I found that Arvidson's is the best at understanding what pools need for the right balance, and then following up to ensure everything turned out okay. I went there two days ago, and I had a high level of ammonia in the pool. I have no idea how that would have happened. Rather than sell me an expensive round of chemicals, they told me to drain 1/3 of the water out of the pool and refill it. They said that would mean I would need less to balance the water. When I returned today, the Ammonia levels were low enough that I didn't need to do anything other than add (a lot) of chlorine. More than anything, I trust their judgment in chemically treating pools.

He does some additional work around the area like cleaning out the gutters so the leaves don't get into the hot tub. If there is an issue, he does not stop until it is fixed, including multiple visits to make sure and then he doesn't even bill me until the job is completely done. His prices are very reasonable and he will look for the most economical solution for repairs. It is hard to find such honest service these days. Be patient, he is a one man shop so may not be able to service right away.

The pool was supposed to be finished by years end 2020 and it's still unfinished in November 2021. I have continued to make payments during 2021 in hopes the pool will be finished. I paid an additional 40k due to price increases and he once again promised it would be completed before winter 2021. Now material costs have risen once again. Daniel Kamide from Dana Pools is asking for even more money to finish the project that was supposed to be completed in 2020. His new projected completion date is mid 2022. Waiting another winter for them to finish the pool will lead to further damage, possible wall collapse and just a complete waste of time money. The pool has cracks all over which they tried to repair saying a pool liner would solve the issue. I hired another pool company to inspect, and they were shocked to see this type of damage on a new install. They said a pool liner would only last a little while before further cracks appear and cause major issues. The last straw was after the installation of the pumps and equipment. I was notified that Daniel Kamide returned after installing the pumps and started to disconnect everything. He attempted to steal the pumps and equipment he installed a few days earlier. We immediately contacted the Lake Forest police department and luckily, they arrived just before he left. We have begun to peruse legal action against Dana Pools and hope no one else falls for their terrible work and shady practices

When I noticed the Bullfrog Spa store in Gurnee, I recalled that I saw them at the Lake County Home Show, so I walked in. George and Levi helped me with my spa purchase. The one thing that was appealing is that the cover, the cover lifter and the stairs are all included in the price (not nickel & dimed, like other places), and they also included a 4 month's supply of chemicals for my tub. Great price, quick delivery, seamless transaction...Where do I sign!? Then their tech, Ashley stops by to check on things, provides me with more education on the spa, shows me how to operate it and use the chemicals; he was a wealth of information and told me to call him anytime if I have questions. Phenomenal Customer Service!!

So like a fool I wrote the check. Five weeks later they drop it off in my driveway missing parts. They wont even call me back so I can order the parts. Three installation companies promised to solve all my problems. All three no showed. Now over two months later the spa is still in the drive way and the BullSh*t Spa company could care less.

No major problems, just routine maintenance. Always responsive and very knowledgeable about the product. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in buying a hot tub. Very different than buying from Costco or American Sale, because he is there after the sale to service. Hot tubs need a basic inspection and routine maintenance about every 18 months.

A mixed review. $70k in ground pool and concrete installed in Gurnee. Initial installation was…read moregreat. Pool was put in level and exactly to specifications. Concrete work looks great. Follow-up wasn't great. Pool went in at the end of fall. Workers through a tarp on a left dirt and rocks for the spring. I had to call several times for them to come open it, then they workers complained about how the pool was left. Eventually it got done but a sticky residue was left at the water line. They sent someone out to clean it but he gave up and said it would wear off. They are also some minor scratches I asked about but the office manager ignored my email. Also when using a chalk line to mark out the cover mounting holes in the concrete they used red chalk which is permanent. Blue chalk washes off. Now I have a faint red line around my pool. No one ever explained how to run or operate the system. I had to figure it out myself. Basically, good initial work but no follow-up. Once they get your money they are done.
