There was an actual NYC rat in the surgical waiting room I was placed in. Before I get into my review, PLEASE STOP AND LOOK CLOSELY AT HER INSTAGRAM. Skin care line IG: nearly 50k followers. Posts averaging ~20 likes or 300 views. Surgical IG: nearly 530k followers (...). Posts averaging ~100 likes. Nearly all of her followers if you scroll through look like fake accounts. A few days old. Little activity. It is misleading. Even if you don't read my review, I hope you decide against trusting a Dr. that gets fake followers on IG. I am copying another reviewer here, Jill S (thanks for the idea), and I want to be clear that the stars do NOT reflect my experience with Dr. Lara Devgan. I am giving four stars so the platform will not push my review down. I honestly never, ever leave online reviews. This is my first. But now that I am well past six months out from my Labiaplasty procedure with Dr. Lara Devgan, I felt inclined to create a Yelp account (not sure if it is saying my location is San Francisco as it seemed to for me.. but I am located in NY area near Dr. Devgan's office). Like any procedure, this was a highly personal one. It was something I put a LOT of thought into for many years before actually deciding on a surgeon and scheduling a surgery date. Despite all of that research, in the end I made a HUGE mistake. What was that mistake? Believing that the INSANELY inflated price Dr. Devgan presented to me and the INSANELY inflated and appealing social media presence she has indicated that she was more qualified than other surgeons. Despite the insanely high prices here, this place treats you like a second class citizen all the way through. At least they did me. Which was disappointing for me given I just signed away a huge amount of money that I had been saving for this procedure for years (plus quite a bit... given her price was like at least $5k more than any other Doctor I consulted with). So, it was not a fancy experience. It was not even a baseline comfortable experience. I mean, I get it, she's a Doctor and is busy. But this wasn't normal. Hear me out. When you arrive the day of an incredibly personal surgery that you are feeling nervous about, it is quite a huge bummer to be shuffled around from different random makeshift waiting areas without so much as a kind word from any person present. I waited 1 hour to even see a nurse. She then escorted me down some stairs to an eery basement area with temporary looking walls separating three rooms. Zero decorations. Just a basement. She brought me in one and told me to put on a surgical gown and wait. Then 1.5 hours later she came down. She put numbing cream on me. It was very awkward and she did not have bedside manners. Told me it would be 45 minutes before Dr. Devgan came and did numbing injections pre surgery (Okay thats fine, I thought, it needs 45 mins to set in). Well, 45 mins passed. An hour. At two hours I was freezing in the basement, a full on NYC RAT was running around the floor and disappearing in and out of this wall thing in my waiting room. I felt on the verge of panic attack - second guessing the entire thing. I literally used my cell phone to call the front desk a few floors up from me to try to get SOMEONE to come help me. The nurse came back ten minutes later (yes at that point I was watching time down to the minute). Told me it'd be a "little longer". No apology. Then Dr. Devgan came. It all happened extremely fast after that. She barely spoke to me. I mean I really hate leaving a scathing review, especially of a person and her practice. But this didn't feel right from start to end. My legs were shaking uncontrollably from being freezing and also from having been stuck in a frog leg position for 2+ hours downstairs (not ideal to have shaking legs for this particular surgery...) She made a big thing of having me tell her music I like so they could "curate" a Spotify playlist for me. Then, they put on a generic Taylor Swift playlist the entire surgery (I didn't even mention TS - although I do like her, just didn't exactly opt in to listening to Love Story as my labia were getting operated on). I had told them the sight of blood often makes me faint. They didn't even ATTEMPT to clean off the floor/surgical area before making me stand straight up abruptly so the nurse could put my clothes on me in a rushed manner. Clearly had another appointment that was also behind schedule and wanted me out. They literally stuffed an ice pack in my sweatpants and told me to walk straight out the lobby. "A nurse will check on you tomorrow by phone". No nice words. No offer to let me recover for a little somewhere at the office (I mean, not that I would have - there's a rat in their recovery area). Oh - the results. Not even worth getting into or I will cry :( and there's been enough tears the past 6 months. Let's just say I am now spending more money on a revision with somebody else. This review is long overdue. I found Dr. Devgan on instagram and was impressed of the videos of procedures and the fact that some celebs have gone to her. I agreed to go in for the $500 consultation. I had plenty of questions about different injection sites and skin treatments but decided to go with the tear through injections with volbella(her recommendation). This was a $2,500 procedure which is very expensive but I went for it with faith that she had the expertise and would not let me down. But I was wrong! The injections did not hurt. Immediately after, before I had the chance to really view my face, she pulled out her phone and I allowed her to post a Snapchat of me saying that I was satisfied with the procedure which I wish I could take back! I then looked back in the mirror and noticed immediately that my right trough looked filled but my left one did not. I mentioned it to her and she said it would take 3 weeks to see result. Which I don't understand why I was seeing the clear result on my right but not my left. 1st , 2nd and 3rd week passed but absolutely nothing changed. It was obvious that the injected filler in my left side was not placed where it needed to be or simply did not get enough filler as the right side. You don't need any kind of medical training or expertise to notice such a thing. I am still SO upset that I paid the amount of money in effort to have it done the right way and she did not deliver. I scheduled the follow up to explain to her all of above in hopes that she would do something to fix it. I waited 1hr and 15min before the girl put me in the room. I explained my concerns and she left and came back in 3x... I could tell that she was speaking with Dr. Devgan in between. 40 mins later I got so upset and demanded to see the doctor! Then Devgan came in and gave me two options 1. Pay full price for the procedure again 2. Nothing at all. She gave me a complete run around as to why one side was deeper than the other. I explained to her that I know this and the left side clearly needed more filler OR you just didn't place it properly and she continued the run around of aesthetics. I was looking her right in her eye watching her do everything but ADMIT that she did not address my tear troughs properly and causing asymmetry. She speaks very kindly but her actions told me otherwise - I was speechless, my eyelids swelled with water and she just stared at me as I cried. She didn't seem to feel bad about how dissatisfied I was and explained to me that the procedure is expensive because of her "expertise" and I responded with I KNOW. That's why I came here and I don't know why you won't correct it. One eye still has a deep line while the other is filled which makes my face as a whole look "off". My experience with Dr. Devgan was one of the worst things I have ever had to go through in my entire life. I falsely believed that due to her high profile instagram presence and the fact that her prices are 20%++ higher than anyone else's that I would get the best care and the best results possible. I could not have been more wrong. I hired her to do abdominoplasty, breast lift, mons lift and flank liposuction. Everything she did will have to be redone. I am left with horrible scarring and severe trauma, not only from my body being completely disfigured, but also from the way in which I have been treated by her and the way I was discharged by her and her staff. I have attached some photos of the final results on my body 1.5 years after surgery. They speak for themselves. My body has been left uneven and with severe scarring. When confronted about this Dr. Devgan criticized me and my body for the way it healed. She also displayed extreme negligence in the way I was discharged and the aftercare I received. To be brief, Dr. Devgan was 7 months pregnant during my surgery, which I only found out about the day before surgery, I was given my consent forms, while naked, minutes before going into surgery. The day of the surgery itself I was expected to walk out the surgery room and down a set of stairs. When I was unable to do so, because I was still under the influence of the anesthesia and already in extreme pain, no one seemed to know how to handle the situation. They said that "everyone always just walks out" and that this "had never happened before," giving me the impression that they had NEVER performed a full body surgery of this magnitude. They subsequently, haphazardly rushed me out through the freight elevator and the basement of the building when I was unable to walk out for obvious reasons. The sheer fact that they expected me to walk out of the surgery room after having abdominoplasty, breast lift, mons lift and flank liposuction, is alarming, then the results of the surgery itself and the fact that Devgan actually blamed ME for how it turned out has turned this into an ongoing, expensive and traumatic experience. Particularly, one of my breasts is in constant pain after having developed a serious blister and hole that leaked puss for several months. Please heed my words and see someone else for any work you want to get done. As other reviewers here have said, she only cares about money and fame and not the client at all. I imagine that she is not very experienced in the type of surgery I paid her for and she should have referred me to someone more suitable for me and my body type, but instead she chose to take my money and didn't care how it actually turned out. I went for fillers. She overcharged me, she does not discuss prices. More insidious was the way she upsold me. She pointed out what was wrong with my face, which at 26 years old, was apparently everything. I'd never gotten fillers before in my life and I felt totally overwhelmed -- not knowing what to agree to or how much it all would cost -- information she purposefully ignores and rushes through. Notably, she never mentioned possible complications, migration, late reactions, or any kind of side effects from the procedure. The whole thing was over in less than 10 minutes. She ultimately overfilled me terribly and as a result, a few weeks after the appointment, I developed a severely puffy face. i went back to her asking for her to dissolve some of the filler and she refused to help me, telling me that my swelling was caused by some kind of "disease" and that i needed to see a specialist. Well, i proceeded to get every blood panel imaginable, and there was no condition or disease. It was from the fillers, which can migrate and swell up at any time. ultimately her refusal to dissolve the filler or help me in any way forced me to have to spend a small fortune being treated by other doctors. i dont recommend dr. devgan -- i believe she is incompetent and negligent. read more

I have a bad result from eyelid surgery. This is my personal experience and may not be the case for others. I am very hollow post op, it's a very odd feeling that only those who have gone through similar experience can understand. I would not wish it on anyone. Wish it wasn't so but it is. I have big old scars from the incisions under my eyes that make up can't hide. Hoping I can be fixed one day! Or find a time machine to undo this. read more
