I've been going to Lakeside for over six months now, and it's time for a review! I recommend it completely: the vibe is always relaxed and cheerful, all the employees seem happy to be there, and everything is of the highest quality. And the owner, Trizzie, is a MASTER; I've gotten regular French, ombre French, cats eye.... all with gel builder, and it's always just perfect. This place is very popular, I myself enjoy the work they do. Trizzie keeps the quality high, but I have been helped by Jen multiple times and the last time she complained the whole time doing my pedicure that I broke her back, and I let it go. But I went to get a pedicure and a nail polish for my daughter, she chose 4 colors. She's autistic but regardless she was happy and ready. The Jen started talking to my 7 year old, annoyed, why 4 colors, you need to choose 5 next time. My daughter just was stunned with nothing to say. I was burning how mad I was but I let it go. Once again my daughter trying to make connection which is incredibly hard under already pressure from Jen, my kid said something about Halloween, and the tech snared back correcting her making her feel bad. I just told my daughter to just stay quiet, I wanted her nails done. I hope , Trizzie brings this up to her attention that kindness and respect is for every one of all ages and abilities. It's a kid just nod and smile honestly. For a salon part of the Toluca lake community it doesn't really give a warm welcome and I may be just one irrelevant customer but, it's not acceptable to treat customers in such away. Came here a little over a week ago with my sister in law and mom to get dip polish on our fingernails. All of us already had most of the polish come off. When we have had dip or gel before it's lasted a month, but this time all of us only have a few nails with polish left. Very sad because I normally like coming here. read more

I came here because someone I know recommended it. I would say it's not bad and it's also not great. I got a Manny Petty, which was $50 for both a man did my pedicure and on one of my feet. He didn't even put a base coat at all. It was just a very strange experience. read more

DO NOT BOOK THIS SALON. Especially with Tracy/Trizzie. This was the WORST nail salon I've ever experienced. Tracy/Trizzie (hopefully her real name), was my very rude nail tech. Before sitting down, I showed her a picture of the nails I wanted. I wanted a thin french tip on my natural nails through a gel manicure. Immediately after checking my picture, she stated that my nails were too short. I told her, that's alright, please just paint the design on them anyways. She agreed and got started. I noticed she wasn't dragging the white paint down to my cuticle like the picture showed, so I asked her to please drag the french tip down my cuticle. Then she said, this french tip will be considered a design, BECAUSE I wanted her to drag the french tip down. She stated she would charge me another $5 which I agreed to so she could continue with the french tip (or design?). As she painted, she would take 3-4 minutes breaks to go on her phone in front of me to text people. She did this 4 different times. I sat patiently, unable to do anything with my nail polish wet, waiting for her each time. As she continued with my nails, she proceeded to do it in a very sloppy manner. I had nail polish on my fingers and smudges around my nail. Each time I noticed, I nicely brought it to her attention. In response, she told me the french tip that I wanted was usually completed by painting through a template and airbrush. She was attempting to make an excuse for her sloppiness. I told her that I've been to other nail salons that would complete this style flawlessly without the use of a template or airbrush. Then.. she told me to "Go back to the other salon". I was so taken back by this rude comment that I told her I would. Then she proceeded to call me a DEVIL to her coworkers in Vietnamese, saying that I was messing around trying to have her to do a crazy french tip style from my phone. This was my last straw. I let her complete the design, then paid for her work. Then, I told her I would not tip her for how rude she was to me and how uncomfortable she made me feel! I am half white and half vietnamese (I do not look vietnamese) so I understood every derogatory thing she said about me to her coworker. Then, she had the nerve to tell me not to ever come back. Regardless of her frustrations with me, she should NOT have treated me that way. It was completely UNPROFESSIONAL, SLOPPY, and RUDE! I will definitely NOT be returning (bet she's happy!). I've gotten my nails done here many times and the woman at reception is kinda loud and "judgy". Last time i was there, she did my nails while her coworker did my pedi. She kinda acted as if i were an inanimate object and talked over me to her co-worker the entire time. Another co-worker came over and actually placed some papers on top of the pillow that was in my lap! I waved her hand holding the papers away from me but then they all started grilling me (which felt like a verbal attack) about a small cut on my ankle that i had gotten right before walking in. There was no sympathy or concern for me, more of a hostile accusation. I did not appreciate the unwelcoming vibe at all. And the Mani Pedi wasn't the best either. I do not recommend this salon. In response to Tizzie, Im not sure of the exact date, but this happened a little over a month ago, right before I left for a business trip. Second time here and I must say, they're really nice and very professional! Love the welcoming vibe and they do an excellent job on the nail service you request! Yen did my nails twice here (dip nails) and I'm definitely coming back for more nail dips with her! She does an amazing job and is very nice! They have massage chairs too if you're going to get spa treatment for pedis (that's a plus for me!). I have been a client here the last few months and my experience has been great. I just started getting gel x, the first set didn't work however I was warned by staff that it might not work on my nails. I wanted to try it anyway, The first week my nails started lifting, I called and Trizzie said come in I will fix them. I was not even charged for a full hand. Most nail salons charge you for every broken nail. Now my gel x have been lasting almost 5 weeks, just switching to a different glue. Honestly it depends on your nails, everyone is different. I live in the neighborhood and just popped in for the first time for a quick pedicure and I felt like the woman who did my pedicure was rushing and the gel wasn't curing right- so I have a weird fog on some of my toe nails not super shiny. Then the next day I noticed a in grown toe nail forming because she cut my nails bad. Super annoyed but they were nice people just not a great salon. definitely pay the extra to go to the nicer ones. read more

Rushed job and so rude. The application is extremely amateur. I had to ask the technician for multiple revisions because it was so bad. They took turns playing musical chairs to fix how terrible it was. The one lady who takes the appts is extremely moody and will be nice one minute and rude the next. It is quite shocking and really not ok. There are no amount of excuses that can constitute for poor behavior. I'm also foreign, it's not a language barrier or a misunderstanding. I want to first say that if you want your eyebrows snatched, this is the place! Seriously my sister and I come here and we never fail to leave with our eyebrows looking great. I am updating my review...I came back after the pandemic looking forward to familiar experience, but it is isappointing that the place is turning into a conveyer, where the goal is to push you out asap and take the next client. It didn't used to be like this, I genuinely enjoyed coming here because the techs really took their time...they did mani/pedi under 25 minutes. They charged 10$ extra because I picked organic nail polish for hands and feet...which is the cost of entire bottle of polish from one client - wrong. This place is the best I've ever been to!!! I get my nails done with multiple people, but my favorite is Tracy/Trizzie! Tracy/Trizzie is very funny and friendly. She does the best nail design for me. I like intricate nails at one time and simple the next and she kills it every time! I love how they are willing to stay late to do for me. I had an event to go to and was running late and I called them to apologize to them. They were very understanding and waited for me and did my nails without rushing even after their closing time. I don't think I will go back to this nail salon :( 1st time I visited was okay, did the dipping powder with pedicure. Nails started coming off like around 10days... couldn't go in to have them fix due to traveling. so I called them on the 14th day as I read they have 14day warranty or something. The lady I believe the owner? Was nice told Me since it's my 14th day, she can't do anything but will give 10%discount. So I decided to give it one more shot and went in. The lady, I believe the owner or manager did my nails but was not very nice. I don't know if it was due to discount but don't offer me discount if u are not going to be nice. So here is the worst part i told her one of my nails has a mess up and my other nail is too thick, she got all annoyed and used the nail file machine to scrape off the polish but she scrape/files off so hard and I thought my nail was going to BURN OFF! I flinched cuz the nails were burning and hurting. So rude! Repaints and doesn't even file it down. Was already annoyed and my nails are coming off again and it hasn't even been two weeks :( wasted money. Don't do dipping powder here it won't last! read more

(had one of those ridiculous "emergencies" that are SO not an emergency ... but you HAVE to get it fixed ;) Kind, skilled and speedy ... Alan had 2 new nails done in no time. Honestly, was not happy with my service. All I asked for when I made the appointment was SNS and SNS removal. When I came into the spa for my appointment I once again stated I just needed removal and new SNS but that I did NOT want a manicure. I did think there might have been some confusion when the nail tech started cutting my cuticles but wasn't sure since it was my first time at this spa. I ended up paying for it anyways because the service was already over when she told me what I owed but I was highly upset that I had said multiple times no manicure and yet received one anyways.
