We have purchased items here before and have been pleased. However, today was a big mistake to shop here today. Greeted when we,entered and was taken to a location in the store to see what we were looking for. We showed the salesperson what we wanted and he proceeded to check inventory and was told one was in stock. Started walking to the front of the store to purchase. By the time we could get there, salesman started working with a new customer. After 20 minutes later, I asked if there was anyone who could sell me a lamp...got the mgr . She checked the inventory and was told "out of stock." CUSTOMER SERVICE MEANS NO SERVICE! Too much more to add about this trip. Won't be back! read more

I came in-store to purchase a console table recently. When I ordered I mentioned my wife and I had purchased a beautiful wall clock from them a few years back and it suddenly stopped working. The manager, "Mo" said to bring it in and he would see what they could do. So I brought in the clock the next day, and the day after Mo called and said it was fixed, when I came in to pick it up he showed me what the problem was and said, "no charge"! I had an ok experience here. I walked in knowing pretty much exactly what I wanted, so I wasn't really interested in all the things the salespeople were trying to pitch to me...but kudos for at least trying, I guess. Placed an order for ceiling fans that they didn't have in stock at the store and they told me that they would let me know when it would be ready for pickup. That's where it got a little annoying - I picked up the order, signed for it, etc. Then got 3 emails two weeks later saying that the order was being shipped to the store, followed shortly thereafter by a phone call asking if I'd already picked up the order. I confirmed I did. Then got yet another call 2 days later asking again if I had already gotten my order. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchases, but let down by their organization skills. read more

I said in one and took a demo and fell in love in right away was gonna purchase it. 3 to 4 salesman or employees Sommy did not approach me did not say hello looked at me with the weird look and I did not get an in customer service so I walked out. I ordered a lamp on line from Lamps Plus and when my electrician went to install it, it was missing a piece. I needed it replaced very quickly and the assistant manager William over at the Pasadena location got the lamp ordered for me immediately, told me it would come in on Tuesday at noon, and was very polite and helpful. I came today, Tuesday, at 12:15 after calling to verify it was there. William helped me return the other light and even helped me out to my car with my new fixture. He assured me if there was any problem with this one, they would take care of it right away. What wonderful customer service! I highly recommend this lamps plus as you will be well taken care of! This is my fav Lampsplus. The staff is very helpful, especially Linda and Alvaro and they have a great selection of lighting. I really like the personal attention as we were shopping for bathroom lighting and Alvaro showed us how they looked with the lights turned on. We appreciated being treated with care. But the best part: when we walked in the door and looked around a bit , Linda came up and offered her assistance. Then she showed us some ceiling fans and we couldn't find any we liked. She then showed us a floor model on sale and my wife loved it! We purchased it and got it home only to find that there was something weird going on with it. I called and spoke to the manager Juan who said bring it back and he'd test it. Well long story short, we ended up with a brand new fan for the same price since he wasn't comfortable with the way it was working and wanted us to be completely satisfied! Recently I needed to return three lamps to this store because they weren't right for two bathrooms that we were renovating. Richard Low, a lighting consultant, and possibly the manager (?) walked a new clerk through the process. Not only was I impressed with his patience and understanding in working with the new employee, he was unusually considerate of me and accepted the returns without hassling me in any way. We made a large purchase at Lamps Plus. I received a call from one of the sales associates a few weeks later notifying me that my order had arrived, and was ready for pickup. When i arrived at the store, i waited in line to speak to the one associate at the register. I explained that i had received a call and was ready to pick up the order. The associate disappeared into the storage room, and emerged a few minutes later, empty handed. He said there was nothing for me. I explained that i received a call about 30 minutes earlier stating that my order was in. This associate then asked me, "Who did you speak with?". I responded, given that the guy on the phone knew my name and the order and my phone number, I assumed it was legit and didn't ask for his name or address or social security number. Then the associate "HELPING" me (and I do use the work helping in the most negative way possible) informed me that there was nothing he could do, and returned to his post at the cashier's desk. I was dumbfounded. So, instead of going directly home, I took the liberty of perusing the sales floor for associates. The first 2 weren't a hit. But the third one was, and verified that my LARGE order was in the storage room, and that he would get it. I won't say that the associate that I initially spoke to is a weasel, but i think his idea of customer service places him down more into the WORM category. For some unknown reason that only God knows why, my family still shops here. I certainly hope that you don't have the misfortune of being "HELPED" by the WORM that "HELPED" me. read more

I purchased a chandelier from this store some years ago and only recently had an issue with a plastic piece, which bring us to this review. Let me preface by saying, my experience with this store has always been great, be it service or sale. However, this one particular situation could have gone in the opposite direction, were it not for Manny's patience and definition of excellent customer service. Here's how it all started... After a year or so of looking up to see an otherwise beautiful chandelier lose it's shape, considering the plastic piece that held it together had warped overtime--most likely due to heat exposure--, I built up the courage for making a trip into the store to find resolution. I was greeting upon setting foot in the store and left quickly with a receipt in hand for the part I needed. A week went by... Two weeks went by... After the third week, I decided it best to follow-up with a phone call, and was lucky to be connected with Manny. Although I was frustrated at first, his demeanor put me at ease and gave me the impression, that he--a representative of the store-- was willing to go the distance and do whatever it took to get me this gosh darn piece that was so difficult to find. Essentially, the part I was looking for was found to be defective and no longer in the warehouse, triggering for my initial order of it to cancel out. The part finally arrived to my residence about a week ago and I couldn't be happier. My chandelier is glistening again and considering the outstanding service I received from this gentleman, I will not only return to him for future purchases but will also refer anyone I know who is in the market for lighting. My husband & I went into the Pasadena store on Sat to look around. He went back in on Monday to purchase a lamp. There were 4 salespeople at the front desk, talking to one another. He walked to the area where the lamp was displayed, and waited. One person walked past him, without looking at him or acknowledging him in any way. A few mins later a woman, salesperson, walked past and he said he had a question and wanted to buy the lamp. She said she would b right back ( didn't say she was with someone or she would send someone else over). He waited 15 mins and she never came back. He decided to leave, and when he walked past the front counter, 4 salespeople were there, talking to one another. No one acknowledged him, said good bye....nothing. Not only did these employees "walk a sale, but they have lost a customer. We will never shop in the Pasadena Lamps Plus again. Very rude, untrained staff. read more

I really like the selection they have, but some of the prices are astronomical. I always wait for their sales and save about $30-$100 off each item. Some of the sales people are very helpful, but others like Linda act very rude. They work off of commission and you would think they would be nicer to you, but I guess not. The first time I came here, she was reasonably nice until the 2nd or 3rd time I came back and didn't go to her. She was busy so I opted for another person. I guess she took it to the heart and every time I go there, she ignores me. How rude is that? My husband told me to return all the stuff she had received a commission off of and buy it with someone else. I decided against it because that is way too much work with my time constraints. My advice is to find anyone besides Linda. She does not know how to act professional. read more

I needed to replace the pleated lamp shades for a pair of swing arm wall lamps. First I looked on the web but decided that this is something I should actually see first before buying because there are too many variables and options. I went to a couple other stores first before going to Lamps Plus. They had a huge selection of lamp shades that were well organized. It took less than five minutes to find exactly what I waited. These guys are great! I bought an LED fixture about 4 years ago, but no longer have the receipt. It broke, and they exchange it for a new one - which was a bit cheaper, so I even got store credit. But more then that we were extremely happy about the quality of service from each person we dealt with. Because they have such a large selection we were slightly overwhelmed but the salesperson (James) walked us through the store and answered our many questions and together we found just what we were looking for. Without the attentive service I could imagine it would be a frustrating experience. When we checked out the woman who helped us was again very knowledgable and friendly just as James had been. I had such an amazing experience here! This store comes highly recommended. The staff is outstanding with tons of knowledge and experience. They have a huge variety of lamps at very reasonable prices. You can find everything from floor lamps, table lamps, celling fans, chandeliers, lampposts, etc. The prices are great!! Even better are their sales. Their sales are ridiculous!! The chandelier I selected was 50% off and it's absolutely perfect!! Upon walking into this location I was instantly greeted by Yolanda. I had an idea of what I wanted so I told her. I was looking for a feminine, round-shaped chandelier with crystals for my bedroom. Yolanda brought me to a section that displayed several that matched my description. Giving Yolanda some more information such as room color, etc. along with a few questions, she was able to answer my difficult questions as well as provide recommendations and suggestions. She was exceptionally patient too!! Purchasing lighting can be quite overwhelming but if you work with someone like Yolanda, she makes it very easy. Yolanda proved to have excellent customer service and design skills. I told Yolanda I'd be back in the future when I redecorate my dining room. I'm thinking about going back for new lighting fixtures in other rooms and my yard as well. This process was just too easy not to continue to go back. I paid an additional $95 for installation, which also includes a 1-year warranty. The chandelier was shipped to my home and took approximately 4 days to arrive. After receiving it, Lamps Plus called to set-up an installation date and time. I was given a number to call them but hadn't gotten to it yet so I loved that they followed up in a timely manner. They had an available timeslot for 2 days later, and the time was a 4 hour window. 2 professional men showed up and were in and out within minutes. These guys were friendly, fast and extremely efficient. They made sure I loved the product and knew how to operate it before they left. I was beyond impressed at that point. read more

What a great buying experience! I normally hate shopping for home goods, especially fixtures that are somewhat permanent to the home aesthetics, and this store changed my attitude completely. I'm remodeling my home and was having difficulty deciding on ceiling lights for the bedrooms. Shopping online, its tough to decide on what to purchase. It was nice to browse through the extensive inventory and imagine the items in the bedrooms. After narrowing down the selection, I made a visit to the store to see the fixtures in-person and so glad I did. I met Melissa who grabbed a ladder twice her size just to check on a price for me. I purchased all of my light fixtures from LampsPlus and i am very happy with all of them. They were sooooo patient with me and im very thankful for that. I had bought a bunch of fixtures because im so indecisive when it comes to something permanent lol so i decided at home which options i liked and returned the ones I didn't need any more. I'm giving the store 5 stars because of their excellent customer service. It's true that I don't think their selection is that great, and some of their stuff is dated. But they've got a wide enough variety, I think, and you can also get stuff online. I bought track lighting from the store, which was good enough for me. I found the price to be reasonable. Note that there is also a service I saw where you can design your own chandelier, which is cool. But about their customer service, first they were good about giving me the new homebuyer discount of 10%. Because I was remodeling, I had my own people install my track lights, but noticed that the small shades were missing. The workers claimed that the small shades were never there, which of course I could not believe. Also, one of the bulbs was defective. I went to Lamps Plus, and they said no problem. I didn't even have a receipt (although my information was already in the computer), and they gave me a new bulb, and also ordered the new small shades, free of charge! Who can complain about that? It was extremely easy and hassle free. I thank Mo Hossain for his help as well as Vijay, who originally helped me. My experience was excellent! read more

Such a great experience at Lamps Plus. You don't often get great customer service anymore, but here it was top notch. A friendly sales associate approached me right away, and not in an obnoxious way. He took his time to show me different styles that met my budget, swapped out different light bulbs so I could see what they'd look like, and took lamps off the shelf so I could see them up close. When I made my decision, and they didn't have anymore in the back, he sold me the floor model at a discount, and took it in the back and wrapped it in foam wrap for the ride home. This is how customer service should be everywhere! Sadly that's just not the case anymore. So, instead of buying something cheap at a discount store, stop by here first. They just might have something in your price range, and they come with a money back guarantee if you're not satisfied. It's worth your time. read more

I drove from San Bernardino and needed a part ordered for my hunter ceiling fan..rather than call them...the clerk handed me a slip of paper and told me I had to call myself. I guess driving 217 miles isn't worth it. I called the corp office and due to their rating the store is being closed...they just can't get good customer service. read more
