Franks is the man! I had catastrophic alternator failure early in the morning. I started calling mechanics at 8:00am to try to get it fixed ASAP. Frank was the first mechanic to get in and answered the phone at 8:20. After looking up the make and model of my car he estimated it would be 1.3 hours worth of labor to replace the alternator (I already knew that the alternator in my car is NOT easily accessible, so 1.3 hours was less time than I was expecting). Almost no mechanic keeps an inventory of parts. They get them from auto parts suppliers in the area such as O'Reilly who stock the parts and deliver them when they are needed. I asked what prices the local auto suppliers were charging him for alternators, and found that I could get a better deal if I picked one up at Autozone. Frank told me that if I wanted to get it at Autozone that he would be happy to install it. This was great news since many other mechanics will not install parts unless you buy the parts from them. When Frank got my car in the garage he went straight to work. He swapped it out in about 1.3 hours. When all was said and done I got my alternator replaced for a shade over $200 (including the cost of the alternator). Frank is awesome! read more

A question related to the only two negative reviews (by the same person): How is a mechanic supposed to fix something he can't see? How did you actually fix your car? Well nuff said. Anyway, this is a great shop, I called around for some maintenance work, Frank wants $40, Mitchell and SDS want $100 and $75. I am going to use Frank's Lakeside Service every time from now on! He also quoted a water pump and hoses and was honest enough to deduct the time that was counted twice in the labor book. At first I balked and said I would do it myself but as I walked away I decided to let him do it and save the headache. He has a great attitude and won't make you feel inferior, even when I claimed I knew how to work on the car myself :) Which I do but it would take about three times as long haha. Frank is the best mechanic in Provo and better than any I've ever been to. The bad reviews I've seen about him look like flukes where people have really old cars that probably have all sorts of problems that can't be diagnosed in one visit. And in every case they're still impressed by his character. I've been going to him for a couple years now and he always fixes my car right the first time. He never nickels and dimes, he never tries to throw in unnecessary repairs, and he's always courteous, friendly, and honest. By far not the norm amongst mechanics. He's just a good hardworking guy that loves what he does and genuinely cares about his customers. Good, honest mechanics like this are hard to come by. I'd recommend Frank's to anybody. read more

These are my go to guys for any car problems. Aaron is a great guy to work with and will always give you a fair price and will try to get it done as quick as possible. My car has had frequent problems since I bought it in 2015 and Aaron always makes sure things get done. I have never worked with a better mechanic. I've recommended them to all of my friends who need repairs done in Provo and they have been great to all of them. As long as I live in Provo (or in Utah for that matter), Lakeside Service and Aaron are my go to for anything I need done to my car. I could not recommend them more. read more

This place is always top-notch. I had been to many mechanics around Utah County prior to visiting here. They are now my go-to mechanic. They are genuinely interested in getting your car functioning correctly for a fair price. Today, I came in with a low coolant light on. They topped me off for free and said to come back if the light comes on. Other shops would have charged me labor, fluid costs, etc but Lakeside Service retained a customer for life by just being friendly! read more

I had a broken break line at 5:45 pm they closed at 6 I called 8-9 other places and this was the only shop that would help me they were able to find the part and fix it in under an hr! les swab said they couldn't order the part I needed or get it for two days! Frank's great. I would highly suggest using him over anyone else. I had my car in the Chevy dealership and they actually refused to fix my car. They told me they couldn't find the problem. I took it into Frank and it was diagnosed and fixed that day. I've been to him several times with different cars. He's always honest and doesn't try to upsell unnecessary things to you. Frank is an honest man- he is really kind and has looked at my car twice for free to help diagnose my car problems. He is not going to try to talk you into buying things you don't need. He told me what was wrong with my car and then said- honestly it would cost more to fix it than the car is worth and it is better to sell it or drive it until it dies. Aaron is an awesome guy to work with. Went out of his way to help me get my truck running properly. His prices and honesty can't be beat. I had a 3 day window to get everything done on this truck almost a thousand dollars in suspension, tune up, alignment, other things it's a 94 Mazda b series and he was able to get it all done excellent service! read more

Did a great job. Prior mechanic stated the A/C system needed a thousand dollars in parts. Lakeside found a leaking valve and replaced it for a small fraction of what the other guys wanted. They even fixed a problem with the driver's seat. All totaled up, the cost was less than a tenth of what the other guys wanted just for the A/C system. read more

Any time that I have had an issue they have been so quick to squeeze me in and get me the help I need. They are super understanding and really honest guys. Never try to overcharge you or upsell you a service you don't need. They do great work, and have above and beyond customer care. They are the only place around that I trust my car too! read more

I just moved to Utah and I needed to get an oil change bad. I looked at a lot of places, but felt they charged too much. My boyfriend recommended Lakeside Service and I was pleasantly surprised by the price. They had great customer service! I will definitely come here again.
