They also have decent prices on their donuts, I got one glazed donuts and half a dozen holes, my grand total was $5 and some change, they also gave me 7 holes instead of 6 the only downfall is the location, being that it's right on 7 highway it can be a pain to get in and out of depending on traffic and which direction you're headed. read more

My son & I come here, religiously! Like clockwork, every Monday or Tuesday. We show up and order the same thing! He loves his donut balls whilst I love the glaze & strawberry cake donut (if/when they have strawberry avail if not, blueberry it is). Hubs loves his banana donut. Weekends, we'll typically order a large box for the family (grandma & grandpa love Lamar's as well)! Every time we get there, he knows the drill. Came here around 7am on a Thursday after getting in from out of town. Was looking forward to some Lamar Bar's and donut holes. Store was empty of customers and there were 3 people working behind the counter. Ordered 2 lamar bars (unfilled) and 1 dozen donut holes (half plain and half chocolate). got to the register and my total was $10.49. I was shocked by how expensive they had got in the 2 years since I was here last. Got home and one of the lamar bars was as I remember it. Thick, fluffy and chocolate-y. The other one (aka mine) was thin, flat and dense. It was disappointing. The next day when I went to have some left over donut holes realized why the amount was so high. They put 1 dozen of each donut holes in the bag. My bad for not checking but we essentially threw them out because they were stale. After this visit I don't foresee myself making this a must stop on my trips to the midwest. read more

I can't say enough about this place! You can actually sit in your car, phone in your donut order, and they will bring it to you at your car, go run your debit card and come back with the receipt! They are all sweet people and very customer-focused Now let's talk donuts! I don't know why crack they put in them, but I literally find myself randomly thinking of their donuts on a random day where I'm nowhere near their store! The maple bars are gigantic. I find that cutting them in half and saving half or sharing it is a safe way to go since these are packed with sweetness! Lamar's donuts make great gifts! When I take my puppy to daycare or training, I like to occasionally grab a dozen donuts to treat the handlers or trainers. It's the least I can do. Now... these donuts are so freaking delicious, you better think ahead and grab a pint of milk to wash them down! My all time favorite recommendation if you don't quite know what to do... get the glazed donut holes! This will allow you to try their amazing glaze without committing to a 4 pound Bavarian filled long John! A dozen donut holes will make everyone smile at breakfast, at the office, or even scarf them all down yourself! Another interesting point: I've tried their Blue springs store as well as their midtown KC store... the donuts were full quality and delicious in both locations! I have no complaints! If you have a sweet tooth, you'll love LaMar's! The icing on their Long Johns are delightful sweet and the dough is soft and pillowy. My favorite is their cinnamon sugar. Every goes well with a cup of coffee. Be sure to come early as they tend to close early. Many of the locations seem to close at 12 or 1pm, this one states 2pm or until they sell out. read more

Let me just say, Lamar's is the only place that I will get donuts Periodt. Always fresh and hits the spot! My go to's are Original Glazed, Ray's Original, and Apple Fritters! There are several locations around KC, but this one is tucked in a strip. I always call ahead if I'm looking for a specific speciality donut, because those are the ones that go the fastest. Today, the associate suggested a cinnamon crunch donut... and BABYYYYY she must have just known that was what my heart needed this morning! THE BEST DONUTS EVER!!! We travel quite a bit and as a donut lover I always try to find local chains or stand alone stores. These are by far the best donuts I've ever had! And the staff was unbelievably nice! We stopped a second time on our drive out of town back to Texas and the manager and employees recognized us and got a kick out of how much we loved them. The glazed was my favorite. We got a huge box that I don't entirely remember all their names. But not a single one was bad or just okay. They were all perfection! read more

The BEST donuts in KC.. bar none!.. I will travel from anywhere for a Lamar's donut. Light flakey, not too sweet or heavy. The Coffey is just ok. Which makes sense since their main business model is donuts. They hand you a cup, which I believe is drip coffee and there isn't much space in the Blue Springs location, to add condiments. Once a couple ppl are there, everyone else is just in the way of the donut line. My only recommendation would be to have the coffee bar away from the donut line. All that being said, this place has excellent donuts. Everything I have tried is fantastic.. it is pricey though.. be prepared to spend 30.00 for a dozen of mixed!! read more

I can't believe I have never left a review for LaMar's! For my money, the BEST donuts I have ever had in my life. Just a simple glazed donut is amazing but for me I am addicted to their cake donuts! My year round favorite is their apple spice cake donut! I can't describe how amazing it is. So flavorful and every time I eat one it just reaffirms that it is my favorite donut anywhere! I go to the LaMars on Blue Spring off of 7 hiway. One can order ahead or when your in the parking lot. With the virus one might have to get on line to read all about the different choices of donuts. One of the fun things I enjoyed along with rating the awesome donuts, was looking in the donut case and picking out my favorites. That can't be done right now. Lamar's donuts. Funny how this location sits kind of out of the way, down 7 highway, near a Thai restaurant. The thing is, it always has a steady stream of people, and the donuts are top notch. The apple fritter (my favorite), is the size a small dinner plate, with chunks of apple, and a glaze that only Lamar's can produce. Almost every other bite has a chunk of apple. The caramel long Johns, divine. And, they are long, as well, with not just an old dried up donut texture, but they are so luscious. Can a donut be luscious? The blueberry, with the Lamar's glaze, is amazing in your mouth. The blueberries are throughout, and if you only buy one, you'll wonder why you didn't buy two. German chocolate tastes like a German chocolate cake. 1/2 is enough for me, if that. The topping is caramel, with nuts, oh so good. The coconut frosted, with white frosting is a cake donut, but it is heaven, and if I am going to blow my diet, it is with this morsel of heavenly goodness that I eat. The donut holes are not old, dried up donut holes, but are fresh, often warm, and good. Again, with the Lamar's glaze applied lightly to each one. Sometimes I think this location is a work of culinary artistic virtue that is evident with each bite of diet blowing donut consumed. Only Big Momma's at Crown Center tops this location. The donuts are always fresh,and you can smell the things from the parking lot. They have one table on the outside, and one on the inside. You can also buy coffee, milk, and soda drinks. read more
