I used to go to this business frequently growing up, but haven't been in the establishment in years and with this type of attitude won't be going back. Went in this morning to get a breakfast burrito @8am also my daughter needed to use the bathroom. The elderly man at the register seemed bothered by having customers, he gave her a dirty look, handed her the key to the Porta potty, while I was waiting for her I asked him where could I purchase chicken feed and he's rude. He said we are Lake Matthews store not feed store and I said oh, is that a separate business and he rudely said yes that would be Lake Matthews feed store, the woman in the back preparing the food asked if I would like a sandwich and I said I was waiting for my daughter to come from the bathroom and I asked her about tacos and she said we don't do that anymore and she was like I'm preparing lunch. So I went out side to wait for my daughter because It felt awkward in the store, then she went in to return the key and came back to the car, and the man came out with the keys and opened another door and went into a clean bathroom. We love this community store. When one lives in the sticks, it's great to be able to run to the local market if we run out of cream or just want some munchies for a movie. Plus, the sub sandwiches are fresh and really good. Friday-Sunday, they serve fresh made street tacos and quesadillas (carne asada and carnitas). I know this this general store has really good food reviews, and my friends and neighbors love their food. My review isn't about their food, however. My husband and I have now gone twice for propane on the recommendation of my feed store next door. Their propane prices are a bit higher than our usual propane stop across town, but we've tried for convenience sake. We're both friendly people, but we've been totally put off by the deliberately surly attitude of both gentlemen working there. We've been rebuffed at every opportunity at them even pretending to be minimally courteous. They make no bones to let you know that helping you is majorly annoying and inconveniencing them.
