This old school, family owned restaurant is very much a neighborhood classic that has stood the test of time. The thin crust is the perfect base for the amazingly tangy Italian sauce. The toppings are generously portioned, and the pizza (available in 12" & 14") is cut into squares, which make it all too easy to eat more! We started with the fried mushrooms and eggplant, which were very generously sized. Our table of four barely made a dent. The breading on both was great, trapping in the heat, flavors and firmness of the veggies. The eggplant especially, which in my experience can be mushy, was excellent. I loved how it was served with lemon wedges. The tartness of the lemon mixed with the zest of the marinara sauce made the eggplant something I could have eaten just by itself. The restaurant has a bar area first, then a dining room adjacent. The tables here are packed in pretty tight. We ended up at a corner table, and could bump elbows with the people sitting next to us. Every time I go, I always think, "They come to take orders or simply check on us the perfect amount"--I know they want to ensure I've got everything I need but they don't feel overbearing (this is regarding servers or the bartender). Finally, I order the same thing each time: garden salad with house Italian dressing and the special pizza (sausage, mushroom, onion). Salad is crisp and the pizza is consistent--the best.

Each one was unique, so flavorful & freshly prepared. Excellent! The service was top notch. I had called earlier to see if they did anything for birthdays. The reply was yes. When arriving the host asked if we were celebrating any special event, confirming my call. Through the entire meal service was attentive without being obtrusive. When our plates were cleaned (with leftovers for each of us) the server brought out plates for both birthday friends. The plates had 3 churros, a small dish of warm chocolate sauce, were decorated with Happy Birthday & a candle. All with finesse. An overall great meal and great experience. Definitely worth visiting & I will be returning.

I wanted to taste and feel a little more eggplant, but they were chips and followed through with the assignment! The piccante pasta is one of my favorites, and not just because chicken is included vs. an add on. The shape of the pasta is super fun and holds the sauce perfectly. The sauce is phenomenal, I normally ask for all the salt, Parmesan, red pepper, etc. up front because I'm so used to things being under-seasoned but not with this dish! It had the perfect amount of salt and spice in addition to the pasta having the ideal al dente cook to it. I highly recommend and cannot wait to go back for more!

Not sure what all the rave is about? We ordered a pizza that was $28 for a large 3 topping. It was delivered very fast,that was great. However, when we opened it up all the toppings and cheese had slid off. As if they had thrown it in there when it was too hot. That wouldn't have been a huge issue if the pizza was as delicious as I've heard....but it was nearly "just okay". It wasn't flavorful and the crust was thick and hard? Kind of hard to describe. I have been a long time customer of Lalli's for years! Great pizza but not worth the hassle and poor service! Delivery takes over an hour almost every time, the dispatch people are extremely rude and lack any understanding of customer service and they act like they are doing you a favor to take your order. The crust was thin, it wasn't overly greasy and I did really, really enjoy the marinara. I'd recommend Pietro's Pizza if you're staying in Bay View in Milwaukee!

Here's a run down of my time at Hup's 1. Atmosphere The space is old school and straightforward. The parking lot is small, and the lobby is even smaller. About two people can wait comfortably at a time. Anything over two and they've become your boyfriend! There are no chairs, and orders are passed through a small opening at the bottom of a glass protected order window. No dinning in. You get your food and GO! 2. Pricing Prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Simple menu cost of pizza sizes, additional toppings, garlic bread, and cheese bread. The toppings are typical too. Nothing exotic or fancy, meat, veggies, and cheese. Oh and it's cash only. Make sure to know your total before you arrive so you're prepared. 3. Food I can't even lie, the pizza is everything people said it would be. Thin, crispy crust with good amount of toppings, cheese, and sauce. Their garlic and cheese bread are straightforward too. An Italian loaf, loaded with melted butter, and sprinkled with garlic salt and if you ordered cheese they give you a generous amount of mozzarella cheese . Just like the pizza it's simple and delicious. 4. Service I called in my order, and they said it would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrived five minutes later than that, and our pizza was waiting. The same gentleman who took my order handled checkout. He was friendly and efficient. No complaints at all. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION: I will absolutely be back. Hup's has now become what Pizza Man was to my parents...a Friday night staple when we don't feel like cooking or dinning in somewhere. A damn good one too, if you ask me!

After a 10 minute drive to get there, I walk in and don't see any cheese slices. I asked how long I would have to wait, and they told me they don't carry cheese slices. The only slices they carry have pork on them. What a waste of time. I don't eat pork, and I know I'm not the only one. I've never heard of a pizza place having no option for just cheese. I get that the restaurant can choose to run their business however they want, but there should be a disclaimer that they don't carry cheese before people waste their time coming in.
