Lara's completely missed the mark tonight, and it's Valentine's Day!. My wife and I made a reservation for 2 at 6pm. We decided to go early and have a cocktail at the bar, it went downhill from here. My wife ordered a Lemon Drop and I ordered a Knob Creek Old Fashioned. The first fail is they served my drink before my wife! Ladies first, always!! Second, when her drink finally arrived, it was not a lemon drop. A lemon drop is a simple drink, 2pz vodka, fresh squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup shaken and poured into a sugar rimmed cocktail glass. This bartender added Triple Sec and Chambord...WRONG! My old fashioned was pure knob creek, no muddled orange peel, sugar cube and bitters...FAILED! At 5:58pm I went to check on our table, they didn't have our reserved table and gave it to walk-ins instead. We used to love this place as they always took care of us in the past. Tonight they drew a line in the sand. It will be a while before we go back. A total disappointment! We walked out! (Zero stars)

Out-of-town family visit brought us here for Sunday brunch. It was my first visit, and I don't know how I'd never been here before, but I'll definitely be back. This space is absolutely beautiful--it feels like a large, elegant home divided into several spacious private dining rooms. The service was top-tier, and every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a very large party, and everything was amazing. No complaints at all--just rave reviews from our vegans, kosher-only diners, and pescatarians! Lara's knocked it out of the park with the entrees. The wild salmon and halibut were the top scorers all around, uand the eggplant sandwiches held their own. The wine list is decent, and the prices are reasonable.

Recently came here for a work lunch and it was fairly crowded. The service was phenomenal. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful as well. Right along the water and you have a nice view of the SF skyline. It can get hot with all the windows, creating a sunroom effect. But it's nice for a cold day. The food was okay. They have a vast selection of items to choose from. The calamari is a little bland and came out less than crispy. The bruschetta was great, the tomatoes were seasoned well. The lobster roll was plain and the ration was way more bread than lobster. I wouldn't recommend getting this item and the lobster wasn't that great. I'm sure other things on their menu are fine, but for the price, I'd go somewhere else!

We've lived in Richmond for almost 10 years, and we actually spend a fair amount of time down near the Marina, but our first visit to Lara's was last night. We sat in the main dining room overlooking the harbor, and the ambience was worthy of five stars. The dining room is bright and airy and just feels so nice. Menu and food, I'd say, is worthy of three stars. Typical italian and seafood options abound, but there might be just a tad too many options which kind of cheapens the menu. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce, and was underwhelmed, but it wasn't bad. It just didn't live up to the ambience that the restaurant has. My husband really liked the fish from his fish-and-chips plate, but he was less enthused about the fries (just a little plain). He was also hoping for some malt vinegar to come to the table, but he ended up eating all the fish without it. The fresh bread brought to the table, though, was a standout. I really enjoyed it. I think if they pared down the menu (maybe by half?) and really focused on perfecting their options, this place would be a standout restaurant. Overall, the ambience outweighs the menu and we had a nice nice dinner and will happily come back!

What an unforgettable celebration it was, marking my Edward's 70th Birthday at Lara's Fine Dining! We indulged in their sublime special catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, paired with scrumptious mashed potatoes and garlic spinach. I toasted with a glass of John Anthony Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc and for dessert Edward chose cheesecake and I reveled in creme brulee. The highlight of the evening was witnessing the stunning sunset at the harbor.

While in town after a family memorial service, the family decided to do a late brunch. We called ahead, and they could accommodate our party of 12. We showed up and as promised, we had a series of tables set up for us. It was great to have close family members together, and I of course set the party off by getting some cocktails from the bar. After a few beverages, we were all so overwhelmed by the number of great options. With people traveling from all over the country, everyone gravitated to some seafood. I went all in and had the Fettuccini Nero, which had homemade Black Squid Ink Fettuccini, lobster, mussels, & of course Dungeness crab tossed in this Alfredo Sauce. Everyone was trying each other's dishes... BUT ME, I was like "wow yours looks great... but keep your fork on your side of the table please"... haha...The beauty of family!. As for Desert, I didn't go overboard, but I picked a few items for the family to share... and that's because the dessert cart came out and was next to me!!! And yes, I did get the Chocolate Mousse Cake & Crème Brûlée. We also had a visit from Ms. Lara herself to the table, thanking us for coming in. Overall, a great experience with great food, family & friends. Looking forward to returning

We came to Lara's Fine Dining after our director's retreat and it was the perfect spot to wrap up the day. The waterfront views are beautiful, the atmosphere is elegant but still comfortable, and the service was excellent--attentive without being overbearing. The food was outstanding! Everything from the appetizers to the entrées was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. They also have a great wine and cocktail list that paired perfectly with our meals. Overall, a wonderful experience for both a group dinner and a special night out. Definitely recommend if you're looking for fine dining in Richmond with great views and great food.

This restaurant caught my eye when different friends posted it on social media. I bookmarked it. I made a reservation for party of five on Yelp for a Saturday night at 5:30pm. Hubby & I arrived first. Our table was tucked in the corner in the long shotgun room that stretched from one end to the other. It really was a table for four but they stuck a chair at the end. We had a nice view of the marina. While waiting hubby & I both ordered a hazy IPA, and listened to live piano music. The rest of our party soon joined us. We were informed of the daily specials. Starters - * calamari for the table - good serving size. Nice coating. * cups of clam chowder soup - no oyster crackers though. Lots of minced clams. * house bread - accompanied by whipped butter, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil in a dish. The first basket is comp. After that there's a charge. One basket good for us. Dinner entrees - * two ordered the fish of the day. Sea bass * hubby ordered his favorite pasta. Linguine with clams. He counted 12. * one ordered the prime rib * I ordered the veal scaloppine with mushroom sauce. The sauce a little salty but overall I enjoyed it. Dessert - they rolled the dessert cart over. Six to select from plus sorbet & gelato. Both the crème brûlée and tiramisu are made onsite. * we ordered two tiramisus & five spoons. Very good. All in all we were pleased with our dinner selections. The restaurant is located by the Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Point Richmond. We used our GPS to locate it. There's a shared parking lot with another restaurant. Nearby landmark is Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park. We enjoyed both attentive service and food so much we plan to return for our next get together.

What a hidden gem this place is! From the moment we walked in, we were surrounded by a wonderful ambiance--gorgeous fresh flowers, beautiful smiles, and true professionalism from the staff. We enjoyed a fantastic meal that tasted fresh and delicious, with very generous portions. Mrs. Lara herself went table to table greeting everyone, and she even sang with her angelic voice, which made the experience feel extra special. My friend and I enjoyed every bit of our food. We really wanted to try the dessert cart, but we were already so full--next time for sure! We will definitely be back.

I told my friends after eating Peruvian food to check out Lara's Fine Dining for coffee and desserts. I had been at this restaurant for lunch many times already. The hostess told us that they will serve until 4 pm. However we ended like 4:30 pm. We ordered latte and decaf coffees. We also had the Cheesecake & Cream Brûlée. The owner Lara stopped at our table. I told my friends that Lara sang my birthday song years ago. Definitely she did sing again today. It was so nice. We had pictures with her. My friends enjoyed both the ambiance as the restaurant is near the water, the service was nice and the snack was good. My friends said that for sure we will return for lunch.

Sea-bass special Dinner, I was expecting a filet fish. It was cut into small pieces.

I went to Lara's for Mother's Day dinner. There were three of us, and I have been going there for over 25 years. We love the place; however, the food is not as great as it used to be. Based on the menu, there were special dinner options, including Sea Bass and Salmon. I ordered the Sea Bass special, and my sister-in-law ordered the Salmon. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed when I received my Sea Bass (see picture). When you go to a high-end restaurant and order a special dinner, you expect a filet of Sea Bass. Instead, I received small pieces of Sea Bass that looked like leftovers. As for the Salmon, it seemed like they simply poured tomato sauce on top. The pork chop was also very hard. In addition, no waiter checked on us even after 30 minutes of serving our dinner. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be coming back to Lara's.

Enjoyed dinner with my mom here on a Saturday. Ambiance was on point with the live music and ocean views (yes in Richmond). Came in and were asked to wait at the bar, although pretty busy, we were seated promptly. Menu has a good range and should be able to satisfy most picky eaters. Servers were knowledgeable and made great suggestions and were attentive throughout our entire meal. Ordered the calamari to start and it was light and crispy, solid app. Mains we got the Halibut with the sautéed veggies, which was an absolute banger! Mash was airy and had a great consistency as well as the sautéed veggies weren't cooked to death, so also good. Mom got the daily special seafood pasta which was in a pesto sauce with shrimp, mussels and some other sea critters, very tasty (portion was decent, moms is tiny so no she did not finish it, yes I took it home and yes it was amazing the next day, that's pasta for you). Live music was definitely a highlight of the night as we really enjoyed the jazz combo that played. Thanks Mom! I would've never known about this place without you! Will come back with my lady soon as this is truly one of Richmond's hidden gems

We each got a handroll set and it was enough with the 4 rolls along with an appetizer for 3 of us to feel full. The SHUNGIKU KAKIAGE appetizer was delicious. Very nice with light batter and flavor. We enjoyed this a lot. Each roll was fresh and had a good amount of meat in it. The home made soy sauce was also delicious and had very interesting umami flavor. Our waitress was friendly and it wasn't very busy but for some reason she didn't notice to fill our water jug for a while. She was very good at clearing dishes. Parking wasn't too bad on a weekday night on the street but street parking is only 2 hours.

After a hike in Berkeley, we saw we were close to this Albany location so we popped in at 2:30pm (they closed at 3pm). Got seated immediately. It was bigger than the Oakland location and (to my liking) more calm/quiet (though that could have been bc we were there at an off hour instead of prime dinner time, but nonetheless it was very much enjoyed). Similar to the Oakland location, they walk handrolls out one at a time. I don't know if they were short on staff because of the off hour, but every roll we had, the seaweed was soggy/not crisp. Unsure if it was not fresh OR if it was just sitting in the kitchen, and not the biggest deal, but I definitely preferred the seaweed at the Oakland location. That said the fish was good and the rice was well seasoned. I do think if I have a craving for handrolls, I'll prob go to the Oakland location.

Parking will be on neighborhood streets and was not too hard to find. Stepping in we immediately noticed that mural arts on the wall. Ordering can be at the register or via an electronic kiosk. They have a lot of interesting smash burger options, including a Trompo featuring Al Pastor. We got the Fat Boi, Trompo, and Highway Style fries. We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back. For myself, probably not as the food was just too heavy for me.
