Tried this new to us spot in Martinsville this morning on a rec from my daughter who had stopped in last weekend. Cute and welcoming and spotlessly clean. We were seated right away and all the staff from start to finish were friendly and responsive. I ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes, my husband the French toast and a side of bacon. We chose to share a cinnamon roll. The pancakes were two, very large (bigger than the plate!) pancakes with whole berries in them, topped with a large scoop of fresh, thick whipped cream, topped with more blueberries. Served with a side of maple syrup. Absolutely delicious! I could taste the lemony flavor with the first bite. Not overwhelming, but nicely flavored. 10/10 would order again. My husband's French toast was outstanding- also accompanied by a large scoop of the whipped cream, fresh mixed berries and maple syrup. He doesn't normally order French toast, but he loved this dish here. The side of bacon was a delightful surprise - it was crisp and slightly candied and utterly delicious. 10/10 would order again. The only disappointment was the cinnamon roll. It was served cold, a bit tough (maybe the dough was over-worked?), a little dry and not as cinnamony-sugary-buttery as one would expect. The cream cheese icing was lovely, but not enough to make this roll a winner. Overall a great experience though and we will be back! read more

This place is so adorable and quaint. We stopped in for breakfast and I enjoyed the avocado toast with a side of eggs...note that a side has 3 eggs, can't order just one. Thick slices of perfectly golden toast, dusted with powdered sugar, served with a generous scoop of homemade whipped cream (not the canned stuff!) and fresh berries that added the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The presentation was beautiful, almost too pretty to eat--but I powered through for the sake of research (you're welcome). The staff was friendly, the vibe was cozy and welcoming, and the food came out quick but tasted like someone's grandma had been working on it since dawn. This is the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and savor the morning. 1000/10 do not recommend . I came to this restaurant one of my last visits home when they first opened. I wasn't thrilled with the meal then but it was decent. The workers there really try to work and attend to everyone quickly so it seemed . Idk if it was a shortage of staff or the place was too packed. The restraints r is really spacious but only tables in the middle of it . My mom & I came in & was seated quickly. We were asked what we wanted to drink before we even sat down. I found that rather weird. The menu was rather big. We both got a sandwich . Our bread was sooooo hard & i don't think it was really sourdough bread. It took so long for me to get my root beer and most definitely our food. The waitress was nice but I highly doubt I go back. read more

A friendly, lovely place owned and staffed by friendly, lovely people. This is my go-to breakfast place. The portions are huge...I had bacon (They serve their own version, its meaty and ever so very slightly sweet) with was served with three eggs over, which were cooked nicely (You can mix and matched the egg portions. One two or three eggs, to your liking) It came with an enormous side of home fries which were done just the way I like them, cooked well and served crispy. To my amazement, the order also came with a side of French toast....The food was served quickly, the freckled face waitress was adorable, on the ball and professional. For lunch I had the burger...it was good, let me tell you, really food, the portion was ample and the quality was very good. What I most appreciate about this place, aside from the positivity, is the presentation....its well done and yes, it does matter. You absolutely have to try this place, its well worth it. read more

Truly a horrible experience. It took them about ten minutes just to sit us. After having been sat, no one came to the table. We waiting for half an hour and no one acknowledged us. The table next to us was never cleaned the entire time that we waited. Overall, the restaurant is disorganized and the staff was unhelpful, would not recommend. read more

Great atmosphere and super service! Karen is the best. Love having this new restaurant in downtown Martinsville. Beignets are the best item here!! Worth a trip just for them. The buffalo chicken grilled cheese was terrific as well - French fries are also very good. But the sweet potato fries were disappointing - unripe potato obviously. And the chicken on the goat your own way salad was very dry and overcooked. Nevertheless, this is a great place and we'll be back ... for the beignets!! read more

When we arrived, the servers were hustling. There was a 20 minute wait because they were very busy. The menu was appropriately long; enough choices so there was something for ever but not overwhelming. I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and my wife ordered the BBQ Grilled Cheese. They were both fantastic! It was a little bit of a wait, but very worth it! All of the food is made fresh from scratch. That will take a little longer than just microwaving something. Our server proudly let us know that even their ranch dressing is made in house! The portion sizes were perfect and our server checked in on us and refilled our drinks regularly. Pretty mid. Food was ok. When for breakfast and it was meh. Tried their cinnamon rolls, which had bacon on top, not sure why they did that. The roll was also super dry. Had to chase my server for the bill and the rest of the staff stated the same. But they got a parking lot so I guess that's a plus read more

Nice bright open atmosphere. I loved the potato fries that were topped with maple syrup and brown sugar. The Rachel sandwich was huge and very good. Pretty disappointed... 2nd time dining here on Saturday the 7th. My mom and I arrived around 2 pm. Long story short, the servers/waitresses, didn't seem to want to wait on us. Like they were irritated to have to do anything for us. They brought my food but didn't bring the strawberry jelly I'd asked for when I placed my order, so I asked for that. She seemed to be annoyed that I asked. The plate of food was very crowded so I asked for another small plate. Eyes rolled as they went to get that. Then they served me very hard, nearly burnt toast. Idk why they even brought it out to me. I asked for a redo. Took forever to bring new toast. When she arrived at the table, a slice fell off onto the table, no apology or anything. There already isn't many places to get a late brunch on weekends in Martinsville, so I was happy to know this establishment is there. This new restaurant in the town of Martinsville has great potential. We had lunch there and it was mostly okay. My friend had the cinnamon roll, I had the maple bacon fries, and we split a GOAT salad. The cinnamon roll looked very good, and my friend said it was scrumptious. I want to try that next time. My maple bacon fries were a disappointment. The waitress said they were sweet potato fries with maple bacon topping. When they arrived they were NOT fries, they were just large chunks of sweet potato. That was a bummer. But then I began to look for the bacon and for the life of me I could not find it. I soon realized there was no bacon. I felt extremely disappointed, and cannot recommend the bacon topped fries, which in reality are large chunks of sweet potato with a light glaze and NO bacon anywhere. That is the reason my rating is 3 stars. The GOAT salad was very good, with fresh raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries mixed with arugula, goat cheese, and grilled chicken. There was a nice raspberry vinaigrette on everything, not overly heavy, which is good. I very muched liked it and my friend agreed. The only thing I'd change was the size, the salad was not overly large. All in all, the place was fun, if a bit strangely situated in a too-large space. I will probably return. read more
