Yeah, this place was exceptional. We had a group of 6 families from SF, LA and NY converge on this property is Pismo Beach. From arrival through departure the staff was excellent. The rooms are unbelievably spacious with full kitchen, washer/dryer and what felt like 500 TV channels. The pool was heated and great for swimming with kids. Access to the beach was super convenient. Lots of spots for great photo ops and proximity to good food; though I should note that Lido was an excellent choice for our arrival dinner and departure brunch. This resort is located a short drive from San Luis Obispo. There is limited parking so using the valet is recommended. Customer service is valued, so feeling welcomed is one of the benefits of staying here. Our room overlooked the ocean and had a balcony to enjoy the views. This became our second year in a row to stay at this resort. But we made sure to reserve the Ocean Front Penthouse Suite that featured views of the ocean and swimming pool this time! And let me tell you, we had the best time here! Splurging on an upgraded room made our entire 4 day and 3 night stay perfect! We were able to visit with my family who live nearby. But most importantly, our elderly father got to see the Pacific Ocean from our dining and living room areas. Needless to say, he spent a number of hours each day relaxing in his wheel chair just taking in the beautiful ocean views. Our suite was very impressive to say the least! It had the luxuries and amenities as our previous room but twice the size! I couldn't believe the amount of cabinet and cupboard storage throughout the entire suite! We took advantage of using the full kitchen, dining room and comfortable living room as much as our time would allow. My sister, her husband and the family dog, got the master bedroom, large walk-in closet, and bathroom, while my dad slept in the second bedroom. As usual, I slept on the sofa, but got to sleep in front of the cozy fireplace. (But for some reason, it didn't give off any heat). My dad and I shared the spacious main bathroom. This time, the televisions in each room were a little easier to tune into and watch our favorite shows. There is also a separate laundry room. The balcony from the dining area was awesome, and we spent a lot of time relaxing out there when the weather warmed up. The few issues we had during our stay, was that the beds are elevated too high to comfortably get on and off. And the toilets are down too low for lifting oneself up! This was especially difficult for my dad, but we all had an unusually hard time! Maybe because we are all in the senior citizen age group? It just seemed to me that choosing high beds and low toilets in a resort hotel were inconvenient to say the least! What happened to standards? Back to the good points. We decided to make use of the hotel's room service for our daily breakfast. The menu gives you a limited number of items to choose from which is still a nice selection. The Lido Restaurant downstairs prepares the food, and there is only a short amount of waiting time before someone arrives with meals. Their food is always made to order, very delicious and satisfying! My dad especially enjoyed his favorite dish of 2 eggs over easy, sausage, and toast every morning. I made a point of trying something different each time, and enjoyed the food immensely. My sister and I wandered around to check out things to do while we were there, including the fitness room where we got in some exercise which I hoped made up for all the food we were eating! LOL! Unfortunately, the TV in that room was too complicated for us figure out! The spa center looked interesting, but it was so hot inside, we had to cut our visit short. But as I try to keep my review from getting too long winded, it's important for me to add, that the entire staff members here were helpful, warm and friendly, from beginning to end. We all agreed that this was one of the best vacation times we shared together in a very long time! I only wish my mom and fiancée could have still been on this earth to enjoy it with us! We sit outside in the beautiful weather, behind a shield to keep the wind off of us as we sat Overlooking the ocean and coast. We came here for a few days for our strategic board planning. I started my stay with lunch at the restaurant. The service was great and the food was amazing. The server in charge was very attentive to every request. The valet guy was so courteous. Since I had to leave the first thing Sunday morning, he parked my car closer to my building and gave me the key so I would not have to wait for them. After talking to the valet guy, when I ran into him, he courteously addressed me. The room is amazing. Each room is a suite. There is a full size kitchen equipped with all appliances. The living room has a fireplace. The best part is the ocean facing balcony. There are two wall in closets and his and hers bathroom. The best thing is the suite has a washing and dryer machine. I was able to do my laundry before I packed and left the hotel. This is a hotel that we definitely will come back for strategic planning. read more

This was our 2nd time visiting, loved the first time so we had to come back. We booked the 2 Bedroom Executive Ocean Front. They assigned us room 313, which was just to the right and above the out door restaurant seating area. The view from the balcony was awesome, straight forward unobstructed view of the ocean. The ground are beautiful maintained. They have a walking tail along the cliff. Primary Room (4.75 Stars) The king bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and extras in the closet. The bed stands each had a USB plug box, plenty for all the tech charging. The only issue was non on/off touch lamp (-.25 star), they really should use the same lamps in the bedroom that they use in the family room. The walk in closet had plenty of room and hangers. Second bedroom queen bed. My daughter stayed there, she had no complaints. Kitchen (4 stars) the only issue was that it had no cutting board (-.1 Stars), but everything else was great, dishwasher, full standing refrigerator with ice maker. Love the ice maker in the room, I didn't have to go outside for ice. Dining area (5 Stars) plenty of seating around a large circular table. Family room (4 stars) The couch was ok, very stiff, not very comfortable to watch TV. I loved the touch on/off lamps on each side of the couch. They should put everywhere. Laundry room (5 Stars) comes with a full standing ironing board and iron. Washer dryer combo, emergency flashlight, nice touch. Primary bathroom (4.5 Stars) it has a full walk in shower with tall shower head. great water pressure. large tub. the Toilet not in separate room (-.5 Stars) Outdoor Jacuzzi and pool (5 Stars) good size Jacuzzi with jets, clean, hot, good stuff! Valet (4.5 Stars) great service, they have a bellman they can help with bags, loading and unloading from the car. The only issue was they are not available 24hrs, if you arrive late they can't help with the bag or valet the car (-.5), but the check-in (5 Stars) was open 24hrs, no issues checking in late. This is how a five-diamond resort property should be run. We started with a massage for my wife while I relaxed at the pool. From the moment we arrived on property, every single person we dealt with were wonderful, sincere, and helpful in every way. As the afternoon wore on, we didn't want to go home, so I went up to the front desk to see if we could get a room at the last minute. The manager, Kyle Hernandez came to our rescue. Once I told him we were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary, he made it all happen for us, and had a delicious fruit platter in our ocean front suite waiting for us to enjoy when we checked in. If you want to relax, this is your place. This is my second time here at dolphin bat spa. I chose the relax/Swedish for an hour. You have access to the main pool and jacuzzi of the hotel for that day of your appointment. They offer the sauna too before your appointment. Front desk is really friendly. They give you your locker for your personal stuff and give you robe and slippers to make you comfortable. I personally recommend cherish, really good, pinned the places that i want her to focus on. Really different from the first visit i had. She said she does facial too so i will do that next time. At the end of the session, you can hang out and relax in the spa lobby as long as you want, take a nap if you want with your complimentary champagne. Definitely recommended read more

Wow . I had my wife's 50th surprise party here and it was amazing. I want to give a huge thanks to the organizer Mary Ventura, she was a pleasure to work with and really helped in so many ways. Not one problem ... sheer perfection! DB a lovely get away. It allows me to escape a very stressful career and leave it behind while I'm there. It's intoxicating. Try to get a room with an ocean front. Sleeping with the doors open to hear the waves is heaven on earth. The two bedroom ocean front has a long balcony that extends from the living room to the master bedroom. So, if you're relaxing in the living room, you have the ocean. Go to sleep with the lullabies from the waves. I left completely distressed on a high. PS - thank you for your wonderful service Erica and Julissa. Everyone is great here, but Julissa is their secret gem. I always ask for her as she is absolutely the gem that made me give it another try. Wow -- just wow. After a 7-hour drive from Northern California, we had a terrible experience at a nearby Airbnb and were honestly ready to scrap the trip and head home. As a last-ditch effort, we stopped at Dolphin Bay around 2 AM hoping for a room. Jacob at the front desk completely turned our night around. He jumped into action, got us settled quickly, and went above and beyond to take care of us despite our unexpected arrival. His level of service was incredible. We woke up the next morning to a stunning ocean view and realized we had stumbled into something special. What started as one of the worst travel experiences quickly became one of the best. The one-bedroom suite was incredibly spacious, the food was delicious both at the restaurant and through in-room dining (we tried both), and everything arrived quickly without long wait times. The valet team handled everything with care and urgency, and every employee we encountered was attentive and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. What stood out most was the General Manager, Erica. She was everywhere -- helping at the front desk, assisting guests, in the restaurant, at the pool, even parking cars -- all with a smile on her face. That kind of leadership is rare, and it clearly shows in the culture of the entire staff. Even though the property was fully booked during our stay, it never once felt crowded or chaotic, and the staff never seemed behind or overwhelmed -- which says a lot about how well this place is run. This trip was especially meaningful for us because it was one of the rare times we've traveled without our six kids -- and the entire time we were there, we kept saying how we can't wait to come back with them and make this our new family vacation spot. For context, I have traveled quite a bit and tend to gravitate towards places that have feel like I'm getting pampered, which sounds incredibly spoiled I know. We got the 2br ocean suite and LOVED it. The views were incredible, and the best part was that they are super dog and kid friendly. I don't usually stay for hotel events but we ended up catching their Home Alone movie showing and it was so much fun!! You can tell they really care about their guests because the event was seriously legit - a whole setup for Chicago-themed food, lights and decorations, and just a fun atmosphere. First off this is a great facility. We loved the room and the grounds were spectacular! Having said that the atmosphere was ruined by a group that had taken over the pool area. I know that noise is expected when there is a pool. But this level of chaos was insane. Kids were sliding on the pool decking like a slip and slide, screaming at the top of their lungs, all bbqs were all being used and bottles of booze being passed around. It felt like the resort was a timeshare or condo community. During the week the kids probably back at school, every thing was calm and the atmosphere was what you'd expect for a Pismo Beach resort. With the exception of the first day and night, all in all everything was great! Rooms are nicely furnished and the staff was great! Maybe don't book for weekend stay. read more

Love this resort. I've been going there for the last 6 years. One year the washing machine was broken. Garbage disposal stop working. August of 2023 my mother turned 90. We celebrated her 90th!! It was so nice. We stayed in a two bedroom condo facing out to the pool/ ocean. The Sub-zero refrigerator stopped working. The next day, Hospitality brought us a refrigerator and it was placed in the living room area. That was a mess!!! Everyone was so disappointed. I have been coming to Pismo Beach for my entire life and somehow have never been to this resort--until now! Dolphin Bay is now the only hotel I will be staying at when I come to Pismo. Immediately as we pulled in to the lobby we were greeted by the incredible valet team and lead into the lobby where we were taken care of by the front desk staff. We wanted to bring our frenchie on our anniversary trip so a dog friendly hotel is a must! I made a few calls to different hotels, but Dolphin Bay offers what we were looking for. The hotel was right off the freeway so really easy to locate. We got there about 15 mins before check in time. The lady at the front desk checked us in and told us our room would be ready soon. Once ready, she gave us some directions of the our room, pool, beach, and restaurant. Once we entered our hotel room, we were speechless. The room was so spacious and clean. Our frenchie even has his own dog food, bed, doggy bags, and treats! We had an outdoor patio with chairs, table, and a lovely view of the ocean. If we decided to cook in the hotel, they had a stove, microwave, and oven. They provided pots, pans, bowls, plates, and everything you need! I am a Hilton Honors member and had reserved a two bedroom suite in Pismo Beach only to realize upon arrival that there was not a jacuzzi. My kids were so disappointed. The next morning I drove around trying to find a nearby hotel that could accommodate my family of 4 plus our small dog, that had a last minute vacancy as well as a jacuzzi. I stumbled across the Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa and initially spoke to Patrick who was very helpful. Later on in the day when I came back to the hotel I spoke to Kyle, the night manager. I used to work at the Marriott during my college years and know how important accommodating guests are in the hospitality industry. Kyle went over and above to help us. He deserves 10++ stars! We also enjoyed Jay, the valet. He was incredibly friendly and took good care of us. The two bedroom suite was beautiful, super clean and the staff we encountered, including at the restaurant, were very attentive. The grounds were immaculate and well maintained. We stayed at the Dolphin Bay Resort from Sunday through Friday and had an incredible experience. The rooms were huge and luxurious. We had a gorgeous 2 bdrm suite on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and ocean. It was perfect for our family of 4. So spacious, beautiful interior, laundry inside the suites, full kitchen, etc. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Grab a book, a nice desert from Lido restaurant, and a glass of Opus One and you will be set. The staff (and I mean ALL STAFF) made you feel like you were their only client, at all times. There's so many people that I came in contact with that I'm sure I'm missing out on some names but some of the folks who really went above and beyond were: Lisa, Kyle, Alex, all of their bell staff, pool staff, Lido staff, and Robert, Greg, & Cheyenne from their Spa. I mean just absolutely top notch service. If you have any questions or doubts about booking, look no further, you will be in fantastic hands. The great: 1. The housekeeping staff here are elite. I can't praise them enough. The room was sparkling when I checked in. Not easy for a very pet-friendly hotel. The small touches (see pics) make all the difference to me. 2. The suite was excellent with a spectacular view. Views are good but views with easy access to the beach are the best. This hotel has that. 3. I ordered some appetizers to be ready in the room at check in. They were perfect (see pic). Again the small stuff matters. 4. I was late checking out and they couldn't be more polite about it. The okay: please ask room service staff to wear masks when they enter rooms. Even if it offends the flat earth people. Summary: One of the best hotel experiences I have had. The central coast isn't a hotbed for customer service or hospitality but this hotel is definitely an exception. read more

I stayed here sharing 2- 2 bdrm, ocean view suites with 8 ladies. Our suites connected via the balcony. The views were magnificent looking over the pool area to the ocean. The sunset was one of the prettiest ones I've seen. The suites were so roomy, immaculate, full kitchen including anything needed, and the perfect ladies night out stay. We sat in the jacuzzi, swam in the pool and received wonderful massages at the spa. We dined in their restaurant, everyone was very happy with their meals, the drinks, and extravagant list of wines. I ordered the pork chop, it was better than one I have ever eaten, thick, large, and seasoned and cooked to perfection. To top off our amazing stay were the employees. What a wonderful team they have working there. Our server, Russell, was so accommodating and made sure we were all happy and taken care of. Our Valet driver/parker-Jay, went above and beyond on helping us check in and out. So friendly, kind, helpful, can't say enough about him. You don't need to think twice about staying at this amazing resort. We were all beyond happy and certainly plan a re-do! read more

We take trips up and down the coast about once a year, but this is the best resort out of all of them. The employees here are all top notch and super polite and friendly. The rooms are usually spotless and the kitchens are full of everything you need to have a family breakfast/lunch/dinner. Everyone from the valets, bellhops, to the front desk clerks and housekeepers are amiable and helpful. (Props to Linda and Kyle.) Don't feel like cooking but don't want to go to a restaurant? That's fine - DePalo and Sons is just around the corner and has affordable delicious deli food. The restaurant Lido downstairs at the hotel is pricey (and some of the entrees are imperfect) but the servers, bussers, and hostesses are awesome and super friendly. Great job Dolphin Bay. They had a little welcome bowl for our dog with a ball, bags, treats and a dog bed. The location is also wonderful because you are right on the cliffs of the beach so you can walk along the walkway during sunset. You can also walk down some steps right onto the beach. My fiancé proposed here! I originally booked the ocean view penthouse suite to celebrate his 30th birthday & it turned into a beautiful, relaxing place to celebrate the engagement as well. We had such a wonderful time! The staff was very courteous, responsive, & helpful. Everything & everyone from the front desk staff, room service, the spa, valet, Lido (which I'll write a separate review for), the gentlemen who helped us with our bags & housekeeping were phenomenal! The view was to die for! Waking up to the ocean & the sound of it every morning is something that will truly be missed. The penthouse was massive & very comfortable & it didn't take long for us to feel like we were at home there. The only real concern that we had at the end was that one of the housekeepers showed up under the weather & also took off her mask once she began sneezing & sniffling. Patrick was wonderful enough to send someone else with Clorox wipes after I called & I was able to wipe down the surfaces so we wouldn't risk getting sick. Thanks to the lovely Covid situation, we haven't had the opportunity to return to The Dolphin Bay Resort for a few years. This last weekend, we returned and we are so glad that we did! This is such a beautiful resort and our ocean front suite was huge! These suites come with every possible amenity that you could wish for. Prior to our arrival, I had the pleasure of speaking to the GM, Erica who was so helpful in our prior stays. Once again, Erica was so friendly and professional. She is honestly the best GM, I have ever been in contact with. Speaking of contact, every single team member at Dolphin Bay is so nice and incredibly helpful. This is a beautiful resort, arrived with my three best girl friends for a weekday getaway. From the front staff to the housekeeping, everyone I have encountered with really went way above to make sure we had everything we desired and needed! I am not sure how to put everything about this gorgeous resort in a short review, but I will try! Firstly, the reason I was booking this room was for a staycation for my moms birthday. Did not want to travel far during a pandemic. The online booking was simple, I searched for a hotel with 2 bedrooms and an oceanfront view. This resort popped up and because I was looking a month ahead they had some decent discounts available via their own website. The 2 bedroom ocean front suite was available midweek in April for $551 a night. Now granted I know that's expensive, but for what you get, it was an incredible deal. I'm bummed it wasn't available for more than 2 nights! (I was told by an employee that they are almost always at 100% capacity (and I can see why!!)) Check in is at 3pm, I called at 1pm to see maybe if it was ready early and it was. Check in was a breeze! Complimentary valet. When I pulled up valet was gone helping someone, but I walked into registration and the lady said just leave my car there and valet will unload luggage, bring to room and park my car. She went over the hotels amenities, answered a couple questions, gave me the room key and I was on my way! Entered our room to have a look around and not even 5 mins later the nicest valet was there with all our luggage. The room is incredible. 1600 square feet. Full kitchen (sink, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, oven with electric range, microwave, coffee pot, blender, toaster, pots/pans/full dishes, should i go on?), dining room 4 chairs, breakfast table 4 chairs, breakfast bar with 3 stools, living room with a pull out bed couch. Master bedroom with a king bed, massive walk in closet, large bathroom with soaking tub, stand up walk in shower, and 2 sink vanity. Other room with a queen bed, and walk in closet. There is a second full bathroom with a tub and shower comb and 1 sink vanity, and it's not connected to any room. Washer/dryer combo room with ironing board and iron. Living room and master bedroom with large glass sliding doors to the balcony which has 2 chairs and a small glass table. For 2 people it was so luxurious. But I can totally see like a big family staying here, or 2 couples. For such a large room it was actually really clean! I've stayed at 2 other hotels in the area during this pandemic, and they both were so grubby, and just getting by on cleanliness, but dolphin bay is above and beyond! They do offer room service currently that follows the same hours as their restaurant Lido does, approx 8am-9pm it's available. The paper menu for room service was given at check in and it looks pretty much exactly as the restaurant menu looks. But I'll post the pics cause I didn't see one on here. I didn't end up ordering room service because I wanted to eat on their gorgeous ocean view patio at Lido and get served! And I recommend going to Lido! (Went for both a dinner and breakfast and both were outstanding). (Did not use pool, fire pits or spa) WOW. Trust me, I could go on and on about this place. But that's all I will say about this hotel room for this time. I will 100000% be back! And quite frankly I will never stay at different hotel in this area again.
