I paid $35 to have my pants altered, and picked them up to find the stitching clearly uneven and crooked. It looked rushed and careless. When I calmly pointed this out, the owner cut me off, grew increasingly angry, raised his voice, and kept saying he'd "done his best" and that I'd never find better work. He even told me to try somewhere else. There was zero willingness to inspect the issue or make it right. I paid to avoid further conflict and left--won't be back. This was a simple job, and with several people working in the back, it felt like the work was passed off and not checked. As the owner, he should stand behind the result and his behavior. Their website claims: "We pride ourselves on only the most impeccable care for your garments and the friendliest customer service in New York City. We hope to serve you soon!" My experience was the exact opposite--both in quality and customer service. Based on what I saw, the many glowing reviews don't match reality. Save your money and your time. Good for simple dry cleaning jobs on shirts, trousers, effectively anything you wouldn't mind getting damaged. Beware giving them jackets or any cleaning that requires special care or instructions. I brought them the same 3/2 jacket (has 3 buttons, but is cut to be buttoned on the middle button) twice, asking them to please press it with the middle button closed (not with the top button closed). The first time, they pressed it with the top button closed, which disfigured the lapel and left a crease that I managed to iron out at home. I called, they apologized, and I chalked it up to being an honest mistake. The second time, I specifically mentioned this incident to the man at the register, showed him the jacket and which button should be closed when it's pressed, and asked him if he could please make a written note of how the jacket should be pressed. He reassured me (somewhat dismissively) that it would be pressed correctly, but I noticed he didn't seem to write anything down. Unsurprisingly, when I went to pick it up the next day, it had been pressed incorrectly again. Yuriy was nice enough to press it on the on the spot to try to remove the creases (part of why I'm giving 3 stars), but it didn't fully remove them. He did also offer to press it further overnight, but I had to decline since I needed the jacket for an out of town meeting the next day. I won't be returning after this, which is unfortunate since they do offer a quick turnaround, but I don't want to continue to risk my clothes / have to spend time correcting issues like this. I've taken similar jackets to other dry cleaners in NY and LA, and all have managed to press them correctly without issue, rather than dismissing instructions up front and then trying to make corrections after the fact. read more

When you're in a jam and need a quick alteration, this is the place to go if you're on the Upper West Side. Unlike other cleaners, the tailor, Uri, is at this location everyday. However, I highly advise NOT to get a cleaning if you are getting an alteration. I picked up my tuxedo the other day. While the alteration of the waist was done well, the tuxedo was not cleaned. So called 'dust' was all over the jacket and pants. I was told the textile fibers, white particles, strands of thread, etc. were more pronounced because it was 'cleaned' so well. In truth, I'm happy with the alteration but dissatisfied with the cleaning. read more

So we went there to see the place the staff and yuri were very nice and friendly and very honest about the pricings and made us feel comfortable and the result on the dress was just amaizing . I don't use Yuri for tailoring, though he has his fans. I mainly use landmark for actual dry cleaning and pressing. Service is great and they have an on site plant ( you can see the machine at the store) . They are one of the few UWS cleaners that can turn around items quickly, which I appreciate. Prices a little high for the Upper West Side (and went up every year ) but I moved here from my previous cleaner which took too long to do things for me ( and didn't provide the same level of service) . read more

Really upsetting/baffling experience here. Needed a black tie dress to be cleaned and they ruined the fabric. Steamed the tulle (the tag said do not steam) and their "efforts" turned the fabric into a permanently wrinkled mess. Also managed to snag the fabric throughout (perhaps burns depending on the steam used), see picture. I'm out over $600 and all I got was a man talking over me/at me. Naturally, I'm unimpressed, upset, and we will definitely never step foot in here again. read more

Yuri is great. It's the surrounding staff I am disappointed in. Called in ahead of time and asked to have my coat ready. I would be there in 15 minutes. Staff member on phone said okay. Person on the phone was sitting at the counter when I arrived. Coat was not retrieved. Repeated my request. Mid-search the phone rang. He stopped helping me and began conversing on the phone. Do not go here for dry cleaning services! One of my blouses was ruined (fabric altered and chemical stain) and the manager refused to reimburse for this issue. This blouse is ruined and valued at $200. After looking through other reviews, I see there are other similar complaints and I wish I had not gone to this business from the start. They are honest​, do a great job on dry cleaning and laundry and they pick up and deliver and I live in a townhouse​ with no doorman. Landmark Cleaners is in a class by itself. I brought them a down comforter to dry clean. It was at least 3 years old and stained in numerous places. To my total surprise what I got back was completely stain free comforter which looked the comforter when I first bought it. I never thought they could return it to its pristine state. They are miracle workers I just went back to them with an outside jacket which aside from being filthy the buttons that held additional layer were useless because the holes had become too big. Yuriy saved Christmas. I had taken a leather jacket to another tailor for a zipper replacement in December. Just a few days before the holiday, I received a message that they couldn't do the work and that I could leave the jacket over the holiday or pick it up. Oh noes! I immediately took the jacket to Landmark and Yuriy took pity. He replaced the zipper and also fixed the frayed lining. All for as much as I had been quoted before. Thanks to Yuriy, there were happy smiles on Christmas morning. That jacket is worn every day. Also, Landmark did a great job cleaning my wedding dress a few years ago. I've been using these guys for a little over a year now, mainly for wash and press men's shirts. They charge a pretty reasonable price and never tried to push something I didn't want, like many other services do. I've also used them for the occasional wash and fold and the tailor ( a really nice russian man) and apart from a glitch here and there, the service has always been kind. When they did make a mistake they apologized profusely and gave me credit towards future services. My problem with them started when I was using them more for my dress shirts as well. To be honest, I never understood why a woman's shirt should cost more than a man's, unless it has some details that make it harder to iron. If both shirts are simple cotton button up shirts, they should cost the same, no? But everywhere you look, cleaning a woman's shirt costs more than three times the cost of a man's shirt. This is, however, the case with all dry cleaners in the city. The last straw for me was when I brought in a shirt dress, maybe 5 inches longer than your normal shirt . The man at the counter kindly took it in and gave me a ticket for it. I noticed he was charging me $13 to have it washed and pressed - not even dry-cleaned! When I asked him why so much, he told me - this is a dress, that is how much a dress costs. I had washed this piece of clothing with them before, and they only charged me $7 (which is also an out rage as far as I'm concerned) , but even when I showed him a receipt for it, he said that time it was a mistake and refused to wash it for less. I never had a problem paying them a little more, since the service was usually pretty good and very polite, so much so that I was willing to over look the occasional mistake and over charge. But saying that he is charging me $6 more because it takes longer to iron the shirt when it is s simple cotton shirt that can basically be pressed just like any other (my husbands shirts are almost in the same length), it is too much for me. I am on the lookout for a better service. read more
