I visited on Friday afternoon to sit at the bar for Happy Hour and it was an excellent experience. I arrived and headed to the bar at 3:10 PM, Happy Hour is 3-7. There was one other table occupied. Happy Hour specials are margaritas and beer, each for only $3. And these aren't small, wimpy, HH sized margaritas, they were full goblet sized and outstanding. I also had the HH Tater Boats and mushrooms. The tater skins were actually half potatoes with cheese, chives and bacon, very tasty. The mushrooms were crispy and served piping hot. The service was great, the bartender/waitress was friendly, prompt and professional. Overall, a fantastic Happy Hour spot. read more

In at 5pm for an early dinner.Seated immediately. Drink and entree order taken within a few minutes of being seated. I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye. The menu is quite extensive.I want to come again and try their seafood. Inside is kind of dark with a lot of wood. Music is playing at a nice volume to allow for conversation. It's actually pretty quiet inside. I liked that. Restroom was very clean and smelled freshly cleaned. They had real metal utensils, cloth napkins, and real ceramic plates. Nice! My salad plate was chilled. . I asked for Ranch dressing and I am pretty sure it was homemade. My salad was crisp and very fresh with no brown or weird pieces. The t also comes with bitter and biscuits. Even the green beans tasted homemade and were very fresh and flavorful. The steak was outstanding. Smoky, juicy, tender, and cooked as ordered, med rare. I am really glad I chose this restaurant for dinner tonight. I will definitely be back next month. read more

We arrived Sunday at approximately 1700. Was seated promptly. Very large menu which at times is a problem, too many choices. Wife got grilled chicken which was very tender and I'm looking forward to leftovers for lunch today. I had stuffed shrimp with crab meat. You could hardly find the shrimp for all the crab meat. All was very good. Annie was our server, she had a good personality and was very attentive. Typical rustic style steakhouse. Open grill to the side of dining area where food was cooked. Underwhelmed is an understatement. The decor in the room I was seated in was dark and old. The food was plain awful. I ordered chicken fried steak off of the lunch menu ($10.99) with sweet potato fries and a house salad as my sides. The steak must have been breaded and frozen ahead of time. It came out soggy, salty, and not tasting like much. This is an American restaurant! I thought for sure anything chicken fried would be fool proof. I was wrong. My sweet potato fries were oily, limp, and also soggy. Salad was ice berg lettuce with some toppings. My green goddess dressing tasted like and had the texture of butter. Gross! It's been a long time since I've eaten here so I had to give it another chance. Now I know why it's been so long. My Cowgirl (10oz) Prime Rib ordered medium rare was an overcooked Ribeye cut in half. Another excellent steakhouse in Corpus. They grill their steaks over an open flame with mesquite wood, which really adds a lot of flavor. Mesquite grilled steaks are a thing in South Texas. Generally always really good service as well. There have been a few times our steaks were over-cooked. read more

Ordered takeout because we were staying across the street. Chicken was cold like it just came out of the fridge. Steak tasted good but was hard to chew (cooked medium). Ordered broccoli and got onion rings. Not the worst but definitely not the caliber of food I was hoping for at this price point. read more

My wife and I were trying to think of something different to try and I remembered seeing Texas Flame while driving down SPID. We sat at the bar and service was great, that's why we sit there because service is so much better. Not sure why more couples don't do it. We ordered cheese sticks and fried mushrooms for apps, plus a side salad and a Caesar. Mushrooms were good with a light batter. The cheese sticks were not the best, a little hard. Both salads were good. Dinner rolls were very good, reminded us of Texas Roadhouse rolls. They have a very extensive menu, and we decided on the fettuccini with blackened chicken and the rib eye with sweet potato fries and onions and mushrooms. We enjoyed it. We ordered a lot of food and did not eat it all, portions are good. We will definitely be back. I see it is a good place for families. read more

I ordered the brisket and ribs and they were horrible. Ribs were cold and brisket was overheated in the microwave. Definitely not fresh. Stick to ribeye or something else that you know is coming straight off the grill. read more

Stopped in a for a dinner while in town for a few days of R&R. The food was delicious and 2nd to none. The only thing better than the food was the 1st class service. Victoria and Randy rolled out the red carpet. We were tended to like we were the only ones there. Margarita Mondays hit bottom and we will go back for Martini Tuesdays. Ordered the 6oz filet prepared medium rare with a side of blackened shrimp. The steak had a delightful taste of mesquite with each bite. Food was prepared perfectly and extremely flavorful. Went in on a Sunday afternoon. Got my party seated. Ordered the Fried Pickles and Cheese Sticks. Cheese Sticks were ok. Pickles were over cooked and tasted rubbery. Then our Salads soups came out. Nothing special. Soup looked like it just came out of a can. Then entres came. I had the Stuffed Flounder. It was so bad I could not finish eating it. My kids did not enjoy their meals also. The sign from the Road looked so amazing, but once your in. It's a sad dark atmosphere. PS they also charged my ticket for 18% Gratuity and the server asked for additional tip on top on that. Save you money and go to Golden Corrall..... it's cheaper and way better, sad to say. read more

Waitress said I could have blackened, fried or grilled chicken. I ordered blackened. Not available. One way. Manager came to talk to me. Well, if you review my posts you will see I rarely award a 1 star dining experience but the Texas Flame House knocked the cover off the ball. A few days ago my wife and I went to Corpus and we both ordered our usual "go to dish", the Prime Rib. To be frank, it was absolutely awful and way overpriced for 2 day or more leftover prime rib. As I type this warning, I realize now that I should have gone to the local hospital after dining here and gotten swabbed for the "food rape" by the Texas Flame House. To start, they actually served the Prime Rib not cool, but actually cold which is wrong on so many levels & a HUGE indication that they simply don't care about their food on any level. I'm guessing the root cause of this frozen tundra meat was due to the fact we actually ordered our prime rib, rare & they simply had no way of giving us a rare leftover cut. So the "solution" was just to warm it as little as possible so as not to cook the meat even more. Simply being honest that you could not serve rare or medium rare would have saved you from this horrid review, and your well earned 1 star rating but you did get $60 out of us for those 2 Tundra Frozen Woolly Mammoth cuts I suppose, well played. Obviously, the cut of meat was leftover from either the day or "week before" and clearly refrigerated. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they at least "attempted" to warm in it an oven, but it wouldn't surprise me if they simply put it in a microwave (a huge mistake for leftover prime rib) & inadvertently, set the timer wrong. The meat was tough, over cooked originally to medium (most places have no clue how to cook it either). I could rail on some of the awful sides as well but it's pointless, and they do not deserve the privilege of my insights & path forward to culinary excellence. The only positive to this experience was the friendly staff and our waitress, my wife & I both found everyone very nice & engaging. In closing, if you are a local resident & going to eat here, I suggest to sticking with a reasonably priced burger or something that at worse would be warm, non-refrigerated from the previous night, and maybe even "fresh" and as a bonus, "edible". If you are out of town and staying at one of the adjacent hotels next to this place I would highly suggest you find another local establishment that actually takes pride in the quality of their food, your palate and wallet will be grateful. read more

Our Steaks were put on cold plates which made them cold. The Mac and Cheese was from a box. The service was terrible. We couldn't get refills on alcohol and other drinks. The Server took 20 min to bring us the ticket. Never coming here again. I definitely like the sister Steakhouses better, Niko's and Ol'Steakhouse. read more

11/15/24 - First time in Corpus Christi and wanted to try a non-chain steakhouse....Y'ALLLLL......Texas Flame is ON POINT!!!! From the minute we walked in, we knew we made the right choice! The place was packed with "regular" customers - greeted by name when they walked in...that alone speaks volumes. The French Dip brought to the table was phenomenal and the steak tasted just like it smelled! Cooked to perfection, it pretty much ch melted in our mouths. Stopped in at this place on a whim while driving around. My server was Melanie who was freaking awesome! Kept the drinks come by and checked on me frequently. The filet was on point! Excellent flavor and cooked to perfection. I asked which was better, the green beans or the stewed zucchini. Melanie recommended the zucchini. I chanced it and it was so tasty! The side salad does come with bacon, which I don't eat. Melanie took care of it and brought me out a new salad with no issue. Dang, wish there was one of these where I live! If you wanna steak, do not come to this joint. Any of the meat is the bottom of the barrel cuts the bread. We dropped on the table and it knocked part of it off. The waitress was very sweet, but didn't have a clue about anything on the menu. I don't like to talk bad about restaurants but do not try this. My first time in the Flame for lunch today, I sat at the bar and ordered the 10 oz ribeye with shrimp. The bartender recommended I get the shrimp grilled, so I did. My two sides were house salad, mash and gravy. The salad came out fully loaded and super fresh. I was doubly surprised with the amount of ingredient (variety) in it, the cool temp and freshness. I ate it all. It's my new favorite place for salad. Next the main meal came out and it was surprisingly good as well, steak was rightly seasoned and the potatoes were delicious, I love it so much I even ate the Romain lettuce garnish and I normally never finish a meal. Service was nice and friendly. I'll definitely be back! If I try to critique anything it would be that the steak was a little thin. Next time I'll get the 12oz! Great food, good price!! read more

The service from the bartender was fantastic. She was very attentive and stayed on top of drinks. It's the food value that misses the mark. I had an 8 oz filet, Medium Rare , loaded baked potato, and salad. The salad was fresh and crisp, but would have been excellent if they would have spun the salad and got the water out. Instead, it was a good salad with a layer of water in the bowl. The filet was butterflied and over cooked, with an odd flavor. Almost like someone was trying to add a flavor instead of cooking it in. The baked potato was cooked well but the condiments were reduced to extra small paper cups that weren't enough to "load" the small potato. This review is meant to help improve an otherwise great business. As a note, I ran 3 successful steak restaurants that specialized in hand cut filets grilled over mesquite. Our server, Javier, was great! None of this is a reflection on him. It took awhile to get our food, & when we did, it was mediocre. My chopped sirloin was medium rare.....& I had ordered it medium well. The mushroom gravy (which in my experience is brown gravy) was more like cream of mushroom soup (white with mushrooms). Wings were quite greasy. Here's the strangest... every table gets a bowl of giant croutons & a bowl of some white dip that resembled tasteless tartar sauce to dip them in. Weird! Not real tasty but something to nibble on I guess. Not impressed. The steak had good flavor & texture....just wish it wasn't nearly raw inside. read more

The only reason I'm giving the three stars is for our server; she was really nice and attended to our every needs. Food however was the absolute worst. Nobody at our table enjoyed their dish. I got the Cajun shrimp pasta which I'm assuming they use frozen and mushroom from a can, my dad got the ground sirloin which came with green beans and mash potatoes that looked like they came from a school cafeteria, it was either too salty or too bland. My mom got baby back ribs (appetizer) flavor was good but very dry. The vibe there was very Texas/cowboy themed which was nice and lighting was good just wished it was a little brighter. Great as always! I used to live in Corpus and ate at this place at least once a week. I've been gone from Texas for so long , but in a quick trip to Corpus we stopped by and the steaks are better than I remembered. The steaks are tender and flavorful. The food is always fresh.
