    Medium açaí bowl
    Jennifer K.

Since my initial review 12 years ago, much has changed. For one, Vita Juice is now under new management. Not so much new I guess, as according to the owners, they bought the place a few years ago. The owners are super friendly, with the wife working in the back and the husband up front taking orders. On my first visit back, I tried the strawberry and peach smoothie, which was blended perfectly. According to the owner, avocado and mango is their best selling smoothie, so that's on my to-try list. He also shared that their acai bowls are the best on the island, so of course I returned today for an acai bowl. No longer $7 these days; a medium acai bowl is now $12. Can you believe I thought $7 was expensive 12 years ago? The owners shared that they don't source their acai from Sambazon (despite the sign still being up at their shop), as Sambazon has added sugar in their acai blends. Their acai blends do not include added sugar, other than the natural sugars as well as the sweetness you get from the honey of course. The acai bowl included what appeared to be an entire banana, a heaping amount of strawberries and blueberries, crunchy granola, and just the right amount of honey. There's a lot of fruit but less acai than I expected. This was the first time I had to ration the acai towards the end, rather than the fruit. The acai was definitely a lot icier than I prefer. I didn't care for it much at first because of how icy it is. But as I was finishing the bowl, I found myself wishing I had more because as the acai began melting, it started tasting creamier and yummier. Although this was a solid acai bowl, I'm not sure if I would say it's the best I've had. It's definitely high up there though - I especially liked that the acai was not too sweet. I think I'll have to try it again, and maybe let it melt more before eating. When the acai was icy, there was not much flavor. The flavor came out more as it was melting so i think it'll taste a lot better if I let it sit and melt a bit.

Another late post, This is another little spot that I pass by often during lunch. I like Acai Bowls and decided to treat myself. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, super plus! They have a few bowl and smoothie choices, but I just stuck to their original but large. Acai Bowl: 9/10. The fruits were large, ripe, and nothing was Tart. The blueberries were exceptionally good. Also, their honey was nice and not too sweet or overpowering. Why not a 10/10? The acai at the bottom had that frozen, unfrozen, frozen again sort of texture with a little ice in each bite. While not as smooth as some other spots, everything else as a whole was quite good. Another local business with grgreat service and good products. Support local businesses and give them a try!

Smoothies vary between medium and large. A medium size is more than sufficient for me. Total was $19 sum. The service was pretty quick & the man at the front desk was very nice. The inside was clean. A small shop.

I think the acai is good value - loaded up with fresh, ripe fruit. The acai is a bit icy but I actually don't mind it since I'm always grabbing it on the go, and it's quick and melts a bit by the time I eat it, so I actually prefer this. It's $12.50 for the medium bowl, which I think is larger than other smoothie shops. The shop owners are pleasant and efficient, but my main complaint is that they don't open on time. There's been multiple times that I stop by before work when they should be open at 8 AM, but they are not. I've waited around for a bit with a few other people who also ended up leaving. Otherwise, I'd give a 5 star review.

Love this place inexpensive compared to other places great flavors very fresh. Its a small local place so nothing like a Starbucks or anything but would 100 percent recommend coming here. Service was amazing!

Smoothie for breakfast in Downtown, Honolulu, Hawaii... I was walking back to my car after grocery shopping on Fort Street Mall when I realized that I hadn't had breakfast yet. Mind you - when I get free parking in Downtown, I'm going to make good use of my time since I parked rather "far away"... (About two long blocks in the humidity and sunshine...) I saw the signs for Vita Juice and remembered that I had met the original owner at her new shop (with a different business name). I thought that I should compare... So, I ordered the Super Green Smoothie that I had at the "new" location. I don't know how they make healthy kale and spinach taste better... Maybe the honey, avocado, and banana have something to do with it? Yup! The taste was pretty good and helped me cool off during the long walk back to the car. Service made this cozy shop more welcoming! The gal seemed very appreciative of my business. The guy was efficient - he took my order and asked if I wanted non-dairy milk... Yes, please!

Pineapple-banana fresh fruit smoothie (with boba at bottom)! It's a nice light yellow color!

Been here twice and loved it! First time I happened to be in the area after picking up my Döner Shack order, I ordered two drinks from this place, a blueberry-strawberry fresh fruit smoothie and a mango fresh fruit smoothie, both unfortunately without boba. I forgot to order the boba. What?! :P So I spotted this place on my way to the aforementioned Döner Shack. It looked nice and clean despite the Downtown Chinatown surroundings so I thought, "..if I'm ever in the area again in need of some fresh fruit infusion, I'm gonna make it a point to stop right there." Well, after walking to Döner Shack to place my order, waiting for it, then walking back past this store, I decided, "what the heck (let's try it). It was that time for some fresh fruit snack :D This store did not disappoint. I was satisfied with the response I received about the fresh fruit mango used. The owner said it was nice frozen mango fruit that is delicious. At the same time, I ordered a second drink. Didn't take long for his wife the other owner to prepare and deliver the drinks to the husband order-taking owner. He put my drinks individually into plastic bags and into a carrier, and off I went. A short way down the street, the carrier began to break at the handle so I carried these drinks like a baby :D When I told the husband owner about this at my second recent visit, he said he was surprised but then changed my drinks carrier to a much better more secure divided plastic bag. My second visit to Döner Shack produced two more drinks from this store again on my way from Döner Shack. They were a blueberry-banana fresh fruit smoothie and a pineapple-banana fresh fruit smoothie, and this time, both with yummy boba. Blueberry-strawberry smoothie: tangy and light Blueberry-banana smoothie: creamy blueberry delight Mango smoothie: slightly tangy half ripe fresh fruit mango for sure! Pineapple-banana: creamy mild pineapple. Yummy! Unexpectedly, my fav here is the pineapple-banana concoction. The banana adds a nice creaminess, to soften and enhance the pineapple. I liked the other flavors a lot but this one sure hits my fruit spot! Not ever too sweet and very fresh-fruit tasting. The boba is nice and firm, and perfectly chewy. Cost is $17 for two large fresh fruit drinks with boba. A bit expensive for the size. If you are in the area, please give these smoothies a try! Nice owners; clean store; easy to find; yummy product. Parking: If you need parking, consider the municipal parking lot not too far a couple blocks down the street past Döner Shack on the right. Cost is nominal and much cheaper than street parking. Street parking in the area is also available but is paid during the day and free after 630pm and on weekends. I want try the acai bowls next time I'm in the area!

I usually frequent the L&L right next door. I was craving a smoothie so I figured I try this place. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Initially wanted to order a Mango Smoothie (real fruit, btw!). I was suggested a Mango Avocado smoothie since another customer tried it and said it was delicious. I'm so glad I took the suggestion! One day I'll try the açai bowl!

The service is great, the owners are very friendly. Just recently popped in and got a blueberry banana smoothie. The flavor was 10/10 and the boba in the smoothie was very soft. I would definitely recommend coming here as they always use fresh fruits.

In Chinatown during the week and this place is part of my morning routine. Helps me get through my day on a weekly basis. The Acai Bowls here are always delicious and always consistent. I ask for added coconut and it's never a problem and adds that extra something . Bento boxes, sandwiches, and Spam,Hotdog,Chkn Musubi are always fresh. Make sure to ask for her homemade hot sauce if you like a little added kick to your food..They offer smoothies, milk tea, and plenty of other tasty things as well. #SupportSmallBusiness Highly recommend

Super late review -…read more I'm sad. I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. I don't want to be that person when this place has an overall rating of 4.5 but this is just my honest opinion. I got the blue dream and yes it was very ascetically pleasing, but it was just too icy. Before coming to this place i read a couple of reviews that also said the same thing and i didn't understand what that meant, but now I do. There are a lot of flavorless, just regular, small shards of ice in the bowl. On top of that, the moment I received my bowl, it was already borderline melted. So that got me thinking, how can it be melted and icy at the same time? The only explanation that I can think of is just ice additive/fillers. It's not pure cold acai or whatever is in the bowl you choose, but there's a mixture of ice in it too. Yes I understand, it's Waikiki, everything is more expensive, but the added topping prices on top of the already expensive bowl prices just don't make sense. You want a beautiful looking bowl with a lot of different toppings, yet some toppings can go up to 1 dollar PER topping. I don't know if I've just been spoiled by a couple places in SoCal, but at those places they have unlimited toppings and those bowls are the best that there is. I'm not bringing any bias from other locations, but this is just an honest review based on my experience today.
