. They provided great care during the week our dog was at VSC and communicated very well throughout the process. Not many dogs make it off a ventilator once they are put on one; we were one of the lucky ones. I would never go anywhere else if my dog was critically ill.

I first went to this clinic about two years ago when my senior dog collapsed and had a seizure. By…read morethe time we arrived, he was already doing much better, but we didn't want to take any chances. We lived only 10 minutes away and didn't have time to research other options. Looking back, it felt like a money machine. They ran a bunch of tests, including some that our regular vet later said were absolutely unnecessary. After all that, they still couldn't tell us what was wrong. What they could do was recommend leaving him overnight on oxygen for around $2.5k per night. Ridiculous! Of course I said no because he was already much better. We left with a $1.7k bill and no diagnosis, only guesses. They also referred us to a specialist, where we spent another $1k on tests only to be told that our dog was fine. Fast forward to recently. My dog has colitis and occasionally has flare-ups. He developed diarrhea and, unlike previous episodes, stopped drinking water. Our regular vet got us in the next morning, but I was worried about dehydration overnight, so I called this clinic because it was late in the evening. I specifically asked whether they could evaluate him and give him fluids to help get him through the night until his appointment. I explained that he already has a known history of colitis and that we already had a plan with our regular vet. Women on the phone was very rude and basically told me that none of that mattered. I was told they require a standard list of diagnostic tests no matter what, and then the veterinarian could decide if even more tests were needed. When I asked if we could skip the full workup and just provide supportive treatment, I was told no, that's their policy. So instead I went to another emergency clinic in Buffalo Grove. They gave him fluids, got him hydrated, and sent us on our way to follow up with our regular vet the next day. No endless testing, no pressure, no trying to turn a straightforward situation into a several thousand dollar visit. Based on my experiences, this place seems far more interested in selling diagnostics than providing practical care. Stop giving your money to this clinic, they don't care about you or your pet, they only care about your money!

We have a Bernese Mountain Dog and a French Bulldog - who are obviously very different in terms of both personality and their needs. This past 8 nights, one of her employees Jim stayed overnight in our home with the dogs. He texted me to let me know how things were going regularly and he seemed to genuinely love spending time with the dogs. Our Berner can be stubborn so I typically tell the dog sitters not to walk her, but Jim took both of them on walks daily in order to keep them out of the messy yard. We returned home to 2 calm dogs, without any issues! We joked that the house looks cleaner than when we left - he definitely took care of cleaning up after the messy dogs (which I don't usually expect!) Melissa is great in responding for last minute visits if we are out unexpectedly and now we feel that when it's time for vacation, we can go again without worrying about the dogs!

At first meeting, you'll be struck by their warmth, kindness, and re-assurance. We were afraid to leave our new doggie when we went out of town, but they called us with updates and provided her with the best care. After trying a few different kennels, we are most happy and confident with Northbrook Pet Nannies. Give them a try, you'll be thrilled (and your pet will be too!)

They have more dog food, accessories, treats, and boutique merchandise - however the Bentley's in Bannockburn still has at least twice the selection and stock of the Deerfield Square location. Parking is easier in Bannockburn, than at Deerfield Square, as well. You can bring your dogs in, if they are on leash, but there isn't a lot of room - if they are easily excitable, they might knock stuff over. This Bentley's location really is held back by the size of the store. The Pet People across the street has a bigger store, featuring many of the same - plus many more - boutique and common pet products. Ditto with the Bannockburn Bentley's location. The Pet Supplies Plus just a few minutes south on Waukegan is also pretty good. While you can have this Bentley's special order anything you need, I can do the same thing from Chewy's online delivered to my home. I want to like this Bentley's location, but it's overshadowed by the other larger-sized options - including the other Bentley's - in the area.

I will not mention the name of it it, but it was further away in Winnetka...and the people there were most snobbish. I continued to go there because I didn't know of more places that had raw food. From my first visit to Bentley's I received such friendly attention and help! My dog loved this new brand of raw food so much. When I went in yesterday I was helped out with a new formula for joints for my aging Chihuahua and told the guy I had missed last times sale in the food. He presented me with a $5 off coupon, so nice! My dog is taking the joint supplement easily mixed in with her food! Great place and great service

She was foul as soon as I opened the door and began unloading on me. My dog is a rescue so he gets anxious and shrinks a bit when people are loud and aggressive & she scared him to death. She did not even say hello, she just began berating me from the hall. She did not return my attempt at cordial words or reconciliatory behavior. Not even a hello, no meeting the dog. She didn't even set foot inside. She caused a loud scene. She has cost the company what would have been a $160 plus travel plus tip service every 6 -8 weeks. I am out of the hospital and in need and this was unnecessary escalatory nonsense. Today, N _y- didn't even enter my unit & in under three minutes in my condo hallway, called me "Rude as f_ck!", audibly for the neighbors. A medical professional was on their way to meet me for an evaluation & before greeting me stated "What was her problem?? She almost ran me over stomping off in a huff!" Common courtesy is part of the service industry. This woman imo should not be working with vulnerable animals unsupervised in a van. She couldn't display compassion for the dog in front of their owner so I shudder to think what would happen alone with a defenseless animal in a van. Her Jerry Springer level antics were unwarranted but this nasty woman N_ y _ swore and stomped away for no valid reason. There was a technical issue. I spoke with a gentleman first thing in the morning, hours prior to the appointment to explain the issue and how to navigate to avoid any problems. It was easily navigable with minor effort. Appliance delivery, a hospital worker, grocery delivery and a physical therapist had no problem with me today. I had other appointments, but my dog was my priority. This alleged professional acted like a sitcom over the top nasty DMV worker with an irrationally irritated attitude, like my mere presence was a hassle for her. I no longer trust this company, because they did not even check on me or text to ask what occurred. That shows (imo) their endorsement of her swearing and lack of concern for customer experience or loss of customers. She refused to listen to explanation for the technical issue & raged like a wrestler on steroids. I planned to rely upon this service every 6 -7 weeks for the foreseeable future while I recover. Her unnecessary actions & dropping the F Bomb have cost them a customer, but they clearly aren't concerned, because they didn't check in or follow up, And that makes me worry for the animals in the care of people knowingly employing someone like this woman, I don't trust my dog with aggressive hot headed persons - nor should anyone imo.
