This place is definitely a go to breakfast place. We went in there and got a delicious egg sausage croissant sandwich so good they were super fast. Everybody was going in. They had a line. It was definitely worth it if you need a little breakfast sandwich that's the place to go in New Jersey.. the ambience is definitely just like a deli you could sit down. Ever receive one of those random Yelp notifications giving you a head's up about a local place to try? Well Barry's popped up and I was like, "Okay, Yelp. I'll call your bluff on this bagel joint!" A stone's throw from the Home Depot (don't even get me started with how awful this part of town is... from the roundabout to the oddly-cut and designed streets - what a headache!) - when I walked into Barry's (right when they opened) I was blinded by the lights and immediately impressed that their bins are fully-stocked (don't even get me started on bagel places that open early but don't even have anything really available!). Besides the 'classics' (everything, egg, whole wheat) they also have a few oddball options (like rainbow and a strange-looking jalapeno one) that you almost never see by me. After two visits (two years apart, no less) I can say their bagels are solid - seasonings, crackling crust, airy on the inside, you know. The coffee won't win any awards but it's hot with a dollop of flavor and bitterness to wake you up. Staff behind the counter are cool. Pricing is good. Store is really clean and well-maintained. Their parking lot (at least in the rear) looks like it could cause grief later in the morning when it starts to get busy. It's a bit out of the way for me but I'm happy Yelp lured me here to try something different. read more

Cant believe I've never been here, what a great find in the middle of running around like crazy doing errands on a Saturday morning! The goods: I ordered 1/2 a dozen different bagels, a side of walnut raisin cream cheese, and a Taylor ham egg and cheese (THEC) on a lightly buttered & toasted roll. The bagels came out fresh and still warm, huge bagels that are nice and airy while not being too dense - honestly some of the best bagels I've had in the area! The THEC was well done - I like my Taylor ham cooked well and crispy, and proportioned well. And the walnut raisin CC was fresh, so no complaints there either. The staff was great here. Even though they were packed, they were quick, able to crank out the orders quickly and efficiently. There was a line about 5 deep before me when I walked in and I had only 15 minutes to get my food and pick up my daughter, really didn't think I'd make it so I ask and they assured me they get me what I need and out in time. I was early picking her up, still don't know how they did it, lol. The location itself is on an odd 5 way intersection near Home Depot, pay attention to the lines on the ground here, seen way too many cars go down the wrong direction and get into an accident here. I am done with Barry's Bagels. Yesterday I stopped in and tried to order for two sandwiches to go. Almost no one behind the counter could understand the most rudimentary English. They got both sandwiches wrong, which I did not discover until I got to my destination. While there, the contractors just park their trucks wherever they please blocking in other customers who need to get to work. It was a total sh*t show to say the least. That is the last time for me. Been searching for a good bagel spot and was lucky to run into Barry's a few weeks ago. Now I'm hooked! Their bagels and sandwiches are delicious. Their ingredients are fresh, place is clean, and the staff is always so nice. They are also one of the only locations to serve so many drink options. From Mexican Jarritos to Aloe Vera drinks. I go here for quite often now, and to be honest the food good but the bakery could be a hit or miss. As for pricing, I think it's fairly fair, but it is on the pricier stuff. However, the reason why I gave it a three stars is because today, I found something while chewing on my sandwich and I wanted to throw up because of it. Popular bagel place for Clifton locals and I can see why. Love the text to order service. Have used it at least 10 times and my order is spot on each time and ready for pick up. Very convenient. Nice and fresh bagels and a big selection if you want something else than a bagel. Sandwiches are a nice portion and you get a side of mac or potato salad. Of course the taylor ham egg and cheese on an everything is a Jersey staple and Barrys delivers. Right amount of taylor ham, not too greasy and the everything bagel is spot on. OK I think its time to unravel my thoughts about this bagel stop. I have been here quite a few times for both lunch and breakfast sandwiches. Never wanted to comment before because I have had my reservations not about the food but the worker who handles the grill. So I will say without a single doubt that I have NEVER been disappointed about the food they produce. They are equipped with today's latest technology. About 4 huge screen TVs displayed over the order counter with everything they offer. Pretty cool I will say and they even have a number to text (973-216-1545) your food ahead so that you can save time upon visiting their establishment against a wait behind other customers. Or simply because all you can think of is getting that food in your mouth that much quicker. Now where my reservations come into play. It seems the guy behind the good food just doesn't seem to find it in his soul to ever smile..never says thank you for visiting his establishment, after all we are supporting our locals stores. He has even placed my food on the counter without packing it up in a bag even after saying it was to go and simply walked away without anything else to say, no eye contact almost as if please hurry up and leave. Now maybe its me, after all I am a pretty big guy and he might not like my demeanor which by the way "I SMILE" and say Thank You when served so If I had to bet I would say he's simply this way all the time. Hopefully one day he will realize how important its is to show a tad of appreciation for the patrons that put money in his pocket daily with a smile and maybe some thank you. Barry's Bagels is a great spot to grab a quality New Jersey Bagel! I have been coming here for a few years now, and they have consistently supplied great food to me and my friends throughout. Through the years Barry's bagels has upgraded their interior, ensuring that customers see that their business is being put to use. The grill is in plain view, allowing you to watch as your delicious food is prepared! The work area is always visibly clean, which is highly appreciated. Whenever I am in there waiting for my order (which isn't a long time, even during the lunch rush) I see the staff not only preparing food, but cleaning the facility. Beyond that the staff that has been present over the years have always been kind, and welcoming. Walked in, ordered 2 sandwiches on everything bagels plus a half dozen more. They they showed me they only had three left in the basket. No problem. Adjusted my order to have the two sandwiches with the everything bagels plus another bagel and 5 more assorted to make a half dozen. 5 mins later they inform me I could only have one because there was a text order that came in. I was not happy. I just told them alright cancel everything and refund my order. At that point I just wanted to leave. Owner/manager (without even apologizing) tried half-heartedly to "make it right" because apparently there was a "text order". I'm not the kind of person that accepts things I don't pay for, so I had no interest in getting anything for free. I just wanted the 3 bagels that were in the basket when I ordered and they removed for me or I just wanted to leave. He was just upsetting me more by acting like I was the one that caused the problem. Manager wanted me to wait until the next batch was done. Why couldn't the text order wait? Probably because he's prioritizing doordash orders instead of people actually in the store. Oh and at the end he outright was lying to me. "What do you want me to do, there's already egg on them?" Uhh yeah, they could easily have gone to me. Don't know how that's relevant. Not to mention he got into my face screaming while saying that (came out from behind the counter trying to be intimidating) Will never go back if they treat their customers like this. The first thing that jumped out to me upon entering Barry's Bagels is fantastic customer service. We were greeted immediately as if we've been going there for years. I was really pleased with the unique selection of specialty bagel sandwiches. They each had a creative name to go along the sandwich, like the Larry Bird. I ended up getting a whole wheat bagel with grilled chicken, provolone cheese, and egg whites. My girlfriend got a sesame seed bagel with vegetable cream cheese. The bagels were delicious. They had a crisp outer shell with a fluffy and chewy inside. Also, the vegetable cream cheese had freshly chopped vegetables in it. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at Barry's. Great little bagel shop! It's on the corner of market street so it's a little confusing to find but they have their own parking lot which was great! They have the basic bagel selections that most bagel shops have and same with the cream cheeses. I got my usual, a sundried tomato bagel but with scallion cream cheese instead of olive and toasted of course. The scallion cream cheese was perfect and didn't overpower the flavor of the sundried tomato. I think I found my new fave combo. The bagel was soft and easy to chew. They put the perfect amount of cream cheese and didn't load it on like other places do. I liked how the guy asked us if we wanted more cream cheese. My friend got an everything bagel with olive cream cheese and he put on more as per her request. The olive cream cheese was delicious as well! They get 5 stars for great bagels and great service. My boyfriend moved into the area not too long ago and this has easily become one of our regular breakfast spots. Good selection of bagels, my favorites are probably the french toast bagel (have only eaten this plain, but it's on my future order list to have this as a breakfast sandwich) and to get a garlic bagel with egg, sausage, and cheese. They have some pretty decent iced coffee here, and I always make sure to grab at least 1 red velvet cookie when I'm in here. They have a sign for text to order, but in my experience they don't seem to really check that regularly and people have come in saying they've texted in and there doesn't seem to be an order ready for them. Instead I would suggest to call the number listed and place your order over the phone instead. read more

Barry's is the best breakfast place in the area. Their breakfast sandwiches are fantastic, and they don't skimp on the meat! Their bagels are big and fluffy and very delicious. Their french toast bagels are unlike any I've ever had before, perfect flavor and crispy crust, with a delicious maple glaze with some powdered sugar. Perfect sour/sweet combination with cream cheese, or delicious and dessert-like toasted with butter. Lunch sandwiches are good too, no complaints there. ATM on location, tons of drink choices, and you can text your order in in advance and skip the lines that can get pretty long. The only downside to Barry's is the service can get pretty slow, and it seems as if they are understaffed sometimes during peak breakfast and lunch hours. However, most of the time I'll bear the wait because the food is so good. Also maybe a shade higher priced than other bagel spots in town, but again, you're paying for quality. read more
