I have lived in Clifton for 22 years, I usually go to Plaza bagels, but we had just flown in on a redeye from California and were hungry so I used DoorDash to deliver Lakeview bagels. We both ordered scrambled egg and cheese on a plain bagel, I also ordered an everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese. The food was delivered in about 15 minutes, I live close to Lakeview Avenue. The bagels were some of the best I've ever had in New Jersey, which is saying a lot! The bagels were soft and fresh. The egg and cheese cooked and melted perfectly and the cream cheese was incredibly fresh and smooth. I truly believe I will be back often and I found my new favorite bagel place in Clifton! I love this spot but this morning I woke up craving it , went in and got a hard bagle and cold eggs cold cheese , I ordered 2 minutes later it was ready. I opened it in the car realized it was cold and was missing the salt pepper ketchup. Still took a bite and bread was hard as a rock I went back in explained and he said he will remake so he handed me back the same bagel with the same insides as the first one plus , there was still the bite mark on the top of my bagel so no it wasn't a new one. I love coming here since I live fairly close. The staff are all super kind and welcoming. My family has been eating here a few times a month for at least the past four years. It's definitely better to order as early as you can, as the day goes on and they get busier the food quality does slightly decrease. We usually order no later than 9 am for the best food. Also, their prices in store are much cheaper than online, I don't recommend door dashing or ordering online. We drive right on in, order, and are out within 10-15 minutes. They are quick, kind, and have great food. Their menu is large and they have never told us they ran out of something we wanted to order. Awesome local bagel place! I love how full and fluffy their bagels are. There are lots of places that will just phone it in, but I love their bagels here. I come here frequently to pickup a late breakfast on the weekends and it can get fairly busy. You order at the second counter and then pay at at the first. Usually come here for a bagel because it's close to my work. Decided to try a sandwich for lunch today and I'm sorry I did. I got turkey on a hard roll, the turkey tasted funny, it definitely had gone bad. I had to get back to work so didn't have time to go back and say anything. I ordered an oatmeal with brown sugar with walnuts raisins and banana. The oatmeal was bland so no brown sugar was added, they replaced the walnuts with sliced almonds, and no raisins. I've been coming to Lakeview bagel for years I love this place, the fries are so good (I like mine soggy so if you like crunchy maybe these fries aren't for you) the bagels are amazing and they have the most delicious combos and a bunch of breakfast choices as well. From hotdogs, burgers, to a bunch of Variety of sides and choices to put on sandwiches, the options are numerous! They're a cute little kind of deli place with drinks and chips as well, the staff is normally friendly some have heavy accents which is cool but the guy and girl there whose been there for Years are awesome, I love the food they make. I will never go back to this place! First they tried to over charge me for something I didn't get. The manager was very rude when I asked why they over charged me and he said it's a $1 service fee for using your card, he taxed the service fee and he said that's what the computer says, then he proceeded to be rude and said do you want the good or not, I'll take the food back, then he proceeded to keep saying it being loud. I do believe you are not aloud to tax a service fee !!?? This is what makes our world an ugly place. This morning my order was incorrect by Destinee E. I called to explain that I didn't request a bagel with plain cream cheese. The owner was not cooperative by apologizing and providing a replacement free of charge. When I arrived at the Deli, and explained what happen to the young man at the register he said I had to pay $1.50 for the difference. The place is really disorganized, there's like 10 ppl taking orders at same time and messing up still. It's like that game of telephone. I've been coming to this deli for years on end whenever I'm in this area of Clifton (+ delivery a few times), and usually 90% of the time, my experiences have been pleasurable: from the first time I've ordered a cream cheese sesame seed bagel + cookies & cream shake almost 2 years ago, to current day salads and bai/other healthy juices today (even the occasional fresh made smoothie), I'm glad to come here for breakfast and lunch most days! Lakeview Bagels & Deli is located at the shopping center at the southern edge of Lakeview Ave (Lakeview Shopping Center), and relatively easy to get to from: downtown Clifton, Rts 20/21, and other parts. Inside, it's a bit "cramped" since more than half of the visible part of the shop is dedicated to preparing + housing food, and the dining area inside is relegated to stools and windowsills at the entrance. In terms of menu, there's bagels: over 15 varieties, classics like plain and cinnamon raisin, to special ones like a bialy and rainbow, some of them sell out as the day goes by unfortunately. Next, there's spreads, such as butter, jelly, or peanut butter, and 10 different varieties of cream cheese from regular to "sweet" strawberry/Oreo/sprinkle. Next are traditional/regular breakfast items like breakfast burritos (egg, meat, and whatever you'd like), breakfast sandwiches such as egg/meat (sausages/bacon/pastrami/ham/Taylor Ham/Turkey) or omelette sandwiches, breakfast platters such as omelettes, French toast or 3 pancakes (both come with a style of eggs, and either one: 2 bacon strips, Taylor ham or sausage links, plus home fries/French fries/tater tots (extra $). Next would be salads, coming with a variety of toppings and dressings. Next would be a list of delicious deli fresh sandwiches with different meats or cheeses, same with paninis and wraps as well as club sandwiches (piled high with meats and cheeses). After that would be sandwiches made from the grill, mostly burgers/quesadillas or sandwiches, as well as Mediterranean items such as falafel (wrap or pita) and gyros. At the end, there's extra side dishes like pizza bagels, fries, mozzarella sticks, and plenty of pastries (donuts, apple turnovers, muffins, crumb cake) to follow suit, as well as smoothies/shakes and drinks hot and cold. Prices are modest for the most part, all bagels aside from Bialy and rainbow are 1$, sandwiches being between 4-7$, smoothies are 4-6$. You can "deluxe" your items to add French fries or cole slaw/potato salad for 2$, mostly works for sandwiches/burgers/wraps. Normally the average I've spent here for one meal was 10$ (food + side dish + drink). Friendly staff here, and George the owner is a good guy reasonable to talk with. Almost never had a dispute here, but I'm thrilled to come back almost every time. Usually gets busy around AM breakfast hours and early lunch, but crowds usually stabilize as business closes. Sorry excuse for a bagel place. Bagels are always burnt and there was mold on the crumb cake. Mold! I was really contemplating going back and showing them but then I thought to myself, "what good would that do" I think a real review of how they Really treat people would possibly lead some away from such a horrible business. It's a shame a business can get away with such neglect. Do your self a favor and go next door to Aldi, buy some groceries and cook your own breakfast.
