During lunch today, I popped into Lighting Inc. to check out their selection of chandeliers. I understood they were having a sell, so I was all in. Lighting Inc. had a good assortment of chandeliers. Abraham and another sales person greeted me as soon as I walked into the store. Abraham also showed me how to look online for even a greater selection. This was super helpful. I was scouting out some potential chandeliers and then I was planning on conversing with the hubs on a final selection. More work still to do..

The sectional is by Younger Furniture--a woman owned and family run business from NC. We felt good about shopping small business both in the store and the furniture maker. Stacie also had fabric samples so when we were in the decision phase we could take some home to check them out in our space. The delivery guys were great and respectful of our space. They worked quickly and efficiently, even though they have to carry our new sofa up a flight of stairs. Highly recommend SOLID and their sister store Five Elements.

The one item we did realize while in there, their price point was up there, but I didn't have much to compare to. Now some 7ish yrs on, it was time to replace the cushions. Our suite sits outside under a pergola, fully exposed to all the elements. They had been cleaned by the wonderful Ms Suzie, but they are grotty, green pollen stained, a little hole here and there. I started my search last spring, bogged down by C19 availability, difficult communications.. etc. One of my chairs had a bent rocker arm and leg, don't know how that happened. But, here is where paying for quality pays off. Winston Patio were great and actually replaced the arm for nothing... in fact they ended up sending me several arms, just in case. Anyway, I eventually reached back out to Backyard, formerly Outside In Style, to check on availability of cushions. Surprisingly, Jamie our original sales rep replied quickly and we began getting this together. 8 Cushions and $2700 later, we ordered them. On July 29th. They arrived yesterday and got the call. During this time I had reached out to Jamie to check status and she always replied promptly and on point. The location is convenient for us, just off of 71, well marked. Massive show room with all kinds of stuff. The gentlemen who helped us load the cushions was extremely nice and helpful and even helped me troubleshoot the bent leg and fix. I would imagine you could find less expensive stuff at the big box stores, however, I would find it hard to believe the furniture would still be in as good nick as our Winston's have faired over the past 7yrs. We picked up covers this time around, which I would imagine will keep the cushions like new much longer. Job done Backyard... we will be back, for some reason Suzie wants me to buy an outdoor grill... oh boy.

While coming back form the Apple Domain Northside store, I saw the CB2 store. Pretty often I see…read morefolks with those black CB2 shopping bags when I am at the Domain. Then a light bulb went off in my head. This store was one of the ones that was on our list for mirrors. While they had some mirrors, none were the size we are looking for. I learned from on of the sales associates, Marley, that CB stands for Crate & Barrel...parent store. CB2 Domain Northside store sells sleek, modern and eye-catching furniture. According to a sales associate, due to the store's heavy foot traffic (Next door to the Apple Domain Northside store), they design window displays to grab the attention of potential shoppers. CB2 sells a selection of sofas, tables, dinnerware and other modern furniture and housewares. The store appears a bit eclectic, which I like. They had some usual shaped vases and unique coffee table sculptures. I purchased 4 water glasses that were on sale as I have broken at least that many over the last few months. These glasses were $2.50 each and made in Poland.

She is cutting edge with what is happening in the design world, but also knows how to go with a customer's wishes with gentle guidance. We ended up almost becoming best friends in an hour... She's that type of person. No rush to go help others, no pressure. There are many types of furniture in the store, but Anna chooses unique pieces also...it's fun just to go see what they have!
