Lori Will was very helpful when we were searching for an outdoor fan. She quickly explained how to read the tags and look for a green sticker for damp or wet but she suggested if it's going to be outdoors wet is the way to go because you can hose it off. We didn't even know this was an option. We will be looking online for the right color choice, then will call Lori to place the order. read more

I rarely take the time to write reviews - but every now and than I receive such exceptional, above-and-beyond service from someone, it just seems wrong not to acknowledge it. My most recent visit to Lamps Plus in Fair Oaks was one of those experiences. I received 5-star service from a lighting associate named Viktor (I know his name and title because I asked for his card in case I had any questions on installation once I got home ... which I did end up having questions, and he was very helpful, even after I left the store.) But as for my store visit -- it was a very busy Sunday afternoon and, though the store was crowded and Viktor was in demand by other customers (and other employees, even) - he maintained such a calm demeanor and helpful, positive, anything-for-you attitude. I had a lot of questions, all of which he answered with patience, and he even took the time to look a few things up to make sure he was giving me accurate information (when others would have been tempted to just tell the customer what they thought was right and not been as thorough to check - so kudos for that!). What I loved most about my interactions with Viktor through was that he truly gave the impression that he was happy to be helping and that he viewed his job as a chance to serve others and be a bright spot in their day. It's great that he's super knowledgeable, too, but his attitude and "how can I help" approach was really inspirational, to the point that when I went to work the next day, i thought "how can I serve others and make them feel as valued as Viktor does?" So thanks, Viktor, for great service and for what I imagine can be a ripple effect of your customers following your lead and being inspired to excel at their jobs as well. read more

We drove many miles from the foothills to the Fair Oaks store and were please and delighted with everything about the store:great inventory, great location, great parking. We were looking for just the right lamp shade for our heirloom lamp. It was our luck to work with an associate, Jamil Manning. He was personable, professional and had an excellent aesthetic sense. We did not realize that we had bought the wrong types of lamps at a home improvement store simply because we did not have the knowledge or know what we were buying-- and there was no customer service at that store. And, he really went the extra mile when he had his staff go up on a ladder to place an extra large lightbulb in a ceiling lamp we were considering to ensure that lamp was large enough. Upon walking in the door, we were greeted immediately by Rich. He asked us what we were looking for, what type of light we wanted, and when we said we were still deciding, he gave us all the knowledge that was helpful, and let us do our thing. Never once did we feel pressured, or felt like he was trying to push any kind of sale on us. So, thanks Rich! It's all organized by standard, classic, modern, contemporary, and let me tell you, the choices are endless. If you love chandeliers, there are some absolutely gorgeous ones in there, or if you like more basic, they have tons of selections for that as well. After purchasing a mirror at my home location we were told we had to pick it up because they do not do deliveries. After setting a date and PAYING for the mirror we drove 2 hours to pick it up. Upon arrival they told us that not only was the transaction cancelled and they tried contacting our home store, but they hadn't taken it out of the warehouse. We not only had to repurchase it but waited for them to go to their warehouse. They kept blaming the other store for not answering their calls but it's all just poor communication and not professional. It's amazing how many choices they have! My husband and I drove quite a ways to check out their selection as we needed to buy a chandelier that night (last minute shoppers). Walk in and was completely overwhelmed with the high-level of choices in crystal chandeliers, glass, iron, you name it! There is a huge selection of different kinds of quality from extremely high end to nice and affordable. Took us about an hour to finally settle on the chandelier we liked, and much to our luck it was 50% off. They are definitely more on the spendy side, but you generally get what you pay for. The gentleman that helped us was very friendly and personable, not pushy and was able to answer all of our questions. Bear in mind they don't necessarily have every piece on display in stock, so prepare for that in advance.
