This is the second update of my 9/20/20 review. After I left the first review update (10/7/20) someone from Lamps Plus finally did contact me to address the problem that I was having with my ceiling fan. The tech support rep made a sincere effort to remedy the problem, but the problem persisted. The rep sent me replacement parts, free of charge, and I had to pay an electrician to repair the fan. I am increasing my rating of Lamps Plus to three stars because of the effort made to help me by the tech support rep. I could not give Lamps Plus a higher rating because of how difficult it was to connect with their customer service reps. read more

We received exceptional service from two salespeople at the Morena Location. Justyna walked us around the store showing us everything we needed and made sure we understood everything about each item and that we had the best experience. When I asked about some pricing she immediately involved another salesperson, Ronnie and their manager to confirm the very best pricing so we were happy. Never even got to talk to a sales person. Two were having a conversation & when I asked some questions they pointed me to another part of the store then went immediately back to their conversation. During our recent home remodel we made several trips to Lamps Plus to purchase: 2 chandeliers, 4 bathroom scones, 2 outdoor light fixtures and one beautiful crystal lamp. Everytime we were there we were greeted and helped by Dustin. He helped us greatly and even had our purchases (spedial orders) delivered to our home free of charge. We experienced great customer service. They have an excellent selection of lighting fixtures and unique products you just dont see anywhere else. Many more on their website. Love love this store. I was doing an extensive remodel last summer which became extra challenging because of pandemic-related issues. I had a hard time finding things that worked in the space and that also went together due to closures and limited supplies. Several months ago I came in looking for parts to repair a standing lamp. They offered an even better solution, a step switch and recommended a dimmer for ambiance lights. Great personalized service from Alvo at this conveniently located store. They picked up a lamp I liked at another location and put it together for me so I could the evaluate the height/color/light/etc and whether or not I wanted it. Once they did I decided I wanted it and they were exceptionally fair when they found a scratch on it. The collection that these guys have is really impressive, but all the reviewers are right, the prices are quite high. Be careful when you come because you might come in, see something you absolutely love, only to see that the price is too high for you to consider buying. I did buy some awesome lamps from here which I love, but that's bc they were marked down quite nicely on a sale. There were dozens of things that I would have loved to buy but I couldn't justify buying it at the prices listed. Still I would say it's worth a trip. I came in looking for a light for a dining room, I wanted something to hang over my coffee table, since it's in the center of the living room. I didn't have the time to have to show him what I needed myself, but my assistant advised this was the easiest transaction to date. The lightings in the show room are nice. However the installers are inexperienced and won't admit that. I made a mistake of equating higher price with higher quality. In Lamps Plus case, the expensive electricians was not skilled at all. The ceiling fan that I purchased had a malfunctioning remote control. However Lamps Plus's own electrician refused to troubleshoot it for free even though it's the product's problem. Very irresponsible business. Update: I am changing the review from 2 stars to 4 stars. The store manager Matt is quite responsive. He contacted me immediately after he learned the situation and we are currently resolving the problem. read more

I have had a horrible experience with the manager of the store Matt i have called since Feb my daughter has had a problem with her fan he never returned my phone calls i had to go to the store and tell him about this issue if your a manager of a store you should be able to help the customer for any reason at all. There going to replace the fan we have bought three fans there and a few light fixtures there. The customer service in San Diego for anything you buy is they dont care i come from back east they care about the customer. Not here they care less and never call back the customer. read more

The lamps Plus on Morena Blvd is the worst store I've had to works with. We submitted about 4 or 5 online request for "reserve items" on their website using my cell phone as the contact and the next day did not receive a single text or call back. I called in today and spoke to two sales men (Matt) who pretends to want to help but when I asked if I can get an update on the "reserve item" they asked me to give them the item numbers so they can check.....I'm thinking, what's the point of this online "reserve item" if they don't check the system and just want me to provide all these numbers over the phone? I spent 30 min. yesterday using their online system setting up these individual texts to my cell and it was a complete waste of time. Then they put me on hold for about 10 min. and when the other sales guy came back he said Matt was busy and to call back later. I told him I would hold because he was supposed to look up the reserve list and let me know what the status is. The 2nd sales guy said ok and left me on hold for over 35 minutes! I finally hung up after 40 min. When I called back I got Matt again and told him I've been on hold waiting for him to get back to me and he stated that he doesn't think the "reserve item" works correctly or when the store is not open but he's unsure. So it looks like I was waiting on hold for nothing because Matt didn't come back with any info. When I asked him if he thought it was ok to leave someone on hold for 35 min he apologized but again did not provide any information on the items I submitted....truly unbelievable bad service!!! read more

I went in today after looking on line at lighting for a couple of weeks. Desiree helped me out, I guess it was apparent I was overwhelmed. She helped me make good choices on the space I'm working with. She even pulled up other things for my place in line with what I'm trying to do. I found what I was looking for and realized it was the same light that I saw at Home Depot but for twice the price. Terrible customer service. Purchased several chandeliers here. We really liked the selection, although their prices are a little steep. We purchased the chandeliers 3 weeks before we moved into our new house and they assured us we would have them by then. We hired contractors for some minor renovation and the lighting installation. Well one month later we still didn't have the lights. The manager even said she didn't know why they didn't ship in time (from Los Angeles to San Diego!) and said we could drive there to pick it up. Seriously?! After waiting for one month for a fixture to be delivered 1 1/2 hours that was her solution. After numerous calls to the owner (since the manager couldn't help and kept saying 'we needed to talk to the owner) we never got a response. So we were out the money for the contractor service, had to pay a separate electrician to install the fixture, and never got a response. WILL NEVER PURCHASE THERE AGAIN! read more

I had already picked out the sconces I wanted to purchase by looking at their website, just needed to see them in person and buy them. Easier said than done. Not a single salesperson made eye contact with me, never mind saying hello. One salesgirl helped another lady for awhile then she walked right by me to go downstairs and talk to another salesperson. I wandered around trying to make eye contact, but was being absolutely ignored. I stood in line at the register and the lady there finally asked if I needed help. It's such a cool store, but the costumer service is nonexistent.
