I came to Lang with my contractor looking to replace my old Storm Windows and was pleasantly surprised with the excellent service we received! Jan was super helpful and knowledgable. Rather than simply selling me what I came in for, she took the time to educate me on why I might be making a big mistake by putting up new Storm's instead of buying replacement windows. She spent 15-20 minutes explaining the pro's and con's and gave me a detailed price breakdown on both options (I was shocked to learn that the price difference was nominal). After considering what she said (and taught me), we've decided to make the investment in replacement windows instead of wasting our money on new Storm's. Jan could have quickly sold me the storms and moved onto the next customer but she was willing to take the time to educate me and make a thoughtful recommendation. I'm not sure where these negative reviews come from. My contractor (who has worked with Lang for decades) raves about this company and I had an excellent experience with them. read more

Janet was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the entire process. First, it became clear that plans were not being properly reviewed or understood. Perhaps some training would help the staff. Second, the company refused to provide a formal written quote for review and approval before requesting credit card information and processing payment, which is a highly unusual and concerning. All pricing was communicated verbally, with no written quote provided. As a result, the quoted price (after some modifications) changed twice when it came time to make payment vs what we were told verbally. When these concerns were raised, Janet became hostile, disrespectful, and argumentative rather than addressing the issue professionally. We ultimately decided to go with a competitor and that's when Janet lost it. Customer service is a fundamental part of doing business. Treating potential customers with respect, providing transparent pricing, and communicating professionally should be the minimum standard. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company. Tim & Darb need to address is because they just lost at least 200 window sales from us alone. 1. Do your job. You're the window expert, not us. 2. Treat every customer with RESPECT. 3. Accept that this is a COMPETITIVE MARKET. read more

I purchased a home in 2019 that had Lang pocket windows installed around 2001. I had several thermal pane seals that had failed and were foggy on the inside. I called Lang to inquire about replacing the insulated glass units that had failed. They were very nice when I spoke with them on the phone and let me know that I could drop them off in the morning and they would be ready by afternoon. As these windows were at the end of their life, I can't say if they were good when they were purchased. All were vinyl horizontal sliding windows and 2 were double-hung windows with a picture window in the center. Many of the sashes had air leakage where the sashes met making the house extremely cold. My furnace is a modulating furnace so it does not run at full speed most of the time. My house was extremely drafty. I have opted for full frame window replacement with wooden windows that have aluminum clad exterior. After 4 winters of freezing cold bedrooms, I caught a break and had the second floor windows replaced in all bedrooms last December. Half way through the project, I decided to have the first floor replaced this year. That was the best decision ever. Not sure I'd make a recommendation to anyone to purchase Lang products. read more

We've been using Lang Exterior windows on all of our projects for over 5 years now. Never had an issue. And you can't beat their prices. Lead time is only 7-10 days (comparing to 4 weeks wait on Jeld-Wen or Sierra Pacific). Their customer service is great: always very patient, knowledgeable and helpful. Our contractor accidentally broke the glass on one of the window sashes and they got it replaced within a day. It saved us so much time and money! Highly recommend them. read more

I thought they were going to be a cheaply made, short-term solution for my construction project. The customer service associated with this company at BOTH LOCATIONS is BEYOND HORRIBLE. My contractor and I contacted the Pulaski location and requested to speak to a Supervisor. WE WERE IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP ON! WE SPOKE TO CHRISTINE, THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE, AND SHE HUNG UP ON US FOUR TIMES! AND SUPPOSEDLY SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF THE OWNER! We contacted the location on 59th street and spoke to the office manager, Fran. ONCE AGAIN, FRAN HUNG UP ON US! We called 2 additional times and requested to speak to the owner and was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. As of yet, we could not get through to a Supervisor or the owner. BUYER BEWARE! IF THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT YOU AS A NEW CUSTOMER IMAGINE HOW THEY WILL TREAT YOU IF YOU RUN INTO PROBLEMS WITH THEIR WINDOWS! I have been buying windows from Lang Exterior for over 10 years. I typically purchase their entry level vinyl windows for apartments. They are solid and well built and the price can't be beat. Every once in awhile when I have a large order, I price check them against other wholesalers and Lang has always been the most competitive. They have provided accurate delivery times as well, even though they do vary - I assume based on the amount of backlog they have. Would recommend them to anyone. read more

Lang hides behind what it refers to as its contract, albeit a worthless piece of paper dependent on what happens after you leave the store. Lang promised a product, produced another, yet stood firm that it made no mistake. Lang's inability to admit to even the possibility of an error on its part translates into no recourse for its customers. There are other very good and honorable local businesses that provide much better products and service. Look elsewhere, do not consider Lang Exteriors. read more
