Not sure what all the fuss is about. This is pretty much a local pizza joint ... a bit fancier than your local pizza parlour in that they have a nice deck area, but I didn't detect any difference in the pizza from the place near me at home. Having said that, from a quality standpoint they are always on point. Maybe that is why they get so many high reviews. Some yelpers rave about this pizza as if it were the best they ever had. It's pretty much your typical Greek-type pizza ... crispy but thicker crust. Your average pizza parlour cheese. Your average pizza parlour toppings. I guess maybe in a town full of 'upscale' and 'artisean' pizzas (Cornerstone's pizzas start at $20 and feature things like lobster and mango on the same pizza) the fact that this is a low-cost, no-frills pizza joint makes it stand out. We didn't have a bad meal here. But I didn't see any difference from the local pizza place in any town I've ever lived in or visited. If you are looking for a trusty tried and true place and aren't looking for a 'signature dining experience' ... it seems that this is the place where the locals go. And although the pizza here wasn't dazzling ... it was consistant and the service was good every time we went. The only bad thing is that there is an ally next to the restaurant that looks like it leads to parking behind the building and once you go down that ally, its like being stuck in a Venus Fly trap. You have a tough time backing out the long ally filled with bikes, etc. There is no parking down that ally behind the building. It is street parking only, where you can find it. (which in Ogunquit during the busy season ... isn't easy to do.) read more

I have been coming to this area for over 20 years but have never gotten anything from this place ... until this year. It was so good! I have too very picky kids - one has a sensory diet and the other is a vegetarian. They were both able to find a pizza that suited their tastes and were very happy with their decisions (as were my hubby and other son who got leftovers). I do not have any issues but I opted for the chicken parm with pasta. It is so easy to make this simple dish wrong but they did it very well. The sauce was not a tasteless tomato but had some good robust tomato taste. The chicken was not overly breaded or cooked to an inch of its life. The pasta was fresh and the chicken was not dried out and both were flavorful. My daughter wanted to know what took us so long to try this place ... not sure, but we will not ignore it again! read more

Sadly LaPizzeria's white pizza was dry and tasteless even with pepperoni. Having enjoyed many white pizzas from NYC and Connecticut pizzerias, I can diagnose the problem: not enough cheese. On the positive side, the pizza was delivered on time tho a bit tepid requiring reheating. The later would not have dried it out given sufficient cheese. read more

Mama Mia ... We hit this gem as we were driving north to Kennebunk, Maine and we were so amazed on how wonderful the pizza and pasta dishes were and very affordable for families !!! We had a nice experience here on a Saturday night on the patio. Our waitress Callie was very nice and we enjoyed our meal. The meatballs were excellent and the pizza was very good too although if you like a lot of cheese on your pizza I recommend ordering extra cheese. Overall a good choice. read more

I have been coming to Ogunquit virtually my entire life, and in all those visits I don't think I ever had a meal that wasn't seafood-centric. But tonight we decided we weren't that hungry for dinner so opted to go for pizza instead, and based on proximity and positive reviews we chose this place. Service was very fast and friendly, and the dishes we ordered were very good--salads to start and two pizzas, one cheese and one with caramelised onions, mushroom and cherry tomatoes, as our main. The pizzas had good firm bases and a decent char, just how we like them. They do have seafood toppings available so you need not forego that Maine experience to dine here, but if you need a break from lobster rolls and the like, this is a good choice. read more

We had dined at La Pizzeria on two previous occasions during vacations in Ogunquit. Those were very good experiences. Not so much on our last visit in September 2019 (sorry so late with the posting of this review). The food this time was so subpar that we had to wonder if something drastic had happened here, like new owners or management. We ordered the same combination pizza we had twice before (meatball and ricotta), this time with much different results. Instead of being topped with nice big slices of tasty meatballs and ample dollops of ricotta, this pizza had a scant amount of small, hard meat nuggets which were hard to discern if they were indeed "meatballs." The ricotta was also stingy. The pizzas were worlds apart. We also shared a so-called "antipasto for two" salad---what a pathetic rendition that was! This very un-composed and unattractive plate full of mostly iceberg lettuce contained a whopping 2 small slices of deli meat, 1 slice of cheese, 2 unripe tomato wedges and a couple of olives---all on a too-small dinner plate, and all for what I thought was too much---$12.95. Service was extremely slow as well. The next evening we had much better food at Ogunquit House of Pizza, across the street from our hotel. We'll give La Pizzeria a miss the next time we're on vacation in Ogunquit. read more

Labor Day weekend brought tons of tourists to the shore town. Every restaurant was jam packed for the first time since Covid had start and we were fearful of wait times upon heading into town for dinner. LaPizzeria never disappoints though! We were seated within minutes after being turned away from two restaurants beforehand. Service was prompt and friendly! We ordered a large pizza for the table (of 3) and a few salads to go around! Simple but done very well. Especially the pizza, great sauce and perfect amount of cheese! Sangria was good too! Fast and easy which was exactly what we needed for the night. Second I felt rushed the entire time, as well as, staff was removing plates before we could finish eating. Garlic bread with Mozz topped was so aromatic and full of flavor, an of course being in Maine we got the Lobster pizza. Enjoyed the pizza from the sauce to to lobster bits to the delicious crush. The waitress was inattentive to our party and spent the entire time chatting with a couple and talking about email and her new cell phone, etc. Mozzarella sticks were $7 and tasted like a freezer. Soggy and really bad. Burger King has better mozzarella sticks. They were totally a cheap bagged freezer brand. The food was edible, but I definitely spent the rest of the night in the bathroom, which leads me to believe the ingredients were not that fresh. Cheese on a turkey wrap was 50 cents extra. Sodas were $3 with no free refills. We spent over thirty dollars for sodas and a couple of sandwiches and the nasty mozzarella blobs. Terrible all around. I actually felt sorry for a couple who came in right after us. I felt guilty to not tell them how horrible it was. I would not send my worst enemy here. read more

My husband and I go to Ogunquit once or twice a year and have eaten here a few times. Generally, we try to eat someplace with seafood so we often pass La Pizzeria over. The last time (before this past weekend) we ate here was about 3 or 4 years ago. We remembered the pizza being very good but we were either wrong (undeveloped taste buds?) or something has changed because the pizza from this weekend was not something I would ever want to eat again....and I am pretty forgiving about pizza because I love it. We sat outside, which was nice, and we had a very nice waitress. The service was excellent and fast. This was the reason for the 2 stars. We ordered half chicken and artichoke and half hamburg and onion. The hamburg and chicken both tasted like they were cooked a week ago and heated up to throw on our pizza....or it was not meat at all. It was really that bad. I am not about to throw a pizza under the bus...as I said, I love pizza but these toppings destroyed these pies. The sauce was pretty good and had some spice to it and the dough was okay. This was our first time eating food from this place. We ordered out and had placed an order for a large white lobster pizza and a kids stuffed ravioli order. Drove to pick it up and was greeted cordially by a waitress/greeter. My order was ready as promised and asked for ice, a little more than a cup. The guy gave me a full plastic cup with lid and a small bag both with ice. He went out of his way, and I really appreciated it. My wife and I ate the pizza and really enjoyed it. I reserve 5 star reviews for places like this. I've been coming here for 10 years and the food and service remains outstanding. The inside is small, but comfortable. Outside seating gives you a lovely view of downtown Ogunquit. I've only ever tried the pizza there because it is so good I never want to try anything else! Servers and managers are friendly and accommodating. Pizzas are usually ready for takeout in 10 to 15 minutes. Parking can be challenging, but that is the case with all restaurants in downtown Ogunquit. read more

As with most places in this area the place gets jammed with people and it's a tight fit. Nonetheless the service is really good. Even better the pizza is outstanding. I'm not 100% sure but I think the pizza may be wood or coal fired. It at least has the look and taste like it is. The dough is really good and all the topping ingredients are fresh, making for a very tasty pizza. I especially liked the sausage. As I mentioned the inside it tight but decorated nicely.
