Absolutely LOVED this place! The rooms were clean and modern. Plenty of space too! The staff were friendly, and welcoming. The restaurant attached to the hotel had a Great Lake side vibe, and delicious food! The beautiful mountain and lake views were just awesome. AND - you could just walk right up to Main Street and enjoy the town! We will definitely be back!

My family stayed here for one night prior to our visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame. We got to town with no reservations and Lake Front Hotel was one of the few places with vacancy. It was also one of the most affordable in the area. The photos online do not do this hotel justice. It's not a new facility; It's exterior corridor, and still uses physical keys. That didn't matter to us at all. James was working Guest Services when we checked in; he was so pleasant and friendly! We got cocktails at the restaurant that evening as well as breakfast and lunch the next day. The Bloody Mary was the best I've ever had and our bartender, Daisy, was an absolute delight! She was helpful and made us feel comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again, it doesn't hurt that it was $150-$200 cheaper than most other places. To address the other reviews, this is not a luxury hotel. It had beds, basic amenities, and it was clean. Coffee was not available in-room, but it was complimentary in the lobby and available at the restaurant.

The hotel offered a beautiful stay for our quick trip to Cooperstown. Rooms are nice and cozy. We were also given coupons for meals at the restaurant.

This pace has a great setting on the lake. Service was not very good and slow. Got the fried shrimp and fries. Decent flavor and size. My son got the fried haddock and he said it was decent. Place was a little pricey but worth checking out. I would definitely go to try some other dishes and maybe a few drinks.

Location...Location...Location. This hotel is a few minutes walk to the Baseball Hall of Fame and downtown Cooperstown. Check in was quick and easy. My room was clean and good size. The rooms don't have a refrigerator so bring a cooler. The views of the Lake are great. The only negative and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the bed was way too stiff for my tastes.

I like the staff They are very friendly and kind Apple-raspberry cider from Fly Creek was really good

Great place in Cooperstown if you're looking for Casual dining overlooking the lake. Nice cocktails and friendly menu.

I would give zero stars if possible. While I know the hotel is upfront about the limited amenities despite the price, the haughty attitude about these limitations is my complaint. To demonstrate, I am attaching a photo of the shower-head, if you can call it that. The fact is that changing a shower-head is neither difficult nor expensive. The refusal to do this simple thing to make a guests stay more comfortable speaks volumes. This hotel is missing out on an opportunity to provide visitors with a lovely setting in a beautiful town. It is not worth the money - not even close.

    Broiled seafood combo.. yes please!!

We just ordered burgers and fries, but they were fantastic. Great food, great atmosphere, and exactly what we needed after a morning of baseball. And Karen was absolutely wonderful! She was the exact opposite of the definition of a "Karen." She was smiling, welcoming, genuinely excited to have us there, and just an absolute joy. Then there was the Long Island Iced Tea. After spending the entire morning at the baseball field and heading into the afternoon, YES, I needed one! Stephan made it, and I have to say, it was probably one of the best Long Island Iced Teas I've ever had. Phenomenal! So, if you're looking for a place in Cooperstown to grab a great meal, have a good drink, and get a little much-needed mental health time after baseball, this is your place! Thank you, Double Day Cafe, for knocking it out of the park! Great food, great drinks, and even better people. We'll definitely be back! If you want a good meal and good drinks in Cooperstown, come here!

We also know great service when we see it and always love to give credit where it's deserved! We called ahead with a large team of about 30 people and were told they could get us in. When we arrived, they were very transparent that they were working with a small crew, just two girls out front and one guy in the kitchen. With a group our size, we were a little nervous at first, but we had absolutely nothing to worry about! Zoey was our server and she was amazing. She handled our entire group with so much grace and professionalism. She kept everything organized, made sure the kids' food went in first, stayed on top of drinks and orders, and somehow managed to get all 30 of us taken care of and on our way in great time. The bartender was also incredibly nice and helpful, and together they kept everything running smoothly despite being short-staffed. The food did not disappoint either! The Reuben, burger, and Reuben burger were all fantastic, and of course the boys loved the wings and boneless wings. If you're visiting Cooperstown or heading to the Baseball Hall of Fame, definitely make Cooley's Stone House Tavern one of your stops. Unfortunately, it is no longer appreciated for it's greatness as times have changed. As a Resort Guest, I had the breakfast option which was a great choice to enjoy such elite dining on premises. Convenient and top notch. In the times I visited (July 2021) it was trailing to the end of the COVID nightmare (but before Delta) and the buffet was open and full quality was there. About all a guest could notice was the diligent wearing of masks by staff. The buffet was as good as you can get. Full fruit and Continental options, or hot eggs, meats, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. And eggs/omelets made to order. The only drawback was that I didn't want to over eat to start the day. needed a second stomach. Upon sitting the wait staff gets any drink you need (coffee/juices) as part of my breakfast included price. I was only brought a check at the end for a gratuity. Some uneven service getting to drinks quickly but it wasn't hard to get their attention if needed. There is a fancy dining room (I dropped a couple of photos) and a nice outdoor patio facing the lake. The outdoor seemed to fill up first albeit the weather was near perfect so can't blame. A point of confusion was logistics and dress code. Upon check in, the desk clerk let me know where it was and strongly advised a reservation and let me know it was fine dining and dress code was appreciated. Not knowing what time I wanted to eat I called late and no answer. I called restaurant services when I woke up and was forwarded to the casual dinner restaurant. I called the desk and had them transfer me, same as just calling, forwarded to casual not answered. No worry, I arrived and they had the guests on a list and it wasn't crowded enough to be an issue. Other thing was dress code. Some things I'd read in the literature was no sports gear, no hats, etc. Since most of the patrons were at the hotel for recreation (kids baseball tournaments, Hall of Fame, etc.) I didn't think wearing a T-shirt and tennis shoes would be an issue. It wasn't. Just don't wear swimwear. At the time I went it was breakfast only. If and when it opens for dinner do not listen to this advice and discuss with the management. Really nothing wrong here, can't withhold even a star. If you stay here, eat here. If the cost is too much, then find a place in your range but you won't beat the quality. This buffet was as good as it gets.

She offered to bring out a couple dipping sauces for our fries, and I asked for the bourbon jelly, which she was willing to do. That initial interaction set a great tone. The food itself was very good--both burgers were delicious. Unfortunately, after we placed our order, the service dropped off completely. We waited about an hour for our food, with no check-ins, no water refills, and no acknowledgment of the delay, even though our server walked past our table multiple times. At one point, I had to get up and find someone to talk to. I asked a man near the front for a manager, explained we had been waiting an hour, and pointed out our table. No one ever came over afterward to follow up. We were later told there was a large party, which is understandable--but that's not something customers or servers can control. A simple check-in or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. Instead, we were told we "should have said something," despite no one coming to the table. At the end, we waited again for the check, and when my daughter calmly tried to explain our frustration, the server spoke over her and said, "I'm almost 50--I've been doing this since I was 17," which came across as rude and unprofessional. The food was good, but the lack of communication, attentiveness, and management involvement made this a disappointing experience.
