Do not buy a car from A-Kar Auto Sales, Middletown, NJ. My experience is identical to Beau M.'s…read moreexperience, dated Nov 15, 2024. I bought a 2013 Ram from A-Kar and at first glance all looked well. Charlie gave me a CARFAX report stating it had only Minor Damage. On my 84 mile trip back home I noticed a very wobbly front end and it bounced repeatedly from the smallest bump in the road. Exceeding 60 mph was life threatening. I couldn't help but recall Charlie's statement, "This, vehicle has passed the A-Kar 42 point inspection." The following week I took it to two separate, trusted, independent local repair centers and each had the same report. The front struts on both sides, Sway Bars both sides, Upper Ball Joints {Control Arms} both sides were damaged and must be replaced. Wire was used to hold the gas tank in place and the rear section of the frame was severely rotted and the frame was heavily rusted. Someone tried to cover the rust using Bondo and sprayed it black. The following day I called Charlie at A-Kar with the repair center reports. He was apologetic and told me to bring it back and he would have all the repairs completed. He said he did not personally inspect the truck before it was released and he was sorry for the inconvenience. Because of the danger in driving , I contracted AAA towing to pick the truck up at my home and take it back on that 84 mile to Middletown. At the same time I followed up in my car to speak to Charlie but it was Wednesday, his day off. The following day we spoke and he said the A-Kar service shop had it up on the lift and had started the work. He said I would be able to pick it up in 5 to 7 days. They had the truck seven weeks. I would call weekly to get a progress report. Each time Charlie would say they are making progress. Finally on July 11 Charlie said the truck was ready. Once back home, I took it back to the same repair shops to learn the only thing that was done in the seven weeks they had it was the gas tank strap was replaced. A summary of my experience at A-Kar is this, it's an environment of Lies, Deceit, Fraud and Trickery. I wish I had read the reviews of others before I bought there. Maybe perhaps my experience will help someone else. Run away from this place as fast as you can.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CROOKS! THEY ARE LIARS!…read more I had the massive misfortune of trusting David and Haz at Akar auto with a cross country purchase at a very sensitive time in my life. The first question I asked was ' is there any severe rust or rust issues? To which David said - no not at all. Simply some surface rust.. Turns out - after picking the vehicle up and taking it in for an oil change, the entire bottom of the car was corroded and rusted out. The vehicle needed $5,000 in repairs ASIDE from the rust and on top of that they tacked on a $3,000 warranty never verbalized to me and my payments went from the promised $320 a month to $480 for a vehicle that needs over $5,000 in repairs to get on the road. I have never been screwed over so bad in my life. They have refused to work with me in any fashion. Im sure one of them will pop on here and say "we told you to bring it in the same day". Ya, Not to return it as i tried to do, for their mechanics to look at it again (the same mechanics who passed it). So no i didnt bring it back in. I ended up paying $20,000 for a 2013 nissan frontier that had a check engine light come on in the first 1,000 miles, needed all new tires, needed brakes and rotors (TO A DANGEROUS EXTENT), needed all new suspension, the hood flew up after leaving the dealership, needed everything serviced among other things. DO NOT BUY HERE!!!

Pine Belt Nissan of Keyport - Rich, Ken, Will all say they don't "over promise but don't under deliver" had to all step in for Walter lies.

Linh got me on the schedule which I so appreciated. Asked if I wanted my car washed (it's free)....so yes and thank you. The process was streamlined and so easy after check in I was told to make myself comfortable in the waiting area. Free coffee and water is offered while you sit in the plush leather seats. A short time later a staff member came by with a basket filled with individually wrapped granola bars. Linh came over shortly after to inform me the inspection was done and I was just waiting for car to be washed. Soon after she came back with my paperwork in hand and showed me to the cashier. The car was spotless and I received my invoice which detailed all that was done and a print out of the multi-point inspection breakdown. I couldn't be happier with the service provided to me by Linh and the staff.....this location has excellent customer service. I will most certainly look to connect with Linh anytime I need anything done.

HORRIBLE!!! "BAIT and SWITCH" -- Called about a car that was on Car Gurus to see if car was on…read moretheir lot and available! We were told by Liz the car was there and to come in to talk to Mike. We told Liz we were coming from 45 minutes away and wanted to make sure the car was there and in good condition. She said it was an older car but "home grown" -- meaning: bought at Pine Belt Nissan, and was a one owner car that was being traded in and it was in the shop having a 100 point inspection and cleaned so we may have to wait when we got there. Long story short, after talking to the Salesman Mike Vargas and him giving us the run around and telling us it was a great car and he would bring it out. He tells us it was sold already and wanted to sell us a Hyundai. That's not the car we went for, and then he went and got a manager who said the car we were there for was sold 2 days ago!! When they all had told us the car was just brought in!! The salesman blamed the receptionist Liz and said the car was not marked "sold"! BS! They kept telling us it was in the shop for inspection and cleaning and then it turns out it was sold two days ago!! REALLY???!! Do Not Fall for their BS. Scummy Salesmen!!
