There is something to be said about some Hawaii Kai vendors. Even though you pay for extra ingredients to get a large size, they skimp out on portions and add more ice instead to make a large that is an inch below the top of the cup. Java da hut (3/5): flavor was quite unique. Tasted much like a mocha which makes sense since it's espresso, and chocolate. Love Lanikai Juice and pretty much their entire menu offerings as it's all made to order with fresh ingredients and though we do love their various açaí bowl when I do absolutely love are their juices. This Hawaii Kai Town Center location is great with lots of parking though being closer to Costco part of the lot does have the struggle for parking but with just a few extra steps there's lots of free parking and nothing is better than that besides their drinks. Walking into this spacious shop I immediately noticed their 10% weekly promo taking one item from each section (Bowl, Juice and Smoothie) and was so happy to see Dr. P.A.G.O. juice being one of them making it easy choice and my usual go to option whenever I need that extra energy. P.A.G.O. stands for Pineapple, Apple, Ginger and Orange and it's all in this sip which is so yummy. The staff here is very friendly and efficient as they reminded me of points that you're able to earn with each purchase and once I got my drink I actually decided to take a moment in their air conditioned shop at one of their table which already made my day that much better. Super hot and humid day-we needed a cool and refreshing lunch. Walked by this place dozens of times and it was a perfect day to check it out. It's located in the Hawaii Kai Towne center, near the center. They are renovating the Starbucks next door so parking is kinda of tough. There was a special with 10% off some bowls so I got the Extravaganza in the large size. My friend got the colada. I also added honey for $1 extra. It was huge and heavy filled with açaí, strawberries, blueberries, coconut, almonds, banana slices, granola. Dang! It was good. My friend's Colada had pineapple, banana coconut topping. She gave it thumbs up A little pricey IMO- was about $15.49 (large) for mine, $14.75 for the Colada (not including the 10% off) but it was huge and we were plenty full after eating the bowl. Since the days are still hot, I just may come to get another! BTW- they don't charge the 3% merchant credit card fee that many other businesses are. read more

This was the first time ever I visited Lanikai juice in Hawaii Kai, it's a Saturday morning, I had a rare taste for an açai bowl so I jumped in my car drove over. It's pretty dark on the inside it only has a couple of tables not much to talk about but they have tables outside. Walked up to the counter met a young lady that didn't say hello, good morning, didn't smile, nothing! I ignored it and ordered my large açaí extravaganza bowl. My order was ready in an instant so I walked back talk to the young lady and paid, she asked me if I wanted her printed receipt, I said no and she just turned her back, walked back to her friends and started talking with them, no thank you, have a nice day..NOTHING!! This behavior is a reflection on Lanikai juice's owner and the brand. I'm not sure they actually read reviews on yelp but I thought I'd leave one anyway so that folks will be aware that on the weekends Customer Service is not what it should be. This is my first time to Lanikai juices Hawaii Kai and it's probably going to be the last for this reason. The Açaí bowl was delicious I just wish it was served with a better attitudes. I keep hearing help is hard to find these days but the real issue is finding GOOD help. I don't typically complain about a drink and just know to not order it again, but it was at least $10 so i asked if i could get something else in replace of it, but they do not honor that! Been here and other locations many of times. I have always bought açaí bowls from here. I was told to modify the base of the bowl I need to order a lager bowl, so I have always ordered a lager bowl. Today while ordering my usual lager açaí bowl to customize how I like it. The employee said we don't do that because we would have to make the base from scratch. I told them I know I will wait, and pay the extra charges like before. She then gets her manager then the manager tells me we don't customize the açaí bowls unless a food allergy. They were great to address some allergy concerns but then accidentally added banana to my açaí bowl, an item not listed on the menu. And while as gorgeous as the presentation was and it was. It looked beautiful and delicious could I and if I liked bananas. I don't and I can't. It's another allergen. So I went back to have it remade. The staff seemed confused. So there may need to be a menu update or simply an invite for more presence/training. I waited in a moderately long line, and they made as new one. Except this time, presentation and ratios were off. By the time I got it, I was already late, and to have it addressed there simply was not time, desire or capacity to; especially given that the line now reached the door and the two attendants were clearly at or maxed at capacity. So hire more people and take the time to get the order right. Mediums are almost $12 so it should be a good experience and getting food right for people with allergies is a must. I've been coming to this juicery in Hawaii kai for a while now, and while the food itself is decent, the customer service has consistently lacked any effort to build real relationships -- even with loyal customers. I noticed this when the manager changed. She is always there but zero how are you and zero greetings but knows me since I come so much. The last time I came in, I ordered a bowl, and, I accidentally tripped and dropped it. Instead of offering any kind of understanding or support, they told me I'd have to pay for it again. No empathy, no "are you okay?", no aloha -- just "that'll be another charge." This might be acceptable at a chain on the mainland, but in Hawaiʻi, that kind of reaction is not how we do things. I've been to other local smoothie shops where, if something happens, they treat you like family esp if they know you well and are a regular-- they check in, they remake your drink or bowl, no questions asked. That's aloha. This place? Just a focus on money. No warmth, no sense of community, and no effort to connect. For a business in Hawaiʻi, that's disappointing. read more

The man who waited on me was very friendly and even recommended his favorite as I have never had an acai bowl before. Its a little hard for me to critique the food but the service was good. I promptly received my bowl. I ordered the bowl with peanut butter and I guess I was expecting a softer consistency, more like a yogurt but it was more like sorbet. No indoor dining allowed, but luckily there were some seats open nearby in the shopping plaza. I ordered the Matcha Protein Bowl and my bf ordered the Acai Superfood. The matcha was delicious, but the consistency was very watery. It felt like I just had granola toppings over a green smoothie. The acai was on the sour side, so not my cup of tea. I personally love acai bowls with ample toppings, and I felt like Lanikai could have been more generous with theirs, especially since the base itself is watery. In the end, I was basically drinking it LOL. I feel like there are better places to go for Acai, in all honesty. Cute ambience, the music is always pumping with some kind of upbeat dance music and the workers always friendly and greet you right when you walk in. My kids loooooove this place. I really like it because they have kid size in both smoothies and açaí bowls. I typically get either the Dr. Greens, Kailua monkey, or golden glow. My kids love the original açaí bowl or the I love berries. Also- they HAVE to get a banana bread every time we go.. it's so yummy and moist. Lucky us, when we walk by it said that they were offering a 20% off discount. I've heard some good things about Lanikai Juice but I've never been there. We got two smoothies. My daughter and I shared the Strawberry Shaka. It's made of strawberry, banana, pineapple juice, and honey. My husband got one of their popular smoothies called Kailua Monkey. The Kailua Monkey had banana, peanut butter, honey, soy milk, and your choice of either vegan protein or whey protein. If you opt for whey protein, you can either choose chocolate or vanilla. Our Strawberry Shaka was okay. Kind of just tastes like a drink that you could get at Jamba Juice. But because I was sharing with my daughter, I didn't want to get too extreme flavors for her. She enjoyed drinking it. It was refreshing. I tasted my husband's Kailua Monkey before I gave it to him and it was very peanut buttery. If you love peanut butter, this is the smoothie for you. This smoothie is full of protein so maybe it'll be good after a workout. Lanikai Juice also sells other things besides juices, smoothies, and açaí.
