I need to recognize a team member named Kimbo. She is such a light. The other staff were friendly as well but Kimbo went above and beyond with customer service. Waited in line for about 10 minutes and asked for no strawberries in my drink. They still put strawberries in it and then tried to scoop them out, but there were still strawberries left in the drink. If I'm paying for something, I expect my order to be made correctly. On top of that, there were only three ice cubes in the drink. Just disappointing read more

This Starbucks has a tendency of getting really busy on the weekends or in the morning / evening in peak hours. The workers here are fantastic. They always get drinks out in a reasonable time. This goes for when they are slammed as well. There will be a lot of cars in the drive through & tons waiting inside but orders still go out in a timely manner. Any time I've ever had an issue with a drink they're quick to resolve the problem. Overall, I think this is a wonderful Starbucks. Only downside is location. But it seems all Starbucks pick horrible spots that aren't big enough when they're in rush hours. If you're looking for a good drink to try the pink drink with vanilla cold foam always taste good. If you're feeling Fiesty try it with some chocolate cold foam. read more

Brown sugar shaken espresso used to be my favorite SB bev -- until they changed *something* in the recipe in 2023 and ruined it. But a barista at this Franklin Street SB came up with a fix, as shown in the attached pic. Great balance of sweet and salty, and the extra shot keeps the coffee flavor intact. read more

Michigan City Starbucks is honestly a hit or miss. Typical Budget: $6-15 I'm not much to complain about the speediness of something unless there is CLEARLY nothing going on. I mean, no cars in the parking lot, looks like online ordering is dead so i won't talk on that. I do enjoy the quality of what I get, sometimes it is poorly made but not enough for me to turn around and say something. The atmosphere is nice and for the most part, the crew is pretty youthful. However, during recent visit, I am hesitant to continuously give my business to this Starbucks. Incident 1. I ordered a Venti Blended Ice Water (first time I did it, the person who took my order was respectful and cool about it.) The second time, the girl at the speaker acted like I asked for something crazy. It is just blended ice water. I have my window down and some of the workers are laughing at the drink like I ordered roaches in my coffee or something silly. (again, just blended ice water) One of the South Asian descent male baristas hands me my drink and jokingly says, "we tried our best", something along those lines. I don't care if you talk about a customer or their order, do it where they can not hear you. It was insulting and no ounce of professionalism. I don't know if it is cause we are around the same or what but I still expect to be treated no differently if I ordered an iced vanilla latte or whatever. Come on. Incident 2. Mistakes happen, still a choking hazard with an espresso bean in the Iced Brown Sugar Oat-milk Shaken Espresso. I'm not giving them a three star rating because of that though, merely mentioning it. Overall, I hope they have a meeting about having mindful conversations while they have the drive thru window open. Ordered an iced coffee because it was a million degrees outside, waited forever (to be expected), and it came up hot. Then an old lady working sniped at me when I politely said "Hi! Im so sorry, this was supposed to be iced." It was so rude that even another customer standing next to me noticed it. Do not recommend, go to the one in new buffalo. I'm a server and perfectly aware of how to treat people in a customer service setting and this was completely unacceptable. read more

The workers are amazing! They create such a nice atmosphere for the customers. This location was just previously renovated, which created an open space for studying and get work done. Starbucks is a chain, of course, but this one they really take the time and effort to make your drinks. read more

I believe in 2nd chances! Twice before I have visited this store for latte. Both times the wait exceeds 10 mins ( with only i person ahead of me) to just place order. One time after waiting I was given wrong order. This morning I decided to try again. At 9ish i was inline , with 1 person ahead of me. After ten minutes of waiting I left to use drive thru. While I was in the store waiting 2 employees were otherwise not engaged. No one bothered to check to see if they can assist or start an order. I place order in drive thru,(5 vehicles ahead of me), left with order. Once I had opportunity at my destination to drink , I realized that I was given wrong order! In each case the order i simple: large latte. There is nothing complicated about this! I am dissatisfied enough to write this review---the quality control (wrong beverage, painfully slow service)---maybe once but not 3 times. My recommendation is try another coffee shop! read more

Long story short - went above and beyond to ensure my wife and I were cared for with a piping hot Dark Roast brewed for us at the end of the day.... Went through the drive thru and order a cafe mocha, when I got on the road I realized they gave me hot milk. I turned around waited in the line again, told them what happened, they said they would make it right. Got to the window and they refused to take the cup of hot milk back, they said because of Covid. They didn't have a problem taking my money - but wouldn't take their mistake back. Finally got my cafe mocha, got back on the road - and much to my joy discovered they gave me hot chocolate. They did a great job in convincing never to go to this Starbucks again. read more

Thank goodness for this location. It was like a beacon of light when I came upon it. Drive-thru and outside seating in Michigan city? No way. A stand alone location which happens to be next door to an awesome staple of the area Schoop's Hamburgers. It wasn't too hard to decide between the two, although it was a hard decision... my treasured Chai tea latte or a hand made burger at Schoop's. With a drive ahead of me, the Chai one. I just like to also point out the difference in tax, a grande chai for $3.91! Yes, it's only a difference of about fifteen cents, but it's fifteen cents! Clean store. Prompt and courteous service. Nice atmosphere for utilizing the Wi-Fi café option. Good vibe as many people were sitting around talking, reading and generally enjoying the atmosphere. I usually don't review Starbucks at all. If you have been in one, you pretty much have been in them all as far as product is concerned. I enjoy Starbucks coffee so the service is what makes the difference. It will make or break them in my opinion. There are MANY Starbucks that I refuse to set foot in again because of the crap ass service and uppity attitudes that I have received. The folks that work here are some of the best and wish I could have them transferred to a Starbucks closer to me. The place was remarkably clean and tidy. I noticed this immediately as I walked into the place. I had two 5-10 minute conversations with people working there and they were both very sincere and friendly and made me feel like I was in their home. Overall, it was the kind of atmosphere that I like in a coffeehouse. Since I don't really expect this kind of treatment, I was pleasantly surprised. read more

Lately, this Starbucks location (like many fast food places) has had incredibly long lines. In spite of this, the service has been absolutely excellent. The staff are efficient, kind, and attentive. Hopped off the highway on the way back to the Chi burbs from New Buffalo, MI. Service was friendly and courteous. The venti iced coffee w/ an extra shot was smooth, and probably one of the best I've had at any Starbucks. The man at the drive thru probably needs to do several shots of espresso, he was the dullest and sleepiest Sbux employee ever. Didn't even tell me the total for the drinks purchased. Pretty location but it was sucky service on the day that I went in. It was obvious that these guys were just putting in time for a paycheck, and not the usual, over-the-top-coffee-loving-barista's that I've come to expect from Starbucks. Just tried my first protein box at this Starbucks. I got the cheese and fruit box and I am absolutely disappointed! The Brie actually tastes like a public restroom! The rest of the cheese was completely flavorless and the crackers just plain bad. I am not impressed! Today was the first day that I've ever got Starbucks and I went through the drive-thru so I can't say it's better than other Starbucks. In the drive thru the lady was really nice and let me look at the menu for a while. And when I told her what I wanted she knew exactly what I was talking about. I don't typically review chain restaurants/stores (unless it was a particularly bad experience) but I feel the need to for this particular Starbucks. I travel between Chicago and Kalamazoo about once a quarter and I always make sure to stop at this location. The service is always far superior compared to my usual locations in Chicago. The one thing I really like is when I have my dog in the car they make sure to always give her a cup of whip cream (puppy latte) and sometimes the barista will even hold it for her. This is a little thing but it definitely makes them stand out as I don't see this at any other location. read more

I have been ignored at the register, had my order "corrected" at the drive-thru, and dismissed at the window. Really? This is Starbucks, and I don't expect to be insulted. During the summer, one of the baristas would always say "hope your day gets better". Probably would have been fine without the visit to this location. Starbucks came to MC after a long drought. Much needed. Stop here if your'e passing through the area - there isn't another Starbucks for about 25 miles. Easy access from I-94 with plenty of parking and a drive-thru! Interior has room for studying/reading the paper, but it isn't somewhere I would hunker down in for too long. Staff is always Starbucks-friendly and continues to provide great service. read more
