I've bought a lot of cars in my life. I recently bought a car at Landmark (2nd purchase there). I analyzed every nearby car in the category I wanted for 3 months before deciding. They were completely patient with me as I checked out all the choices in the category I was interested in on their lot. I would have hated to have me as a customer. They were very kind, knowledgeable, and straightforward. I had the same experience there the last time I bought a car from them (2003?). I was unhappy with a car I bought last year from another Ford dealer. That dealer rushed me, didn't show me all of the choices, and didn't explain things. I also appreciate Landmark because they filled the gas tank. It's a small thing, but it meant a lot. (The other dealer let me go with 1/8 a tank of gas.) In addition, the salesman was really focused on what review I would give him. Buying a car is a major purchase and can cause a lot of fear. I don't take it lightly. The guy running the team (whos name I can't remember) has been really nice and gone above and beyond to help me, and work with me. Everything else about the dealership has been like pulling teeth. Payment counter women are rude assholes, they have no idea how the ford rewards program works. Also had issues with shuttle service. We have been loyal Ford customers since 2008. We bought a new Ford Escape and a new Ford Ranger. Our Escape has had many issues from wiring to transmission issues. We brought in our Escape for transmission issues in September when it was under warranty. The SUV was at Landmark until October 19th waiting on the part to come in before it was finally fixed. On November 18th we again were having the same transmission issues. We sent 2 e-mails in November requesting an appointment and never received a response. We then called December 4th and did not get an appointment until December 29th. The mileage was 463 miles over warranty in November when we had the same issues. This time they took the transmission apart to fix the issue and charged us over $2500. We are no longer Ford customers. read more

Stopped in to look at a new Ford Escape PHEV, but they had added $4,000 to MSRP, putting it over our limit. Sales person assured us we could lease the car, then pay off the lease, and get enough EV rebates and tax cuts to lower the price enough. Finance person had us sigh lease docs without going through all details, like a $645 acquisition fee - still don't know what that is. Then we found we wouldn't quality for reduced WA EV sales tax a few days later, so another couple thousand bucks. Basically they lied about the lease and didn't explain the details and when we called a higher up a few days later, it was, so sorry, you should have known better. They wouldn't budge an inch on their 4k dealer markup and are laughing all the way to the bank. Not trustworthy! Any other Ford dealership has to be better than Landmark Ford! read more

We were traveling about 300 miles along I-5 pulling our 5th wheel trailer when our engine service light came on in our Ford truck. We were limited on areas on and off the freeway with our trailer in tow, so we traveled to the nearest Ford dealership, which happened to be Landmark Ford. We pulled in and went to the service department to explain our issue. I was told that they were booked up for the day and would not be able to check the code for us. I explained that I would not require service, but just wanted to make sure that the code was not something that was a major issue. I was told a second time that without an appointment they would not be able check my code! We were not demanding immediate "drop everything" service, but I knew the engine code diagnostic would take only a few minutes of time. We left the dealership completely dissatisfied with the lack of customer service we had received. We did find a nearby Baxter's Auto Parts that checked the code for us, indicating it was nothing major. We are frequent buyers of new vehicles, and I can guarantee that we will not be buying anything at all from Landmark. read more

I had a recall on my ford focus and was told my trunk was included in that recall. After setting an early appointment because I was told it would take 3-4 hours to complete I get told that my trunk is not covered in the recall. I would not have made the appointment if I had known this. Now I have wasted my morning and 4 hours to be told the problem I have I cannot get fixed all because the person over the phone who made the appointment was wrong and the guy who serviced my vehicle also did not look up the recall before working on my vehicle. "You can get in your car and take it somewhere else" Mark Tubbs(Blue Team) Mark Tubbs of the blue team should not have his job. I brought my 21 Explorer ST in for warranty work and recalls. First, the issue of him not having me on his schedule was not his fault, that was a company issue. That being said when I told him the A.C wasn't blowing cold air, Mark Tubbs gets this crappy look on his face and says "in the winter?" Yeah in the winter dude! I paid 64k for my car and I want it to work year round. Next he starts making excuses about how short staffed he is an picks up a stack of work orders and holds them up to me. Like I told mark, that's not my problem. I scheduled this work on February 21st. Now here is my real issue. I told my wife that this is fucking bullshit. And mark says hey we aren't going to curse. And that I can get in my car and take it somewhere else. So apparently Mark Tubbs told me I can find a new car dealership. By him saying I can take my car somewhere else for service, I would assume he would rather me purchase my vehicles elsewhere. Mark has no business telling me what language I can use when talking to my wife about this poor service. Kris Kelso the service manager did a fine job with handling the car service issues. Everything went terribly wrong when we got there to pick up the car. I almost cancelled the order because I was so upset... So why am I giving them 5 starts! Because they did everything in their power to make it right, and that's the most important thing. Everyone screws up once in a while, but not everyone tries to make right. I have used Landmark for service on my F-150 for almost 20 years with good to great interactions with two different service advisors over most of this time, as well as responsive service. Recently my starter completely failed. While waiting for a tow truck, it took 1 1/2 hours to finally get a human to talk to me or call back from their service center. I wanted to confirm I could have the truck dropped off there. I finally received a call from the new service advisor who informed me that he could probably work me in for an appointment in 3 to 4 weeks. I said, seriously, my truck is dead, and Landmark can't fit it in over the next couple of days to replace a starter. Nope, we have other customers already booked. Well, they have one less customer now for their busy schedule. And I'm about to purchase a new $65,000 F-150. Guess what dealer won't be in on that action. read more

Over the years I've had good luck and bad kick with their service department. I'm happy to say that they've regained my trust and that my visits over the past couple years have been pretty positive. Absolutely, DO NOT buy a car from here! This place is a nightmare. I experienced a horrific experience here last April 2020. I was shopping for a newer car and found a Ford car on their lot that I really, really liked. David Harder was on the job then and spent some time trying to sell it to me. I was with my parents at the time (and even though he was working primarily with me), he also tried to win my whole family over. I told him I wanted to think about it. I came back two days later and it was his day off. I ended up working with a guy named Jim, but David had said that prices were negotiable on vehicles, and that I could work with him to get a great deal on a car that I would love. I decided to wait since it was a buyers market in April due to Covid-19 times and restrictions. That Saturday (at the end of the week), I called David and made negotiations on the car I was eyeing. He went back and forth over the phone, but then came back and told me that we "made a deal". He said they accepted my offer and that he would call me back "in a jiffy" to talk about final steps about getting a ride to pick it up and finish up the paperwork and finish the sale. I was willing to pay for the car completely without financing. The mission line for their business is "Satisfaction is our main concern". I was extremely happy and anticipated a call back. After waiting over an hour, I called him back to ask why he hadn't called and why it was taking longer than a "jiffy". He then tells me that they sold the car to someone else who was going on a payment plan. I was in shock. I asked him why he didn't call me immediately to tell me this was happening. He really couldn't give me an answer. He had no empathy, no concern, and acted like he never had even "made a deal" in selling me the car. It was a complete bait and switch scenario. When I freaked out and fell apart over the phone, his only reaction was - well, I'm sorry but there is nothing else I can do. He proceeded to act like he did nothing wrong and that the sale never was finalized, so I was delusional to have false hope that the deal was done. I spoke to David's manager later that afternoon, and he told me that they do this to people all the time. That's not good to hear that a company sells cars to multiple buyers and that they lie on the spot to drive up sales on cars. That is quite deceptive. I will NEVER buy a car from them. I explained to David that it would have been nice for him to do something as an apology like provide me with a small gift card to Starbucks or give me more attention as a buyer to make things right. He did none of the above. He told me he would call me on Monday or Tuesday but he didn't care about me or want to get a sale. It was a month later when I heard back from Landmark and it was from Jim and other sales people and not David. David simply went missing. I am grateful this opportunity happened though because I found a similar car someplace else for a much cheaper price. At the core of it, I am thankful because this situation saved me $3000. This is why I gave them two stars instead of 1. The car service department is decent, but not the sales car division. read more

If you only have to deal with one department, the service is fine. But if you need body shop work and service and/or a rental, there is no communication between the departments. Each department makes you feel likes it's a burden on them to have to communicate with another department and none of them communicate any of the information you've given them to each other. You have to keep digging up the same information and passing it on. This results in delays, things not being ready, rental car reservations not being made, insurance claims not being coordinated, etc. read more

I had a good experience buying the car from this dealership and we loved the woman that helped us. She was not pushy and lovely to work with. She followed through - dotting the last "i" and crossing the last "t". My daughter (who was with me when I purchased he explorer) took her card and will go back to buy a car through her. (Diane Pohl) I like that the followup is amazing - we get letters when it is time for a check up - the paper work is clear and well laid out. The Tan Team always treats me well. We had a glitch with my explorer but the tan team worked and worked until they figured it out - no experience to me. I am impressed. (Nathan is who we work with) The waiting area is leather and has a nice flat screen, there is a nice children waiting area so they will not become board. They are always prompt with rentals and getting back to us to let us know how it is going. There is a nice little shop to look through while you wait - I get side tracked in the girl things while hubby likes the boy side of it. NEVER will I have "LANDMARK FORD" service my vehicle again. This is the 2nd time they have done me wrong. Shame on me. Had my 2016 Lincoln MKC SUV serviced on April 2, 2020. I also bought my Lincoln from them as well. They had my car for 2 hours. Today 5-9-2020 my husband placed a new battery in my suv AND saw the master cylinder resevior container sitting on my engine cover (this explains the noise we were hearing) THEN goes to check my oil and there was less then a rice grain of oil on my dip stick. I paid for the works. My coolant is well below the level and all other fluids were extremely low. I came all the way from east Vancouver Wa to have these incompetent people in TIGARD at LANDMARK FORD NOT service my car obviously. Feeling RIPED OFF and DECIEVED. More then pissed off. Scheduled an appointment for "the works" service on my explorer the day before. Somehow it got scheduled with Adam on the BROWN team. I usually use the Julian on the GREEN team. Adam was very pleasant to work with and rushed the paperwork to the service department before the lunch break because I was going to wait. I asked him about an idling issue I was having. He looked it up and found a Ford service bulletin to correct it. I explained to him I usually use the Green team and he said that it was fine to have Julian write it up. I went into Julian's office and told him what I talked to Adam about. He immediately wrote it up and said that if I had another hour, he would have it done right now. They had it done in 40 minutes. It is sort of sad. After digging through some of the past reviews for the service department, I am finding that the issues I experienced today are not new ones. Identical complaints stemming from the last 2 years without much improvement. My service tech Henry was awesome despite the lack luster care his teammates showed. Lack of teamwork being bad enough, I later found out that he is one of the more green employees there... maybe the rest of the staff should take some notes from him on what communication processes need to be solved. Also yea 3.5 hours for an oil change when you "book an appointment" is brutal and truly only points to the likelihood that the service workers might be doing other things rather than.. you know... working? Took my 1999 F150 with 272,000 miles to their service department from 2012 to early 2022. Okay routine service and timely but not very good at diagnostics for older vehicles. In Jan 2022 they could not solve my corrosion issue after several tries (heater core replaced several times /had no heat or defroster as a result). Also had an oil leak. Head of service told me it was time for a new engine and transmission or purchasing a new vehicle. Took the F150 to Accurate Auto in Lake Oswego who had a master Ford Mechanic (who worked at Ford for 25 years) and he diagnosed the issues exactly and installed a new heavy duty battery cable, new radiator and one engine gasket plus used the correct coolant (this is a very common corrosion issue with old F150's). Cost me $4512. My F150 runs like a new vehicle the last two plus years. I was so happy with it I installed new leather seats, new windshield and new headlights. Looks gorgeous also. Only thing else I have had to do was replace brake pads and routine servicing. So in the last two years spent a total of about $6k and driven about 25,000 trouble free miles. Almost at 300,000 and still going strong. Sure beats getting a new engine/transmission or replacing the vehicle. Forget any dealer if you have an older vehicle with issues. They don't want to deal with them. read more
