CLOSED ON EVERYONE'S PAYDAY. if you were late and get paid on Friday, you will have no power all weekend! Great for kids, pets and winter :) ... not. The app also seems decades old. Like everyone else says, they shut off power without warning. So, although I have the money in my account, I cannot pay to have my lights back on, and have to freeze all weekend with no power. LLP makes the former owner/tenant pay at least 7 days of the new owner/tenant's bill if not more. This is a courtesy to the new person so they don't have to pay a connection fee. There is something wrong when someone with no interest in the property covers utilities for another person because of the utility's policy. If they want them to not have a connection fee then they should credit their account. read more

Shuts folks power of without so much as calling or leaving a notice on the door, if you miss the bill in the mail, you're screwed. If they have a problem with a payment, they don't call, they just shut it off. Many times they shut off power on a Thursday, even though they are CLOSED Fri-Sat-Sun. Customer service reps are rude. And, they raise the per kilowatt rate in the winter for no particular purpose other than people tend to use more in the winter, so it ups their profits. If you can try to get any other power company other than this one. Their rates are outrageous, they only care about making a buck and don't seem to care when others can't keep up. I mean how does one always have a $100.00 electricity bill? I don't even use my heat! They will turn off your power for an overdue bill of $65.00. After searching every line of every section of their webpage (service maps were clearly and easily found on EVERY other utility I looked at), trying each and every single option offered by their automated system, including the controller, without a single person answering the phone, I have decided against purchasing this property. Iam new to Lakewood Light and Power. The bill seems extremely high almost illegal high. I would like to know if anyone else questions the KWH usage on their bill? I live by myself gone from 4am. to 6pm. mon-fri using no power. My bill is always $179-$200 every single month. I always pay on time to avoid late fees or shut off. Something does not seem right. This is the single worst company I have ever been forced to patronize. They shut your power off without ANY notice, are only open 4 days during the week, and of those days only open while 85% of the population is at work themselves. I had taken to overpaying my bills by a month as I have twice not received a bill and once had a payment sent a week before due date not get processed in time, until they stopped crediting me for the full amount I overpaid. I suspect their board of directors all have horns, but good luck reaching any of them anyway. Their business practices are either completely inept or downright criminal, and their customer service is rude and completely apathetic. I'm blown away by the apparent complete lack of oversight or regulation of this private company providing a critical and necessary utility. Aside from the frequent rate increases, I just got a notice that in addition to the quarterly rate hike, they're increasing the basic residential charge from $6.50 to $18.50, and the basic commercial charge from $6.50 to $45.00 !!!!! Since both of these increases apply to me, I am beside myself. Absolutely ridiculous. The fact that they felt it necessary to separate themselves from their customers with bulletproof glass says more about the company than I can here. read more

Shit ass company. I called them on a Monday and told them I get paid Friday and I will call and pay it then, they told me they are closed Fridays and they did a pay arrangement with me to pay Monday at 10am because 10 am was my first break at work. I get a call Monday at 9 am from my husband saying the power is off. So I called and they said they turned it off due to payment and when I tried to explain to them that I made a pay arrangement that said it wasn't in my notes. So I just paid the bill. And then I get an $85 charge for turning it back on. I call again to get the charge off because I made a pay arrangement and it was off for less than my minutes. And the lady told me no and that I should of called earlier and that it wasn't her problem they forgot to ass notes to my account about the pay arrangement and that they don't erase fees. Lakeview Light & Power has the worst customer service attitude that I have ever run into. I tried to make a complaint to the manager and she bald face lied to me. They are definitely not concerned with what their customers think of them. Always have them put any communication in writing. Dirty business. There policies are harsh and rude. They charge a $20 late fee three days after the bill due date. I tried to communicate with their board of directors and found they are unreachable, their emails are no good. Strange huh. This company takes extortion to a new high. They actually hold mailed, customer payments and do not process them until after the due date. That way they can charge a $20.00 late fee. Then when the customer complains, they inform you that they don't turn power off for any late balance under $50.00. However they may choose to charge you another $20.00 on the next bill, because you have a "late balance". Never mind that the late balance is the late fee you disputed in the first place. Thought there were laws about usury. read more

They're a bunch of crooks. I tried to set up payment online and then I found out that wasn't an option. So of course the payment didn't go through because I didn't have funds in my account. Okay. That was my fault. No biggy. And I accept their $42 returned check fee and they added that to my balance. However, a week later, there was another charge from them for another $40 which was an ACH debit charge. They claimed it was not from them and that it was a charge that was charged by my bank. I contacted my bank and they said it was not from them and that ACH debits requires my bank account information and authorization to be charged. I didn't authorize the transaction. So not only did Lakeview Light & Power take $40 from me and claimed they didn't, they charged me another $42. I paid everything but $40 that they took from my account. So they charged me a $20 late fee. So now I have to pay not just this next bill, but the $40 they already took (because I had already paid my previous bill in addition to the $2 because they already took $2), I have to pay a $20 late fee which wasn't even late because I paid the actual bill before the due date. read more
