Not much to say about this place other than they need some help. My burger was good but the service was less than stellar. They are remodeling the place so seething is limited. Hire more people and work on the service and this is maybe a 3 or 3.5 star review. read more

The food here was fantastic. I had the Rueben sandwich, and tried 3 more Rueben's on my vacation at different locations, but this one was by far the best. Fish and Chips fish was AMAZING. It's cod. Fries were pretty decent. My family and I all had a different burger, they were good but average. Patio seating is closet for food, which was disappointing because people kept going in wanting to sit on the patio for lunch to look at the lake but the server said they closed it due to staffing issues. But you can drink and smoke out there. All in all, just average diner food that was pretty overpriced. 3 small burgers and fish and chips was $72. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: I ate the philly cheese steak with frys, and the clam chowder. The clam chowder blew me away, and the cheesesteak was pretty good. I would definitely come back again. More in depth analysis: I went on a chilly day durning COVID and the place was quite and lovely. The facility had a nice patio outback which overlooks a lake and would've been ideal had the weather been a little more cooperative. The service was excellent, and they serve beer from pelican brewery! I ordered the philly cheese steak, and my partner ordered the clam chowder. I'll just say, I go to Peddlers in Tillamook every year for their oysters and clam chowder....dare I say it, this clam chowder was actually superior. You could taste the clam! The cheesesteak and fries were pretty good, don't expect authentic philly cheese steak, but I would have it again. For all of the nay-sayers in the reviews, you need to bear in mind this is a family owned restaurant, and you should set your expectations as such. Amazing turnaround, new menu! Had dinner here last night and was surprised that it's under new ownership. The quality of our dinner was significantly better than our last time. This used to be one of our last choices to go for something to eat in Rockaway but now they have improved so much that they are near the top! Best French dip sandwich ever! Every time we come to town we make sure to get there during lunch so we can get our French dip fix! And of course their French fries are delicious as well! One woman is serving, bussing, and bartending all by herself and there are about 22 guests here right now in the restaurant and bar. This is really bad. Unexpectedly Delicious with great service! We are vacationing in Rockaway Beach and were looking for dinner close by. While there are several restaurants in the city, some were closed and others didn't have a soul sitting in them. As we approached, Lakeside Hideaway was well lit and had several cars in the parking lot, so we stopped. The menu offered seafood, burgers, pizza, some salads, and pasta. I opted for the fettuccine Alfredo and my buddies got the chef salad, and clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. To be honest, I was worried that the Alfredo sauce would straight from a jar (thin and runny), but it was deliciously rich and thick. I highly recommend the Alfredo! My buddies loved the clam chowder and, though I don't like seafood, the bread bowl looked delicious. My buddies said that it was the best chowder they have had since arriving in Oregon. read more

Service was on point... Tito's and club soda $6 not bad. Husband ordered the taco salad for $13 it was tiny and smaller than my side salad - had good flavor but not worth $13. I ordered the fried oysters it came with coleslaw and fries for $16.50 - although the oysters appeared to be frozen they were flavorful as well as the tartar sauce. This was a much appreciated find on a coast drive this weekend as a few places we'd researched were actually closed. I've visited this bar for years now and the food isn't the best but the team is usually friendly. Tonight was the worse experience and I should of just left which the server Liz definitely wanted to happen. When I entered the building I was ignored even though it was not busy so I went to the bar. Liz stopped me and yelled at me because I did not wait. I apologize even though I felt like she was being aggressive and rude. She sat me down away from the bar and refused to serve me and made the bartender do it. It made me feel completely awkward because she served everyone except for me. I was waiting for my check and she looked at the bartender and just pointed at me. I get treated terrible because of my skin but I hope that wasn't the reason Liz refused to Serve me. read more

Staying the night in town and not to much open as for food the whole family can and or will eat. The lady that answered the phone both times was unfriendly. Kids liked the pizza, the cup of clam chowder was cold. The side salad and taco salad were both decent. If we are ever in town we know not to get the chowder. It was a waste of money. Lakeside hideaway is a perfect small town beach (dive) bar. Mostly fried food and burgers that are not dripping with grease and that have real flavor. Excellent clam chowder. If you are around on a Friday or Saturday night you have to go for karaoke. Great setup, lots of fun and you don't have to wait too long for your song.
